“𝙈𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙨 𝙬𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨.”

•Set in the quiet yet eerie village of Govindpur in UP, Mythrun, what appears to be a simple night of storytelling between two journalists, Shyam Chakroborty and Prantik Nag. On a stormy night, Prantik shares a haunting tale from his childhood, rooted in the chilling legend of a cursed Tamarind tree and a tragic love story that has lingered in the whispers of the village for generations.

•The narrative first immerses us in the unsettling atmosphere of Govindpur, drawing us into the myth surrounding the tree. From there, the story shifts and deepens, following Shyam and Prantik as they begin to investigate the truth behind the tale,  the lines between myth and reality blur and the story uncovers something dark and hidden that chills you. It raises a powerful question "Are myths really just stories, or do they hide truths waiting to be discovered?" And what comes out by the end will grasp you emotionally and mentally, leaving you with more "WHAT", in the best way. The slow beginning feels calm on the surface but it quietly builds an eerie atmosphere that you don’t even realize is wrapping itself around you until you’re fully immersed and trust me, you can’t predict how it's going to end, there are no obvious hints and that’s what makes the twist so impactful.

•Another thread runs through the tale, the return of Khadag Singh, who had once left the village after the death of his wife. Now, he comes back as a powerful, wealthy man where he gets married and his first wife son, Bhola, who despite the palace like home, lives more like a prisoner. The dynamic between Bhola and Panch is tender but imperfect, shaped by their own backgrounds and struggles. Their story, though not flawless carries raw charm and emotion. The part about Kundan is still stuck in my head, so unexpected, so layered, I’m still thinking about it. And let’s not forget the beautiful poetry woven into certain scenes, along with well placed Bollywood references that add richness without taking away from the intensity. The scene building is cinematic and I honestly wish it gets adapted into a movie someday.

•Even with different timelines, the narrative is smooth and never confusing. The writing is simple, clean and emotionally effective, there’s no unnecessary fluff. Every chapter serves a purpose, every emotion is genuine and every twist hits hard. The ending is haunting, satisfying and lingers long after you close the book, giving spooky, mysterious and gothic vibes. In short, this book is not just a story, it’s an experience. One that grips you, chills you and stays with you and here I’m still not over it.

•If you love stories that mix spooky myth, mystery, emotion and unpredictable ending then this book is a must read. It has a slow, haunting build up that keeps you curious and the twist will leave you speechless.

Myth Run: Chasing Legends is a gripping psychological thriller that masterfully blends mythology, folklore, and modern-day storytelling. Aleius Sofar invites readers into a world where ancient legends aren’t just tales.

The story unfolds through the eyes of Shyam Chakraborty and Prantik Nag, two journalists who embark on an investigation into the origins of fear itself. Set against the backdrop of a monsoon evening, their conversation about ghost stories and urban legends quickly evolves into a deeper exploration of how myths shape our perceptions, fears, and cultural identity.

The author narrative style is atmospheric and immersive. The rainy, dimly lit setting adds a layer of suspense, while the dialogue between Shyam and Prantik is rich with philosophical musings on the nature of fear and belief.

This book take us deep into the village of govindpur where the old tamarind tree hold dark secrets and a haunting past 🖤

The story begins with the incomplete love story of tulsi and kundan.
Bhola and panchavarnam are the character who stayed in my heart long after I finish the story. Their love breaked my heart into little 🙂🤍

As a malayali unni thamboothiri feels special to me. And the Malayalam words in this books gives me goosebumps and excitement 🤩🖤

The author deftly explores how myths persist, evolve, and sometimes hold dangerous truths beneath their surface.

Reading this Book is feels like watching a thriller, romantic and horror movie. So I really wish to watch this story into bigscreen 😻

The moment you start reading it you will never know what is going to happen till the last page .the twists in this book going to hit you so hard 🤭

The ending is unpredictable 😵😵‍💫.
I really liked it! Gripping and full of mystery 🤍 you’ll never regret reading this💯💯

📚Book review: Mythrun: Chasing legends by Aleius Sofar

Ever wondered how it feels when fables and myths that you chase turns out to be something bigger lurking in the whole picture entirely? Well Mythrun is a fascinating concept revolving around that exactly.

