3.75 Stars!!

description

Allison ‘Allie’ Wallace had lived through a life of chaos – a father who took his life away and a religious mother that always had given her a hard time. Everything changes for the worse for her when she is kicked out of her mother’s home when she finds out she is pregnant. Ryker Lawson, her boyfriend was sentenced five months ago to five years after he got busted for selling crack, so Allie is scared, alone with no one to help her. Except Heath Lawson, her boyfriend’s big brother.

When Allie comes to Heath because she needs a place to stay, he’s ready to do anything to help her. First because he promised his brother he will be there for her anytime and secondly because she is pregnant. He offers her a room and he also convinces Allie to keep the baby. Heath is sexy, raw and he fights for money. Unlike his brother he’s not the relationships type. He knows Allie, but they never really talked to each other. Despite all that he’s ready to do anything to give Allie everything she needs to feel safe and protected. He’s ready to change his lifestyle for her, to fight more and to provide for her and for her unborn child.

As they start to spend more and more time together and they start to know each other better, Allie and Heath seem to fall for each other, but both of them are struggling with their new feelings for the obvious reasons. Their relationship is ‘inappropriate’, but keeping their hands of each other is harder with each and every day.

I really enjoyed this one. It was a fast paced mix of sexiness and sweetness that kept my attention from start to finish. Despite the blurb, this was not exactly a love triangle. Allie and Heath’s relationship was great, but progressed a little too fast for my liking. Their backgrounds are explained well enough, but I really would have liked to get to know more about Ryker and Allie’s relationship. Anyway…Both Allie and Heath were great characters. Even if the story is told in dual pov (actually three, but two for the most part) Heath’s character was more developed IMO. Heath was a great hero from the very beginning. He’s sweet, caring and so compassionate. He’s a tattooed fighter, but he has a heart of gold. I absolutely loved his tenderness. He was simply wonderful with Allie – the way he talked with her was lovely and heartwarming. I have to say I didn’t like all of Allie’s decisions, but overall she was a great heroine.

The chemistry and the tension between them were really great done and the sexy scenes pretty hot.
Honestly I expected the story to unfold in a very different way, but I liked how everything progressed. The cliffhanger in the end left me intrigued, so it goes without saying I’m looking forward to read the next book.

Overall, a quick, entertaining read!

What the hell was that???
That was the end???

I thought that the things would be more clear around the end, but they were darker than night itself....
Damn!!!! And now what????

Phew!!! I need the next book immediately!!!

Oh, my God!!!! What will happen next???
What about Allie and Heath???? What about their problems???? What about Ryker???
Fuck, what a mess!!!!

This book started with Allie asking help from Heath Lawson...
Heath is her boyfriend's big brother....They were never close to each other, but Allie had noone else to turned since her mother kick her out of their house after she found out that Allie was pregnant...

So her only option is Heath, since Ryker is nowhere around... and that's why he did some shitty things and he ended up behind the bars...
So Allie is alone and determined to end up this pregnacy...
But Heath doesn't agree with that decision and he gets her under his wings....

"He was my anchor, and if he wasn’t with me right now I was going to sink.”

Heath is a street fighter... He never had problems with the law and he is angry with his brother...
He is masculine, raw, handsome and sexy as hell... He is every woman's fantazy and he is very aware of that fact...

When Allie ask him to help her, he doesn't hesistate at all and he is changing all his life to be there for her and her unborn child...
After all, he had given a promise to his brother to keep her safe...

"Lines were blurring, and I couldn’t tell where along the way I stopped caring.”

But after so much time together, something is starting to change between them and it leads them to unknown and dangerous paths...

"She was his brother's (ex) girlfriend, pregnant with his brother's baby, and still fell for her hard." {Heath}

"Everything about him was raw and masculine... but he was Ryker's brother. He's completely off limits." {Allie}

And in that point was the time that i started to question my morality... a lot!!!

