DECEIVED is a new adult, contemporary romance recommended for adult readers due to mature content.

A hotel room.

A blindfold.

An invitation that goes horribly awry.

Now that Seren Flanagan has graduated from college and returned to Creekview, Tennessee, she’s getting reacquainted with her old high school friends, including Cade Mayfield. She had a crush on him in high school but lacked the courage to act on it.

Luckily, she’s not the same shy girl who used to admire him from afar. Knowing what she wants, she sets a plan in motion to capture his attention by inviting him on a trip to Ireland.

But things don’t always go as planned—a lesson that Seren will soon learn the hard way.

DECEIVED is the third book in the WHISKEY NIGHTS series. Since each book focuses on a different couple, they can be read as stand-alones, but many readers may prefer to read them in order for maximum enjoyment.

Deceived is the third book in the Whiskey Nights series. This one tells the story of Cade and Seren.

I've quite enjoyed the first two books, and I wasn't disappointed with Deceived. It's got romance, heartache, and lots of twists and turns.

Seren likes Cade. Cade likes Seren.

Neither one makes any effort to become more than friends...until one fateful day.

Seren leaves a note for Cade with his brother Pax, inviting Cade to Ireland with her. He agrees to go. Fast forward to her arrival in Ireland. The person who walks through the door is not the person she expected. Her trip to Ireland is ruined. Or is it? And what will happen when Seren returns to her home in Creekview?

I don't want to spoil anything, because the book really does have a ton of twists that you won't see coming. It's so good. It's intense, suspenseful, and full of emotion. I loved every second of it.

Pros: Characters were amazingly well-written, plot wasn't too slow or too fast, lots of twists, made me feel a range of emotions. I really enjoyed reading the story of Cade and Seren. They're both wonderful characters, and you can't help but get attached to them. There's also appearances from Lexi and Mason, and Hawk and Amber, both couples from previous books.

Cons: Cade's mother. Total bitch. And when one of the twists happens, she becomes extremely unlikeable. I guess that's not really a con, per se, but I didn't like that character at all. Cade's brother, Pax, is also a character you sort of have this love/hate relationship with. Mostly hate. I also felt a couple of Seren's reactions were a bit over the top. I get why she reacted the way she did, but the one time was a bit childish and immature, and the other time was a little crazy. At least that's how I felt about it.

If you haven't yet read the series, you need to do so. And if you have read Wasted and Ignited, you need to read Deceived ASAP. I highly recommend it! 4 1/2 stars!

ARC provided by the Author for an honest review.

This is the 3rd book in the Whiskey Nights series, can be read as standalone. My first book I've read written by Suzannah Daniels.

We meet Seren Flanagan, She has this major crush on Cade Mayfield but didn't have the nerve to do anything about it... She's back in her hometown Creekview, Tennessee after graduated from college. She's grown more confidence & guts to make her feelings known to Cade.

Her parents have put away some money for Seren for once she's graduated... She has a choice to go to Ireland with a friend or a new car. I like the fact she's so brave & bold to go for what she wants and she clearly wants Cade Mayfield. She writes a letter with an invitation to go to Ireland with her, when she was due to hand the letter over, Cade wasn't at the gym so she gave the letter to his brother Paxton.

Wont give the whole story away.... as there's some surprises which I wont spoil for you because that was something I didn't expect to happen!

I read this in 2 settings, in dual POV's my all time favourite!! YES!! I thoroughly enjoyed it, just wished I read the Book 1 & 2 as they characters do pop in, Honestly I would recommend reading the 1st & 2nd to get the whole picture as Mason & Lexi crack me up... their story is in Book 1 and the 2nd one revolved round Hawk & Amber..

Thanks Suzannah for letting me read this amazing story.

4.5 stars!