The story finds us in the village satire of Govindpur and it's Myths circling around its centuries old Tamarind tree. It lurks ,rooted in the minds of the whole Govindpur; with it's terrifying history of various cursed stories and haunting history that sticks to it.

Shyam Chakroborty and Prantik Nag, one stormy night recalls a legend like that , the story that has less eyes but more mouths to talk about. A tale of two lovers — bound by their tragic seperation that stays in those fables till date.

On the other hand ,Khadag singh has come back to Village with his only son , Bholanath singh, reeking of money and Authority though Bhola has been deprived of that privilege, his life is in the shadows and dedicated to servitude in the palace that feels strangely like a prison than home .

As prantik and Shyam dig deeper in that legendary tale , something comes to the surface - A secret so haunting that is bound to make one run chills down one's spine.
Are myths really present in the same way they are told? can the end of one story be the start of another?

📚💖📚💖

MYTHRUN: chasing legends weaves a fantastic tale that had kept me hooked right from its first page. The whole concept along with vivid scenary paints a picture so real that it feels you are present there with the characters, sitting beside them, observing them. The scenes play out like a movie! ( honestly I would love to see it as a movie 🍿 😍)

The author writes not just with words but with their feeling and perception - Posing a mirror of Human emotions through their characters– Lust, Rage, frustration, Love and Innocence, Ego and admiration , heartbreak, jealousy– All emotions are weaved intricately for the reader to feel .

The narration is Wonderfully straightforward and clear , without hitch for any difficult vocabulary or confusing Pov. One scene shifts to another like one puzzle piece coming across the other piece, jumping from one place to another but at the end it all comes together, Making the picture complete at the end.

See these lines from introduction -

" 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘴?
𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘴 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥. 𝘖𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵. 𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘦. "

The themes of Societal perception and the essence of love are explored well, the story is full of suspense and mystery that I absolutely devoured! what captured my heart was it's conclusion, the twist was shocking ofcourse! But what comes after was satisfying too😌❤️.

Overall, Mythrun surprised me 😌 in a very good and unexpected way , A read that is bound to entertain its readers till the end ! With its absolute thrilling twists and unpredictable storyline, I was unable to put it down! I loved the characters, you'll understand which ones I meant. The chemistry between characters was perfect ( yep ,we are talking about soul shattering eternal love 😌) there are poetry verses throughout the book , making the scenes more captivating, giving it more meanings. And as the cover ,there are old Bollywood classic refrences- why? - you'll understand after reading 🤭

The book gave me a suspenseful mystery and gothic vibes , with its conclusion and storyline throughout. There's a trope hidden for you to find out which is the part of big twist. There are ways to tell a story and ways to listen it , beliefs are often dependent on one's own self 😉 I think I'll reread it again and again in a cozy weather just to enjoy again.

I'll recommend it for those who love a good suspense and storyline that are unpredictable and not seen coming ❤️ Dive into it without any expectations, comes out with a surprise! A read full of suspense, Mystery and thrill!

Myths are to be enjoyed and relished, no one tends to question them or examine them, but the story here begins when the senior journalist Shyam Chakraborty starts to dig deeper into those myths, when his junior Prantik narrates a story which was taken place long back in the village of Govindpur, Uttarpradesh.

The story begins with the death of Tulsi Bhai hanging under the Tamarind Tree and the story of Bholnath and Panchavarnam and more….

The author takes you to the time period of the 80's where the story builds its place. You will feel the depth of each word which carries more memories to relish and emotional depth of each character has been woven very explicitly, so that the readers will feel those emotions well. The author has really written a masterpiece you will be filled with old cherished songs, poems and the old Hindi movies.

Even though we are in the century beyond it, we know regarding the ways before us has unfurled with rules and had its own ruggedness. These days people are fond of gossiping, a small loop hole that spreads to the whole village. The Zamindars are filled with arrogance and the whole lot they are god or something, the poor were treated ill, women felt the eyes on them. Some lost their conscience and danced to the rhythms, some wishes were not filled as they went, behind the glitters to finally alter their mind. They treated their own flesh as something sinful.