Because against all odds, i wanted Allie to be with Heath!!!
Yeah, i know that is a fucked up situation because of his brother, but if you get to know Heath, you will feel the same way with me...

He is absolutely... AWESOME!!! I think, i want him too...

If Allie did not end up with him...
(If that will ever happen i will die, i swear it!!!)
...then please send him to me!!!! It will be the most perfect present... EVER!!!!

(And let Allie have Ryker's baby, i don't care!!!! *Evil Laugh*)

I won't say much more... Only that at the end, everything was a mess!!!
And i don't mean only the sexual part, believe me!!! They were much more troubles....
OMG!!! I question everything right now!!!

I think that we will have many adventures in the next book and i have to stop talking because i need to start it right now!!!

More details when i finished "Saving Lawson"...

Heath, i'm coming for you, you sexy thing!!!

This was a 3.5 stars for me. It was a bit slow at getting started; but the last approx. 35% turned the book around for me. The twist at the end has for sure caught my attention, to the point that I will HAVE to read the next book, just to find out what the outcome will be!

"Loving Lawson," is about a young lady named Allison who has been kicked out of her mother's home when it was discovered that she was pregnant. With no where to turn, she seeks out the baby daddy's brother Heath..You see, the father of the baby is in jail and he would not want Allison to have the baby. She is leaning towards terminating the pregnancy; which is why her mother origionally kicked her out..To Allie's surprise though, Heath decides to not only take her in to his home; but also talks her into keeping the child. This was a huge shocker to even Heath, as he is a part time MMA fighter, who is very into his playboy life style. He's muscular, tattoed, and of course; the ladies love him! The more he is around Allie though, the more he learns that he craves something very different for his life.

"She made me realize I wanted things I didn't even know I wanted. Being around her, craving her, hungering for the taste of her, it changed everything. I wanted some goddamn meaning in my life."

The biggest road block in Heath's attraction to Allie though, is that his brother Ryker loves her. Technically, Ryker and Allie are not together though. He is in jail at least for five years, and again; he has no interest in having a child. This plays very heavy on Heath's mind, but even with his hesitation, the attraction between him and Allie grows to an explosive point. Will they give in? Or will they both be able to keep their relationship as friends??

At times, I did feel the book to be a bit cheesy..(for lack of a better word)but the biggest turn around for me was towards the end when I twist comes into play. There is way more than meets the eye with Ryker. First of all, he is in a lot more trouble than anyone had known. This trouble will affect his brother and his ex-girl. I think this was a great set up book to what can be a really good series if it is done right in the second book. I do look forward to finding out. Of course, I didn't want it to end the way it did; but I will eagerly watch for the next book in this series. This was my first book by R.J. Lewis, and I am definitely intrigued to see what else the author has written. All in all, an intriguing beginning to what promises to be an explosive series!

3.5-4 (HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME?!) STARS

This is my third Lewis book and I wished she wrote more! I always get a crazy ride with her reads.

Two Brothers + One Girl

One is in prison, Ryker

One is a fighter, Heath

One is pregnant, Allie

I usually don’t do love triangles, but this really isn’t one, but both brothers play a role, even though one is in prison. Allie is kicked out of her house because she got knocked up. She doesn’t have any place to go and her baby-daddy isn’t available. So, she goes to the brother, Heath.

Heath is your typical hero fighter. He’s a ladies man, he doesn’t do serious relationships. He works as a mechanic as a day job and does fights on the side for extra cash. When Heath sees his brother’s sort of ex-girlfriend asking for help, Heath can’t say no.

Allie and her baby-daddy have this odd relationship. She’s a really clean-cut, good girl, but she somehow gets involved with a guy who cheats, lies and gets into trouble. Ryker put her thought so much crap, that they are finally broken up. But he doesn’t think so.

Mostly Loving Lawson is Allie and Heath’s relationship. Heath is starting to have feelings for Allie, but he knows it’s wrong because he promised Ryker that he would look out for her. Of course trouble comes around because some of Ryker’s past comes to stir things up.

