After being released from the juvenile detention center, she has to find her way. Numb and still learning about herself, she meets Andrew, Axel and Ezra. These three guys come into her life when she needs them the most. While developing feelings for them, she learns more about what she is. Thinking she's a witch that was bitten by a werewolf, she turns to her mentor for help. Jesse Brooks is a fallen familiar that was rebuked when his last charge destroyed herself by becoming obsessed with power. Without anyone in his world to help, he meets Envy struggling in the woods after having growled at her.
Her father has been absent since she was born. Having never been there for her, she's used to relying on herself. Turning to the guys to help keep her safe, they offer her something she's always wanted but has never had. Family and friendship. Upon releasing all her anger and hatred with Jesse's help, she ends up activating her phoenix and being reborn. With a target on her back, she also has to endure her father's funeral.

I wanted to like it. The idea had interest. I just couldn’t get behind the execution. She meets the guys and then trusts them right away? Tells them her big secret. Googles about what her powers are and go with it. Has a father she’s seen 3 times in her life but he provides everything for her. She just knows he’s dead because her trust got all his money. However nobody else knows where he is or what happened to him. His lawyer doesn’t know anything. Who transferred the money? That’s not how things work. She sold everything within hours of her finding out she has his money. He was only missing 2 days at this point. And she gives her friends million dollar watches after knowing them a few weeks. Everything is so completely unrealistic with no world building to explain any of it. It feels like the author must not really understand how the world works if this is how they think things go.

Envy is going to be a strong FMC when she learns to control her powers. I really liked the guys and how easy they were to accept her with everything that she is.

Written in present tense? Very elementary style. I wake up. I brush my teeth. I put on my pants and top. I go to my truck. I drive to school. Very strange, dnf.