The village had its own beauty, with big trees, paddy fields, forest, river, dusty roads, big palace to small huts, all the people carried their own life with what they had left. It has seen the romance and love, which touches your soul, Some are left to haunt, make their way out, find the way yet they don't regain what they lost, go mad, stilled within themselves which leads to self realization. Some found forbidden love and lived to their dreams, which left them to roam.

The jaw dropping plot twist, the soul felt read, the story stays deep in you where you go, you won’t forget the impact it gives you. Reality checks are made several times, got me into the depth, I cried, loved got some chills, felt lost deep in,I fall in love with the love found within , I fought with those things the story fought , travelled with them till the end, a wonderfully woven piece of art , the words get clung to your hearts, the characters emotions stays with you after you finish. A silence for all. This is not a story but something real where some souls missed to live in their life.

I would love to see this book on screen. It's worth it. But reading really felt very deep and oh my god, just can’t put it in words , so go grab the book and start to read you won’t regret.

MYTH RUN by Aleius Sofar is a tale that involves myths and legends that are often circulated among people...the truth behind these stories are unknown but digging them deep can lead to something unexpected!!

The tale begins in a mystical village Govindpur this village seems mysterious, the huge Tamrind is directly related with all the mysterious activities happening in the village.

The village and ambience around Tamrind tree has been presented in such a lively manner that it almost made me want to visit this village. The nature scenery has been presented beautifully.

Many tale revolve around the Tamrind tree and people of Govindpur leading to the story of Khadag Singh and his son Bholanath Singh. One more plot runs through the novel that involves Shyam Chakraborty and Pranthik Nag.

The novel is really well written and the suspense factor is always there in the story...you can never correctly guess what will happen next. This novel will break your heart many times...just when you think now everything is settled, nothing bad will happen...just then the plot twist will shock you also

The tale is really heart touching, something that will have impact on your mind and heart for very long time. I smiled, cried and lived with the characters. I felt I was living in the story!! that's the magic of writer Aleius Sofar

I will always think of Bhola and Panchavarnam always cherish the moments between them .

“Myth Run” is a hauntingly beautiful exploration of oral legends, love stories, and the twisted truths time conceals. Set in Govindpur, the narrative revolves around an ancient tale of a tamarind tree—its eerie presence and the love stories rooted around it. The legend carries two interwoven romances: Kundan and Tulsi, and the more pivotal tale of Bholanath and Panchavarnam, whose love defied language, region, and social class.

What begins as folklore passed down through generations evolves into a thrilling race for truth, led by Shyam Chakraborty, a world-renowned author. As he digs deeper, myth and reality blur, leading to a climax that’s unexpected, chilling, and deeply emotional. The tree itself feels like a character—ominous, sacred, and cursed, anchoring the horror that subtly crawls in.

Aleius Sofar’s writing masterfully builds suspense, weaving love, horror, and myth into a narrative that leaves readers questioning the stories we inherit. The horror sequences—especially around the hauntings—are spine-chilling, yet it’s the emotional depth that gives this tale its soul.

If you enjoy folk horror with a romantic core, spine-tingling mysteries, and emotionally resonant storytelling, Myth Run is a must-read. The twist at the end is one you won’t see coming.

✨An unputdownable blend of legend and literature.

📖 Review — Myth Run: Chasing Legends by Aleius Sofar

"Why am I probing into the origins of stories and their evolution into myths?
Perhaps it's just a diversion, keeping you away from the place where a story is about to unfold. Or perhaps it isn't. You'll see."

Rainy nights have their own kind of magic... the kind that makes you want to talk about old ghost stories and the myths we grew up with. In Myth Run, two journalists do exactly that… except their casual conversation begins to twist, and the myths stop feeling so distant. The line between storyteller and subject? Almost invisible.

This one felt like sitting by a dim lamp, listening to voices drop lower with every chapter, the air growing heavier until you’re wondering if you just heard something move. It’s not just about the supernatural... it’s about curiosity, the thrill of chasing what shouldn’t be chased, and the way stories can pull you in until you’re no longer just reading them.