This book was a quick read. I think it had a lot of potential and overall I liked it, but it did need to be polished just a tad bit. As much as I love fast-pace books, I need more meat. I needed some story development on Allie and Ryker’s relationship. I needed more build-up on Heath and Allie’s relationship while she was with Ryker. Were there any lingering feelings?

The climatic part of the book was the best. It was unexpected and I’m kind of torn on my feelings. I want to feel a certain way, but I kind of fell the opposite for some reason. Anyhow, I’m left shocked and needy for the next book.

This book was a short read which is what I needed but it also comes with a cliff hanger. *signs*

When I first started reading it, I didn’t like where the storyline was heading but I carried on with it…
Heath is the H in this story and after Allie comes to him to ask for a place to stay because her mother kicked her out, he says yes and offers to help out as much as he can because she was his brothers ex-girlfriend and he made a promise to his brother to look out for her while he was in jail (she was pregnant too). Heath does so much for Allie which I thought was super sweet as a lot of the things he did were just to make her happy. I started loving Heath so much and wished she was carrying his baby instead of his evil brother's!

I liked Allie, she wasn’t the one to cause drama and the banter she had going on with Heath was great. The two were perfect together. The story is pretty simple from the beginning with not much going on but towards the end you get a whole scene! I'm pretty excited to read the second book now!

I really liked it ! I was invested the whole time and I immediately started book 2 because I NEED to know what will happen with these 3 characters.

So this is the story about Allie, Heath and Ryker.
Heath is Ryker’s older brother, older by 18 months only.
The book starts with Allie going into a street fight to find Heath to ask for help. She was kicked out of the house by her ultra religious mom because she is pregnant. She has no one to help so she goes to her “ex” boyfriend big brother. Ryker is in prison, he was sentenced to 5 years for selling drugs. Allie is soooo mad at him because of the whole situation and the fact he always only lied to her. So they are no together in her mind, they still together in his mind ….
Ryker had ask Heath to protect Allie when he went to prison so obviously when Allie showed up asking for a place to live he immediately took her to his apartment and gave her Ryker’s bedroom. Heath is a really good guy, different than his brother in every aspect and he convinces Allie not to abort the baby. He said he will support them and HE DOES !
Allie is a really good girl, smart and kind. She is finding comfort in Heath.
As it goes they start to really fall for each other. And then Ryker’s problems came knocking on their door. Heath is put in a position that either he finds 50 thousand dollars to pay back what Ryker lost or they will kill Ryder in prison and Allie ….. long story short is Allie and Heath fall in love and I LOVE THEM. But Ryker loves and is obsessed about Allie and won’t let this go. This book is really really short but manage to pack a punch, so many things happen and now idk what will happen in book 2. All I know is that no matter the situation Allie and Heath BETTER be together or else …. 😡

NEED BOOK 2 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIKE NOW!
Heath was amazing. I was a little frustrated by Allie because I just wanted her to go to Ryker and set the record straight with him. I don't know why people are syaing this is a love triangle when she broke up with him and didn't want him. Never throughout the book did I think she was hung up on Ryker. She was fighting her feelings for Heath from the second things started to turn interesting between them. The tension killed me! I just wanted them to get together, and just when you think things are going one way, they completely changed and went another. The twist in the end was awesome.
I absolutely hate Ryker though and the way he put her down in the end. Calling her plain. Grrrr. Heath though <3

4.5 "The Good Brother" Stars! Lovers of love triangles and new adult, angst filled romance, will not want to miss Loving Lawson. There is also an MMA angle and a good bit of organized crime related suspense intermingled in the story. I chose this as my Amazon Prime lending library selection a while back, and now I am saddened that I waited so long to read this fantastic story. But beware, this book ends in a cliffhanger, so if you want the whole story you will need to read Saving Lawson, book 2, too.

