Mama B knows she needs to get a handle on her bulging waistline, so she visits an exercise class at the local recreation center. But when the dancing style isn’t quite her cup of tea, she and her longtime friend, Ophelia, start a class of their own. Soon Mama B finds herself compelled to take in yet another wayward soul from the class. But will Frank agree to open his home to strangers?
When the exercise class comes under attack, Mama B has to figure out her place in the Lord’s army while hoping her strong position won’t backfire against Frank. And just when things seem to be looking up for the young woman whom she has been divinely appointed to help, Mama B’s temper gets the best of her and threatens to unravel the very mission God has called her to complete.
Join Mama B and a host of small-town characters in this poignant story about the internal and external wars we fight whether we realize we’re in them or not!
Hello, Goodreads community! I'm Michelle Stimpson, and storytelling is my heartbeat. I've found my calling in penning heartwarming women's fiction that offers a seat at the table of family, humor, and hope. As an author, my greatest joy comes from crafting narratives that resonate with anyone seeking to find laughter and light in the pages of a good book. My tagline, 'Read. Love. Repeat.', is a promise of the emotional journey I aim to provide—engaging stories you’ll love and yearn to revisit.
Mama B is a God-fearing woman, with a ton of humor and wisdom. Mama B decides to enroll in an exercise class at the recreation center. Mama B realizes that the class is not for her, and decides to start an exercise class. Mama B is a woman that will stand for the Lord…….A Time for War……..A must read!!!!
I have so enjoyed — and grown spiritually— with this series. I’m a white, “boring” 69-year young Lutheran Christian, who is inspired to pray like Mama B! Great, uplifting series of books!
As usual, Mama B stands strong on her convictions and the truth of God's word. We learn not to judge and not to lean towards what's convenient. We're in a fight that continues to rage even now. Stand strong soldier!
Once again Mama B challenges the reader to live a life in tune with God. This time she's running a keep fit class and waging a spiritual war, and reminding us that God doesn't do things our way.
And amazing and God-filled lessons! The scriptures and instructions are concrete and wonderful. I'm enjoying the messages and entertainment of,"Mama B" series.
I just started and finished this book today. I could not put it down! It was so enjoyable on many levels. More than anything, it reminded me of home. You see, I grew up in the south. Our street was inhabited by people of all races and colors. The mamas took care of whatever children were in her yard or house. If you did wrong, she could set you right. If you did right, she could beam with pride. If you were hungry she would feed you, and if the sunlight was fading, she would send you home to your mama. That's the way it worked. I have great memories and some of them were when I was corrected, gently, but corrected by my other mamas.
This book goes further than that. The characters in this book stand up for God and Jesus, they recognize their own faults and sinfulness, and they return to walk with the Lord. The author makes sure we see even her main characters - born again, God-fearing people - are sinful, but they are forgiven. She helps us see Christianity in real people and helps us see how we can keep on walking with and for God even in this fallen world where Christianity is the underdog, it seems.
This book reminds us not to give up hope on the people of this world. It reminds us to love our fellow humanbeing. They could be us. It also reminds us to enjoy the life the Lord gives us each day and give it back to Him in service to Him. I like to read and want to read more books like this. I will be reading more of Ms. Stimpson's books.
Thank you for a lovely, joyful, and enjoyable book!
I have read several Mama B books, and I love Mama B and the stories. I haven't read the books in order, and it hasn't made any difference in my enjoyment, though reading them in order would make it easy to understand relationships.
This book is really timely because of the hostility to anything Christian in the public square. When Mama B is told she can't play Gospel music in her exercise class, she goes to war--spiritual war, that is. Mama B's actions remind us that all of us Christians need to be engaged in spiritual warfare.
Mama B does selfless things to show God's love. Then, like so many of us who try to do the right thing, she messes up by losing her temper. She is a devout Christian who loves the Lord, but she's a sinner like the rest of us. Mama B, though, recognizes when she falls and confesses to the Lord right away, as we all should.
Another great book. It deals with real Christian problems and provides real Christian answers. I'm actually going through a lot of what the story talks about. It has blessed me tremendously. I also love the different perspective she provides such as keeping children in the sanctuary and when to discipline them. These are areas I need guidance in. I'm very grateful for the story line and the author. God bless you
The latest installment of the Mama B series did not disappoint. It seems like she gets bolder with each novella. The feisty seasoned woman just doesn't knows how to stop being a blessing to others. I truly enjoyed it and hope to see more of her in the future.
Mama B stories are always on point. They are filled with everyday activities that will lead you to God's throne room. I enjoyed this story because it encourages the reader to stay focused, keep your eyes on the Lord, and in His time all things will work out for your good and His glory.
As usual Mama B is being used by God to help someone in need. She is truly the type of woman I'd like to be one day! Her heart is amazing and she's so selfless. Glad things worked out in her favor at the rec center.
I have read all of the Mama B books and I think this might be my favorite. I love all the characters and the story is alway fresh and full of humor. I just wish they were longer because I'm always a little sad when they end.
What a great book that mirrors today's culture. Christians aren't allowed to speak out about our faith but we're expected to be tolerant of others. God is in control and we should pray without ceasing and let Him direct our lives!
I like to read books of Mama B. To read of the things that she fights for her Christian beliefs. Fights for her rights when she knows they are doing her wrong.
