4.5 stars. A great story full of big feelings and struggles. Max, the victim of a particularly religious upbringing, didn't have the ability to cope with his relationship with Sebastian years ago. This story focuses a lot on how he finally realised that he needed help and got it. The other characters were really quite sweet and very supportive. A very touching second chance romance.
Max and Sebastian's 5-year journey was a study in self-acceptance and self-awareness. Max was well aware that his upbringing left damage. The distance of those 5 years gave him perspective. He and Sebastian were wonderful characters, I really enjoyed watching them finally get the happiness they both deserved.
Having grown up in a religious family, I could understand Max and his issues. While I am not a member of the LGBT community, I could empathize with Max and his feelings for Sebastian. It was a great book that had me laughing, crying, and every emotion between.

hmmm I'm still not sure what I think about this one. Max and Sebastian were both interesting characters... Max probably the most. Max has quit a journey throughout the book. He's coming to terms with his sexuality and with decisions he made in the past that had a great deal of influence on his life, his band's and Sebastian.
I think what fell short a little for me was the progression. There were times when I got a little lost in terms of what Max's motivation was in the past... and the progression to the person he was becoming. The pacing was a bit random.
Overall, I enjoyed the story...but I felt as though I could have known more about the characters!