I really enjoyed the other books in this series, so I was really excited to read this one! I was looking forward to it releasing, but then I was surprised with an ARC whilst I was on a very long train journey back from a Book Signing, so I decided to start reading it! I didn't read the synopsis before I started reading, but I got over 60% through it in one sitting and loved it! I then decided to save the rest until I got home lol! The plot of this book kept me interested and wanting to read on as it was different to other contemporary books that I've read! The plot of it was different, and I loved that some of it took place in Ireland! I've been to Belfast in Ireland a few times and it was one of the places the characters visited in the book! The plot also developed at a really good pace and it had secrets, romance and a bit of a love triangle in it! I just really enjoyed it and it held me interest all the way through! The characters were also amazing! Seren was the main female character, and I loved her in this book! I did think that inviting a guy you liked on your dream trip to a different country was a little bit extreme to tell him you liked him, but Seren had her reasons and I understood them in a weird way lol! She wanted to be spontaneous and do something different! I loved Seren! I did feel sorry for her in this book at points because her love interest's secret had a big impact on her relationship with him, but Seren also had a few secrets of her own! My heart went out to Seren when I found out her secret! I do think she should have told her love interest because I think he would have been very understanding though! Cade was the main male character, and he was seriously hot! I also wasn't sure what to think about Cade when the secret he was hiding was revealed, but I understood it all after Cade explained his reasons! It actually made me have a lot of respect for him, even if it complicated his life and made it hard for him and Seren to start a relationship! His secret impacted him a lot, but he also found out secrets about his life in this book too, and this made me feel really sorry for him! I loved Cade! He always tried to do the right thing, and I could see that he had deep feelings for Seren! There was the feel of a love triangle in this book, which I wasn't expecting, but it added a lot to the plot and the relationship development between Cade and Seren! I did love both guys, but I was really happy with who Seren picked! I hope the other guy gets his own book though! I loved that this book was written from both Cade and Seren's point of views! It made the plot even better and more interesting! It also helped me connect more with the two characters as well! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I don't know whose book it's going to be, but I have my suspicions! There is one particular character who I think deserves a book! The cover for this book is so pretty and the colour green represents a lot from the book! The cover is also pretty fierce lol! I love how well it suits the other covers in the series and the model on the front is the perfect Seren too! Big thank you to Suzannah for an ARC of Deceived!

Received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review (thank you, Suzannah!)

4.5 / 5 stars

Often when I read these friends-to-lovers stories, I start out by wondering, "Well, what changed?" What happened that the lead female decided to take a second look at the guy? Ok, so the girl has crushed on the guy for a while; what happened that is making her notice that he has been noticing her? Yeah, yeah, I know -- the book has to start somewhere and it would be awfully lengthy if we started at the beginning of some of these relationships, but honestly... What changed?

Seren Flanagan, or just Flanagan to Cade (which, side note, totally puts her in friend-zone if you're thinking guy-terms, but he just wanted to call her something no one else did), wants a change in life before she goes and does the 'adult' thing -- you know, lifelong career, 9-5 days, Monday through Friday. Before that, though, she wants to live just a little. She didn't get that in college so she wants that now. She's always had her eye on Cade, but he's been firmly in friend territory; but with her new goals, who better than Cade to help her live a little?

So she makes this decision, is dancing in their friends' bar, and notices Cade watching her. She wants his eyes on her, I know that, but in my head, if I were her? I would want to know, "Well, what changed?"

I loved the friendships in this book. Right away you get a sense of the camaraderie these people have, in a game as simple as "who you want to be handcuffed to".

"You wanted to be handcuffed to a strange guy, too?" --Seren to Cade

The entire group is paired off, initially leaving single-Seren and single-Cade, but their friendship has always allowed that pairing-off to be easy.

I loved this story. And with the synopsis as it is, you may be surprised (I was) with the location of that particular blindfold scene. The story unfolds far greater than that. Beyond the friends-to-lovers change with Cade and Flanagan, as a reader you get to witness the previous couplings (who I haven't read, but am dying to read their stories based off of their interactions in this book), but also you watch Seren deal with some personal things, as well as Cade -- Cade has a few personal demons that he battles in DECEIVED and they make him question his worth (Cade, you're a good man; don't worry about it all).

I loved Cade, I honestly did. He was a good friend, an adorable flirt, a jokester... but when it came time for the important conversations, he was levelheaded, he knew when to step back and allow room to breath and room to think, and he was mature enough to know that the most important conversations needed to be done face to face.

...and as for what changed? Honestly, nothing. It's that whole self-worth thing that had Cade keeping Flanagan in friend-zone, but when his hand is forced, he steps up and takes his prize -- even if he has to work for it a bit.

Seren Flanagan recently graduated from college, returned home and taken some time off before joining the real world. She's always had her eye on a certain someone for years and she's about ready to make her move. It's risky and unexpected, but that is what makes it so alluring. She's a woman on a mission to get her man one way or another.

Cade Mayfield has found himself between a rock and a hard place. He ran into a friend that was in need of help, so naturally he committed to doing just that. However, just has he made that promise, the one woman he always wanted just walked back into his life. He can't make a move for her affections while keeping his pledge to his friend. Until he can figure out his situation, keeping Seren in the friend zone is all he can do.