11/13/2014 --

Additional clarity for my look-back a year from now.

I really think there was a good story here hidden here in the overuse of words. What? This author likes to use $10 words and phrases for no real purpose. Sometimes it worked for her. Most of the time it didn't and was terribly distracting.

A real shame, because I did like the story concept and liked the characters. A case of execution. This isn't a debut, so I'll definitely not read any others by this author. I'm sure the proclivity for over verbalizing the simplest thoughts is the way of it by now.

This is me, my opinion. It may really work for you if you give it a go.

Got it with Kindle Unlimited, so no worries. Love that program!

Happy Reading!

Burn and Ignite by this author blew me away I just loved those books, the last two after just didn't talk my language....it's just me?

This is the first of two books. The ending of this one I have to say was the best part cuz I wanna know what Ryker has planned!

Anyway, story goes....Allie turns up at her boyfriends brothers fight asking for help. She's up the duff and he's in the nick ( excuse my slang ). Heath takes her home and basically turns from the guy who never noticed her to wanting to be her protector, lover and all round that kind of shit. Things progress and you guessed it.

Allie didn't have any character for me (typical female) Heath did but not much, I didn't understand how he had known her and didn't notice her for so long and over night dynamics change.

For me this didn't kick in till the end when we had Rykers voice, then the spoon stirred it up and we had a story to be heard!

No clue when the next books out guys

This book is just weird. The writing was so awkward, it seemed like English was not the authors first language. Not a big deal if you have an editor that will catch goofy sentences like, "I tried nudging her awake, but to no result." "She hadn't expected an audience, and I'd been so absorbed by her, I didn't notice them too." "This guy was really trying and he wasn't even one bit entitled to." Or.. " I had a long history of women, and even though I was careful to make sure they were clean and I was completely protected every time, it still didn't impress my image." This is just a small sample of poorly written sentences. So what we have is a poorly written, mediocre story that has been told over and over again in these young adult books. It doesn't even have any decent sex scenes to make it a little interesting. All in all it was a very disappointing read.

Great read! I enjoyed the story, love the little twist and mystery with it. Even though it has a cliffy (which kinda sucks, but the ending was not a bad one.. it was more like to be continued.. but still sucks.. coz i hate waiting!) I'm still giving this a big whooping 5 STARS!

OK, I am a fan of RJ Lewis's books and this one looked quite intriguing. I truly liked it a lot but had some reservations and of course I am sure once I dive into the second book/sequel I am hoping it will answer some questions I have. The story itself is pretty fast paced and interesting. I guess I am a bit confused on Ryker and Allie's exact deal. I get he is still in love with her and that he wants her to wait on him but Allie, for most of the book I wasn't sure exactly of her feelings. She does say she is through with him but I didn't "feel" it until the very latter half of the book. Maybe I am just reading her wrong but her character for me was lacking a bit so maybe that's why I am not completely in love with her character just yet...... Now Heath, oh Heath, yep he is hot, sexy, and gosh just so damn sweet under that tough exterior! Oh my, I was swooning over him the entire book!!!!!! What a guy:)

I am definitely diving straight into the next book because I am so curious how the rest of this story plays out.

Great start and looking forward to the conclusion of this story!

No, No and fudging NO the book cannot end like that?!??? WTF?!?!?! I need more right this second!!!!!

Allison (Allie, Al) just found out she is 18 and pregnant...her loving boyfriend is in prison for a drug stunt (plus he is not a kid friendly type of guy), her overly religious mother just kicked her out and she has nowhere to go..
Her ex-boyfriend/boyfriend's brother is a part time fighter/full time mechanic and should be able to help, and he does..god he does.

Heath did a 180 when Allie met him by his car after the fight. She wanted an abortion, he prevented it by offering to help her out.. And I swear, each and everyone of us needs a Heath.
So, when things start getting hot between Heath and Allie, Ryker's problems start knocking, what do they do? They hold on... but the end more of the past unfolds and omg, shit is sooo twisted!!!!

