>Review – Destroyed -

>I received this from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. I am an independent reviewer. This is the first book in the Chronicles of the Seven Sons Series.

>This book takes place in a time where vampires, demons and humans live amongst each other and know about each other. Twin brothers fighting for the same girl start the whole good vs evil battle many years prior. The prologue tried to explain the roots of the fight, but the information was very confusing right off the bat. The secrets to the brothers feud would have been better revealed in a flashback after the reader was introduced to the characters. The sheer amount of characters was tricky to keep straight, but add in the fact they had Greek names and more current names made figuring out who was who almost impossible. A list of the cast of characters, their allegiances and Greek names would have been helpful. If this list was set at the beginning of the book, instead of the Prologue, I think the reader could have focused on the story more than trying to figure out who was who.

>Jade loses his girl Eliza to his evil twin, Corbin. Avery comes into Jade's life and they become soul mates. Jade has many friends who mention how they owe Jade for things he helped them with in the past, but none of these things are explained. I almost felt as if I missed a previous book. A few of the friends are given back stories, but only a paragraph or so, hardly enough to warrant even mentioning the past.

>The book was very long. Normally I enjoy a nice long story. This story felt padded with a lot on inane dialogue, especially between the parents. I feel dialogue should only be used to further the story. Back and forth dialogue just to fill space is annoying to read. The overall plot is interesting. The story was very violent. The rape scenes are prevalent and mentioned quite often. The one love scene was interesting to read. At one point, Jade has his hand in Avery's hair, body and on each side of her head. He must have a lot of hands!

>This story was very good for a beginner and felt like a story a college student would turn in. There is still a lot of polishing to do, though.

>This book is recommended for an adult (18+) audience due to scenes of torture and rape.

[Warning: This book contains scenes were rape and gang rape are either discussed or alluded to. However, these scenes are not described. There is also swearing, but I didn't find it over the top]
I have awarded this book 3 stars.

Destroyed is book 1 in The Chronicles of the Seven Sons series.Destroyed Cover

As I've never read anything by this author before, I wasn't sure what to expect. The blurb was very enticing, so I decided to give it a go.

I enjoyed reading this. The characters were likeable and the writing style flowed quite nicely. I liked the character of Jade (though my favourite was Sypher and I hope the series expands on his character in the future ) and I found the way that he battled between the feelings in his heart and the thoughts in his head to be effective. I also really liked the references to the Greek Gods, which I've not come across in a vampire book before. As I mentioned in the warning preceding this review, this book contains quite a few references to or discussions about rape and/or gang rape. However, without giving anything away, these references are included in discussions about Hell/Purgatory. Therefore, I didn't find them to be out of place.

Unfortunately, I felt that this book was greatly let down by mistakes, both typing (the character put eggs 'into' a plate) and grammatical (the character picked her car keys up 'off of' the cupboard) . The book is also very long; at 464 pages, I wonder if the author should consider taking some scenes and turning them into a short story as an extra to the series. It may also be worth the author considering a character list at the start of the book with the characters modern names and their Greek names, as I found that to be quite confusing at the start.

★★★ - All in all, I felt that this book was a promising start to the series. The plot was intriguing, but I feel that the author is not executing this book to the best of her ability. I will be looking out for further books in this series, but I hope that more care is taken in the following books.

I was given a complimentary copy by author Aimee Shaye for an honest review.

Many years ago Jade and his brother fought over the same girl, Eliza. Now Jade finds himself almost in the same situation but he must decide to save a girl or let death take her.

This book has a great story line and wonderful characters for any reader to enjoy. The author gave the characters very good interaction with each other.

This book is for any paranormal romance book reader. This book is not for everyone but if you enjoy paranormal like vampires and demons then you will want to check it out.

Nature over nurture? Fate or freewill? What really shapes our lives and the paths we choose? Many millennia ago there were twin sons born Jade and Corbin. Both were loved and cherished by their parents, until a whispered prophesy stating that while one son would destroy the world the other would be its savior reached the ears of not only their parents but their entire village. With just a whisper everyone’s perspective changed on these two boys. When the village is attacked by vampires Corbin sees no reason not to embrace his badness since everyone has already condemned him as the destroyer, why not embrace it? For thousands of years Jade has tried to bring his brother down and stop him from doing what the prophesy foretold. Having already lost that which was most precious to him centuries ago Jade lives only to bring his brother down. He keeps everyone at arm’s length and vows to never love again. With one look at Avery he knows he is in trouble. He is drawn to her in ways he cannot explain. Avery has just recently moved to get away from not only an unhealthy relationship but one with a vampire none the less. What Jade and Avery don’t know is that their lives were intertwined long before they met by none other than Corbin. When Corbin sets his sights on destroying Avery Jade comes to the rescue and things get harrier from that point on. Now that Corbin knows Avery is under his brothers protection he will stop at nothing to not only unleash hell on earth but take that which his brother holds dear from him once again. Will Jade be able to keep Avery safe and stop his brother once and for all? Or will Corbin succeed in bringing hell on earth and destroying all Jade holds dear once again?

I was given this book for a unbiased and honest review

I enjoyed the story line. I got confused on several different things. The beginning of the story switched characters a little more then I would have liked. While it was giving us a little back story.

This is my first book I've read by this author. It's a real page turner. I loved the flow, and how this author combined vampires and greek God's into the mix. I'm looking forward to reading more from Aimee.

This is a story about Jade. His twin brother Corbin and him will be put to the test. They both want Avery. Who will Avery pick? Read this book to find out. This will not disappoint.

I was so excited about this book and being part of the blog tour, but I have to be honest and I did not like this book.

This was the synopsis that had me intrigue, click here.

Unfortunately, I had issues with the big from the very beginning. The author didn’t do a lot of research before writing this. She would repeatedly say that her vampires are 10,000 years old and live in our modern time. That they were turned at the height of Ancient Greece, she is off my a couple thousand years.

The character were many in number but not enough in substance. I couldn’t keep everyone straight and honestly after a while they started blending together. They were flat. I felt no attachment to any character. I found them to be annoying, especially the core characters.

This book was over 450 pages, that’s about 200 pages more than it should be. Certain plot points were talked over in great details as if she thought the readers were toddlers and wouldn’t understand, while other points were skipped over. It was so dragged out.

This book gets a F. There was so humous dialogue and I do think the plot is interesting. I just think Shaye needs to submit her work to more qualified editors. Maybe insert a family tree and a timeline with the prologue.

What really bothered me about this book was how much her characters threaten and actually committed rape and sexual assaults. The rape scene didn’t progress the story or show how ruthless the character is … it showed how little she knows about trauma. I found that more disturbing.

This book takes into the wide world of paranormal, we meet vampires, demons and humans that are co-existing together. A long time feuds starts with twin brother Jade and Corbin over a woman. There has always been a shadow hanging over the twin’s heads since birth about one will be savior and one a destroyer. Corbin has been label, so why not grow on that label and let all the bad out. Jade has lost so much in his life that all that keep him going is the thought of bring down Corbin. You see all the wheels turning and how all the spokes connect, weather we want them to or not. You will feel so many emotions in this book the anguish, hate, love and hope. Highly recommend this book, this is a must add to any paranormal reader collection

Wow. The beginning of the book is confusing, but by the end I couldn't put it down. This is a story of good and evil. Of what love can do and what hatred can make a person into.