Seren puts her plan in motion and everything is going according to plan, at least that is what she thinks until her first night in Ireland. The person standing in front of her isn't who she expected. What happened? How did this go so wrong? What will she do now?

When Cade finds out what happened, his reaction is swift but is it too late? Has he lost the one woman who holds his heart? Or can he win her heart? And what will happen when she finally learns the secret he's been hiding? But Seren has a secret too, one that she fears will have Cade running in the opposite direction. They only way to move forward will be getting everything all out in the open and come what may.

I knew going into this book that I would love Seren, but what I didn't expect was to fall head over heels in love with Cade. He's a made that only wants to help those around him because he's got a huge heart of gold. Sometimes he jumps before looking, but you can't help but love him. It takes a strong man to help a friend the way he did without asking for anything in return. His feelings for Seren are deep and profound, I love how he stops are nothing to prove it to her even when he can't commit to her with his promise hanging over head. He's fought to stay away from her, but you can only fight their dynamic connect for so long.

Seren is a strong willed individual that knows what she wants. After sitting on the sidelines for some time, she's ready to achieve her heart's desire. She will stand her ground, staying true to her integrity. She's honest and expects honesty in return. She has a big heart and loves her family and friends dearly. Her sassiness, loyalty, and love will endear her to you.

I love this series and this book is dazzling. The journey that Seren and Cade take from friends to lovers is superb. With each turning page, your feelings for the couple deepen. It feels like their relationship takes one step forward and then two steps back, but you can't help but hope for the best. The hard truths that come to light could break them, but it only make them stronger. Their love and respect for each other is highlighted with each page, so be prepared to swoon for Cade right along with Seren.

* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *

This is the 3rd book in the Whiskey Nights series, but it can be read as standalone. I have read the previous books and have fallen in love with the characters, the location and the friendships/relationships that the author has developed. The characters are complex and are realistic. They have regular everyday problems and the reader can instantly relate to them. To me that is one of the most important things in a book - that I love the characters and can relate to them. The second is the plot - I want a fresh, fast moving, unpredictable plot and author Suzannah Daniels does an amazing job on this as well.

This one tells the story of Cade and Seren. Seren knows what she wants and thinks that she is within grasping distance of getting it, but as we all know, life has a ton of obstacles to put in the way. Cade wants Seren and so does his brother....who will win? Cade has a secret that no one knows and he wants to keep it this way, but again, life intervenes and the secret comes out - but not in the way Cade hoped it would. This story keeps us guessing from start to finish and the reader thinks they know what is going to happen but in reality they have no idea. This book just flows at a break neck pace that causes the reader to lose all track of time and sense of reality because they are so engrossed in it.

This is an amazing read and one that I highly recommend you jump right into! The entire series is amazing and each book will leave the reader feeling like they have made new friends. If you haven't read this author then you are missing out on what may become your new favorite book/series! Don't hesitate to jump into the series - it may be the best book that you read this year! Once you meet these characters you will be hooked!

Unrequited love...

Seren goes to amazing lengths to get Cade to notice her by inviting him on a trip of a lifetime to Ireland. Life rarely goes to plan and Seren gets a massive surprise and secrets are spilled. Seren has to do a lot of soul searching before deciding to take the path with Cade.

Cade has always had feelings for Seren but got himself into a situation which could ruin his chances with Seren forever. His actions are laudable and show him for the caring, generous man he is but it could backfire on him as he tries to fulfil his promises while trying to follow his heart.

Seren's star shines brightly as she shows compassion and support despite her own insecurities. It is her chance of a lifetime to be with her one love.

I loved the trip to Ireland and the Irish sayings which brought a smile to me as they are so familiar to me. The Irish culture and scenery were beautifully described and made you feel as though you were right there with them.

Suzannah Daniels always manages to surprise with the twists and turns that the story takes and this was no exception. Just when you think you know where the story is going, you get hit by a twist that leaves you thinking. A fantastic author and another beautiful story.

While reading this book I instantly felt that Cade had a big secret, so I threaded carefully not to fall in love or like him because I hate secrets, he has that flirty side down pact though, “if you want to make the most of it, come back to bed.” I patted the spot she had just vacated beside me." Once I got really into the book I fell for Cade, but at times I was more interested in a different situation that involved Pax, so I'm eagerly waiting for his book.

5 Stars!

New author alert! Well for me anyway, ha! This series is amazing. Each book is a standalone, though I recommend you reading them in order. Each book was better than the next and left me hanging, wanting more from each person we met along the way. This series is sexy, edgy, passionate, steamy, full of twists and turns, and has sexy alpha males who will make you swoon... hard.