I need more, more more!!!

First book by RJ Lewis, but have heard about her. It will certainly not be my last.

The build up between Heath and Allie was believable. I could feel their emotions.
It was a four star read for me until the very end. That ending was freaking amazing. Not so much a big cliffhanger. It is just the end of the first book with a clear opening to the second. Nothing major happened tho. Just things were revealed and in someone else's POV. However the person's final words chilled me and now I can't wait to see what will become of it.

Thanks Mariam for the recommendation! For once it was worth it ;)

Loving Lawson was another enjoyable book for me by R.J. Lewis. I loved Heath and Allie together but I wished the time frame was longer. It seemed to soon for the sexual relationship to start and the feelings of love. Allie and Ryker were just somewhat broken up. Also I really felt bad for Ryker and I understood his feelings of betrayal from his brother. Although he is also full of lies and deceit. Starting book 2.

OH MY FEELS!!!! Wrecked and Ruined me 5 solid diamond stars

So yeah I was SUUPPPPPPER excited to start Loving Lawson because I simply loooooove RJ Lewis. Thanks to my bestie gal pal, I found myself in the world of chaos and heartache and ever-loving losing my mind and freaking epictastic stories. Thank you babe and thank you RJ for forever ruining me. And that my friends make me happy.

Okay not moving on to Loving Lawson, Allison Wallace met Ryker Lawson right after tragedy struck her family. She's always been the good girl and was brought up in a strict home. She didn't mind, she was content so to speak and then her world shattered and she met Ryker and it settled again. Or so it seemed. Ryker wasn't and will never be the tame one, or who fights fair and strictly follows rules, as a result he ended up in prison, leaving his girlfriend at the mercy of Hedley crowd.

While Ryker's in prison Allie finds herself facing another harsh reality, she finds out something that could forever ruin or make her life and to make matters worse, this latest occurrence has made her mother throw her out of the house. What does a young girl who has no one do, she turns to her boyfriend, Ryker's brother Heath. Heath is a fighter, like literally, he fights in the underground fighting scene and he's the reigning champion, never having lost any matches so far. He's good, in fact he's aweomestic and epictastic. I freaking love him. I wanna grab him and never let go. He made my soul shiver. Can you say BBF??? Gaaaaah! It seems RJ is always going to create men who will always be at the top of my BBF list. The scene with Tru, although I have to say I hated her guts but boy was it HOT.

Le sigh!!! SO yeah, he makes me swooon cos the guy is totally dreamy. Mooooovvvvvving on, Allie made my heart ache, she's had a rough-ish childhood, my heart broke when she told Heath about growing up and the inner monologue that Heath had while she revealed her sad tale. OH GOD HAVE MERCY! I wanna totalllly jump him. Umm in a good way, not like beat him up, cos hey he's the HULK and I doubt I can beat him and I so don't want to. Heath is a quiet soul, at least he felt like that for me. He's been trying to keep things simple as the world around him went crazy. His life isn't easy but he's getting by. Having his little brother in prison and then having the girlfriend moving in, wasn't easy but he's the GOOD guy. He's the hero. The scene at the beginning with Ryker and him in the prison.

He really does love her. Everyone makes mistakes, some mistakes are great than other but does it mean you get a second chance. Welllll! Maybe or maybe not. So while Ryker's in prison, Heath is taking care of Allie and there's the buried feelings that gets shoveled up and it's soooooo freaking heartbreaking. Around a little over half way through I honestly wanted to put the book down cos I COULD NOT take it. Heath being sooooo freaking cold to Allie and then him leaving with the pocketful of items.