If you like the sound of rain, folklore at midnight, and the quiet kind of fear that settles in your bones… this might be your next late-night read.

Some books entertain, some leave you thoughtful and some, like Myth run: Chasing Legends, stay with you like a story passed down in hushed voices around a fire.

Set in the atmospheric village of Govindpur, Aleius Sofar masterfully blends horror, myth, romance, and tragedy into a tale that grips both heart and mind. The cursed tamarind tree stands tallnnot just as a background setting but as a character that roots the entire legend in place. The narrative's strength lies not just in its suspenseful mystery but in its deep emotional current.

The love story of Bholanath and Panchavarnam moved me in unexpected ways. Their connection despite language, class, and distance felt achingly real. This isn’t just a tragic romance; it’s a meditation on memory, inherited fear, and how stories evolve through generations.

What begins as an eerie tale shared between two journalists turns into a journey of uncovering truths long buried. The writing is vivid, the tension masterfully built, and the ending… left me stunned and hollow in the best way.

It’s not just about myths it’s about why we believe them, what truths they hide, and how deeply they can wound or heal us.

Myth run is a novel about two journalists Shyam chakrobarty and prantik nag, who delves into the origin of fears, fables and myths on one Friday night. But myths are meant to be enjoyed, relished like old wines but never truly questioned. No one really probes in it. but what if someone did? what if the line between storytelling and reality began to blur?

The book is set in 90's, the village, the tamarind tree, the people of the village ,the characters of the book is so very well written that at one point it feels that you are witnessing the whole story Infront of your eyes

A story about a boy named bholanath singh who deeply fells in love with a girl from south named panchavarnam. They don't even understand each other's language still has a deep love story which will be forever in your heart, a pure form of love which I have only encountered in Aleius Sofar books.
This pure form of love is somehow comforting to me, but the way it ends always gives me goosebumps.
A must read ❤️

This book dives into storytelling and how storytelling evokes myths, fear, and importance of it. Two journalists, Shyam and Prantik, dive into a conversation about fables and folklore about ghost stories that instill paranoia in people. The story also introduces us to Govindpur village, where a tamarind tree carries secrets too dark and the history of many years. As Shyam and Prantik discuss these old legends, myths come very close to reality.

I loved this book. It had my attention from the start till the end. A few parts were emotional, few were eerie, and others were mysterious. Blending all these together has been done masterfully. I've already read the author’s work before, and I love their way of storytelling. The love stories were heartbreaking, they just touched my heart. The horror elements were equally eerie, which I loved as I'm a huge horror fan. Overall, this was a perfect read for me

Myth Run: Chasing Legends is a beautiful book with mix of folklore, memory, and suspense. It is not just about myths, it’s about the way they live inside us. It made me think about all the tales I grew up hearing how some felt silly, but others left a mark on me long after the words were spoken. The atmosphere is the strongest part of the book. It has a slow, creeping suspense that makes you feel like you’re sitting in the room with the characters, listening to their stories. The writing is smooth, the characters feel genuine, and the atmosphere is haunting without being heavy. What I liked best about the book was that it was never rushed. It allows the myths, fears, and emotions to unfold at their own pace. This makes it feel more real and relatable. Instead of jump scares or exaggerated drama, the book relies on mood, memory, and quiet tension which to me, feels far more powerful. If you’re looking for something thoughtful, mysterious, and atmospheric, this book is a great choice.

Not just a story — it's a deep dive into the evolution of myths, human fear, and the beauty of storytelling itself.

At its heart, it’s a tragic love story, but not the usual kind.
💔 Bholanath and Panchavarnam — their love story is the kind that stays with you.
They didn't even speak the same language, but their hearts understood each other. That kind of love… it’s rare. It made me emotional.

It’s one of those books that makes you think about the stories we’ve grown up hearing and why they stay with us.

I expected a horror tale…
👻 But what I got was completely unexpected...
It’s about myths and truth, love and loss.

And the plot twist? I did not see that coming 😱

If you love:
🌿 Rural folklore vibes
🧣 Haunting love stories
🧠 Stories that make you question reality
🪵 Legends passed down over generations
This will leave you spellbound.
