I have to admit here that I go all a bit fan girly where the wonderful Colleen Vanderlinden is concerned and I love her books with a passion that is second to none where my great love of reading is concerned. Her Hidden series is truly wonderful and this novella takes place between Strife (book 4) and Nether (book 5, yet to be released). It features Hephaestus, or Heph as he's known to friends. He stood out to me throughout the last couple of books as being a truly wonderful, amazing, kick ass, handsome, yummy son of a God. From the moment he first appeared on the page I wanted to know more. And here, in this instalment that the lovely Colleen has realeased for free to her readers via a newsletter before publication, is pure satisfaction.
Heph shines from the page and Meaghan is truly perfect for him in every way. Both a little bit broken and damaged in the love department (ok Heph is broken a lot) they understand each other immediately and Heph does all and everything to keep Meaghan safe from her nasty stinking ex, including fight his half brothers and father (Zeus no less). Meaghan herself is an earth witch and not without pretty awesome powers of her own. She forms an instant friendship with Molly and the crew and is welcomed into the loft. She is warm and soft but running through her is a core of steel and the love that grows between her and Heph is a truly beautiful and heart warming thing. This story is a must read for all who have come to know and love the Hidden series and Heph becomes the truly awesome amazing guy that we all knew he was. If he were real I'd have a restraining order taken out against me!
Colleen please don't ever stop writing, these stories are pure gold.
Earth Bound is more paranormal romance and is Hephaestus's story. He has chosen to follow Mollis back and help in the human world. I like Hephaestus and hoped he would get his own happily ever after. His interactions with Nain and Mollis are funny. Earth Bound is a great read, and I love this world.
I absolutely love the world that Colleen Vanderlinden has created! So many great characters. Heph is one of those great characters and deserves the spotlight! I can't get enough.