I hate you RJ LEWIS. NOOOOOOOOOOOT. But I need hugs like massive amount of them. Okay. Enough of my rambling. While things sort of NOT calm down, Heath gets a visit from a-hole no. 1 and it's bad new. I MEAN REALLY BAD. He does't know what to do but he's got Allie to think about and he does what all good guys do. He's moves forward, promising to move heaven and hell to make sure Allie is safe. In the process hurts himself bad. Even thought he doesn't have bottle full, he still goes to No. 1 and gets a gun shoved into his face.

Then Ryker tells you something that I could NOT comprehend. WTH!!! How is that... Why would it...

RYKKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Yep!! That is me mentally smashing my Kindle. See RJ what you do to me. But I FLOVE YOU.

Secrets!!! Secrets have a way of destroying trust, faith, love and life. So ladies and gents, if you wanna know whether Heath survives the gun-in-face moment or what the secret Ryker has revealed, BUY THIS BOOK. I swear you won't be disappointed. For me this one's a solid 5 diamond hearts.

3 extremely conflicted stars.

Is this story 100% captivating? Absolutely. The blurb says it all. Allie is pregnant by Ryker who's now in jail. She's kicked out of her home cause of the pregnancy and goes to Heath (Ryker's brother) for help.

Now, I can't actually fault the book and give it a lower rating because it explicitly says in the blurb that this is a romance between Heath and Allie, who's pregnant with his brothers baby. I don't like books where the heroine moves to a guys brother. But I thought this would be an exception.

But, what I did 100% expect is to is not like Ryker which would make me more sympathetic towards Heath and Allie's relationship. But actually, I really liked Ryker. During his POV, during Heath's visit to the jail to see Ryker, moments Heath and Allie recall her relationship with Ryker, I actually saw how 100% crazy Inlove Ryker is with Allie. Yes, he messed up, but never cause of his love. He's 22 in this book and sometimes you end up doing stupid stuff. Yes, the twist in the end of what he did was completely unexpected and dick-ish, but he fell for Allie HARD.

Also, what I wanted to REALLY accept Allie and Heath's relationship is more guilt from Allie's side. There was PLENTY from Heath's side, but I felt Allie was too okay with it. From the memories, she was extremely into Ryker as well. I would be dying from guilt tbh! I felt like she was TOO blasé about it all.

Lastly, I wanted to KNOW or understand 100% how her feelings for Heath are MORE than she had for Ryder. Their journey in falling Inlove was actually quite sexy and sweet! But I feel like it was missing ... Something to make be BELIEVE in it. I wanted to know why she feels more for Heath than she ever did Ryder, but I never got that feeling. I 100% believe in Heath's feelings for Allie. But I wanted MORE from Allie. While yes, she currently doesn't love Ryker, I feel as though she loves Heath right now the same level. And if he hadn't gone to jail she'd still be with him.

So instead of riding the happy and sensual wave of Heath and Allie's love, I couldn't enjoy it completely feeling what they were doing was wrong. Specially when I felt so bad for Ryder.

If I read a book about a girl going for her ex's brother, it better be a PROFOUND connection between her and the brother, and a good ass reason why she left her ex. Unfortunately here, this wasn't the case. I guess I feel a bit "icky" about Heath and Allie being together cause I feel SO bad for Ryder. I feel like he's given the short end of the stick being in jail pining for the girl he loves a crazy amount while his brother gets her. And damn, her lack of guilt was so annoying for me. If should've been a longer consideration process, their love connection should've been stronger.

What I did like?

Heath was amazing. Sexy as hell and so sweet! He's really romantic and many things made me swoon.

This story itself otherwise was good. It had good suspense and I feel like the next book is going to be full of it! I'm excited to see that if I decide to move on (depends on my ability to continue regardless of my "ick" factor)

Thus the 3 stars!

If Allie wasn't pregnant with Heath's brothers baby and if he's ex wasn't actually a good guy, this would've been 5 stars.