This book was amazing. Full of passion and intensity, this love story will put you through a range of emotions. With secondary characters that make you laugh and smile, this romance has a that spark that keeps me coming back wanting more. This author did an amazing job weaving an a beautiful love story that showed me the importance of forgiveness and falling in love.

This is Seren and Cade's story. Starting off with a bang, dive back into Whiskey Nights with one girl who plans to get her man and live a little. Seren has always crushed on Cade. Now she has a plan she wants to set into motion. Invite him to Ireland and let the seduction begin. But her plans go astray and now things are different. Cade is a man who has his own demons he is battling. As these two spend time together, they grow closer. And when secrets come to light and their pasts laid bare. Can they find a way to their own happy ending like the others around them? Get ready to be a cheerleader for Seren and Cade like I was because if anyone deserved a happy ending, these two definitely did! And that ending was absolutely PERFECT for Serena and Cade... swoon!

I highly recommend this book and series.

When I opened up to the first page, my immediate thought was that I felt like I was being reunited with old friends.

Seren has had a crush on Cade for as long as she can remember. She's just out of college and planning one last hurrah before buckling down and becoming a grown up.

Cade is the middle of the Mayfield boys. All gorgeous and all partners in the hottest gym in town. Cade also has a crush on Seren, but he's dealing with something that makes him hesitate to start something with her.

That something is a huge bomb that I was not expecting. I love that each of the books in this series has an element of surprise.

Cade is such a great guy. And you really get a sense of how great when you find out what he's dealing with.

Seren is fun, sassy and loyal. And don't piss her off or you might find yourself without clothing in a foreign country!

Overall, I adore this whole series, and this book is no exception. The way she writes each book makes you feel like you're there; that you're part of the gang. I know it's not realistic, but I really don't ever want this series to end. I can't wait to see whose story she brings us next. I really hope its Cades older brother Paxton!

First I just want to say thank you to Suzannah for giving me the opportunity to read an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review. I LOVE this series and I was so excited to dive into this book I knew it was going to be yet another amazing read.

Deceived did not let me down. I love this book from beginning to end. The writing was amazing. Seren and Cade's story was everything a good love story is made of. Secrets, heartbreak, lies, deception and in the end a love to conquer it all. The Ireland back drop was great I'm of Irish decent so it was cool to hear of all of the places I'd love to see one day. Deceived put me on a roller coaster of emotion. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at the characters and to me nothing says "good book" like a story that makes me feel real emotion. I can't wait to find out who will be center stage in Whiskey Nights book #4.

This one starts off with an interesting twist. The mystery doesn't stop there as the two main characters Seren and Cade both have some revelations that come out along the way. I liked the fact that we spend some of the time in a different country, I think it gave a bit more depth to the story. I had many emotions through out from laughter to feeling unsure, to wondering what was going to happen next. It seemed as if the world was working against them at times. All in all it was a great story that moved at a great pace and kept me flipping the pages. This can be read as a standalone although I think you get a better feel for the other characters having read their stories.

It starts with friendship...goes on to include a proposition that can't be refused. Next comes the crazy, unwanted and totally uncalled for surprise. A trip that brings them closer together and secrets that keep them worlds apart.

Family and personal secrets, lies of omission. Everything, and I do mean everything, seems to be working against Cade and Seren. Road blocks are thrown up at them at every turn.

All the secrets and crazy happenings in this book make it a fast paced, captivating read. A lot of emotion in it, a lot of wanting to shake the characters to make them see how things could be just so EASY!

Really well written, awesome characters, and a unique storyline. I really did love this book!

I have to say I really liked Seren and Cade's story, of course I knew them from the previous books but it was nice to actually really know them, to see more of them and learn all the things we did in their story. Lots and lots of things happened. Couple of twists in the story that I was not expecting. But I really loved all of it, specially when they went to Ireland. There was a funny part while they were there and also a very romantic one.
My favorite part was the end, not because it ended but because it was super romantic. It was like the perfect HEA.
Can't wait for the next one in the series, I wonder who the couple is going to be....

Another smash hit by Susannah Daniels!! I was excited to be able to read another book from this author. Deceived has given us an insight to the things real people face in the world. The love that Cade shares with Flanagan is something that you could actually feel and hope for one day in your life. Great job knocking this book out of the park! Anxiously waiting for book 4 in the series

I really want to know if Seren falls pregnant.