Will I read the second? I'm not sure... While a part of me thinks we'll get more about how Allie loves Heath more than Ryder, I don't know if I can get over the fact they're brothers and I actually like Ryker. Makes it hard for me to support her actions

The first 30 pages or so were tough. I don't like politics in my romance reads and the whole abortion angle set my teeth on edge. When writers "go there" in romances it always feels like some fucking moral ground issue that is completely polarizing to both sides of the fence. Personally, I haven't been there and it's not for me, but I'm not about to tell another what route's best for them. It's not MY body or MY life. And not really something I want to read where a very young man (not the baby daddy) convinces a barely-legal 18 year old with no hope, no family, and no prospects, with a baby daddy in jail, to keep the baby cuz he (not the baby daddy) will always be there for her. The reality of that is so nil it feels like a betrayal to add that to a heady life-altering moral complex and call it a lifetime love. Sorry...but I hate that. This shit never works out IRL.

However, the rest more than made up for it and I liked both the H/h enough, I don't care. The H proved his desire to follow through on his promises and kudos to him. The IRL bro would of probably just kept fucking Tru and left the h to her own devices.

What I really liked the most about this was the fact no one was a gazillionaire. No problem was ultimately solved or eased by the opening of the MCs wallet. That "realness" made me forgive a plethora of shit.

I felt their struggle, fear, growing love, with every page I turned. I wanted them to leave Ryker in jail for being such a drug-dealing asshat and I wanted the H/h to take that big ole bag of money and run like hell...see it always comes down to money in romances.

Love and stability, I'm pretty sure it's what all women crave.

AND THEN...we find out the truth about Ryker.

Holy crap.
Holy. Crap.
Ho-leeeeee. Craaaaaap.

On to book 2 ;)

well, this is awkward...

from the blurb you kinda get the hint of a possible cheat and messy triangle...and although I really avoid those themes I jumped into this cause fuck, it's about a fighter! (hell, call me shallow...LOL)
So, Allison Wallace is kicked out of her home from a really stricked and religious mother cause she got pregnant at 18 and her (ex) boyfriend Ryker ended up in jail for five years for carrying dope.
And yes, she broke up with him in anger and hurt BUT having no where to go or to turn too, she seeks help from Heath Lawson, Ryker's older brother...

Heath is a stand up guy, a fighter, both figuratively and literally and he's making his way through life in the only way he knows...he shows compassion towards Allie and offers her help in accomodation and protection during her pregnancy...

He takes care of her...and slowly compassion and tender friendship grows into much more...BUT the guilt is one tough son of a bitch of a feeling and it's eating them both alive...although Allie had broken up with Ryker, she still feels the need to clear things up with him...BUT the last words from Ryker are the ones of a vengeance...and the five year time will pass in silent rage very quickly...for the last show down of the next of kin

it sounds like a fucking triangle and it kinda is when I think about it...but when you reach towards the end you realize it was all orchestrated and planned...so the deed that looks like a cheating act has a devastating conclusion...and yet things are very different from what they seem at the first sight...

ends in cliffy...

3 "all of this is wrong" stars!

Hahhaha! I had to go with that adopted style of a byline (above) because this story had all of my No-No's, and though I was warned ebough in the book's summary itself, I read it anyway.

First "no!": The heroine is the hero's brother's girlfriend.

Second "No-No!": Love Triangle (especially involving "on-the-fence" feelings.)

Third "No-no-Noo!": This one actually went there. .

However, I loved how the hero wanted to love the heroine (though without any reason), how he thought her so precious. It was what endeared him to me, if nothing else. The heroine could have stood to have more substance to her. Just...more. She was blah.

I gave this three stars because it involved a dual POV and some elements that I thought were as racy as they were brave (even if underdeveloped) that the author put in.

This one is very new adult, with a splash of darkness and seediness.

Read it if you want to experience a romance between a naïve girl, who is coming of age, and a guy, who is a kind of a bad-boy, a dark, semi-tortured soul, and man who feels responsibility, even when he shouldn't be obligated to.
