More fun times and history!

Another house, another mystery to solve! Pretty simplistic sometimes, but very fun. Great characters, interesting sightseeing, and lots of food, and History!

I absolutely love this series! Soft mystery with lots of adventure and sightseeing thrown in, including an audience with the queen for solving a mystery.

This time Joan and Alen agree to sit for an American couple who live in London, and care for their two well mannered labradoodles. Their duties include helping out in the consignment shop along with the other two American co-owners of the shop. Of course with their charming and outgoing manner, they quickly become fast friends with Tommy and Grace, who share their adventures with them.

What a great read for someone who would enjoy housesitting in such a delightful place. The home owners. Addison and Layne, even arrange for them to take free meals at their friends' tea room, pub, and restaurant.

Excellent

I read this book out of turn because I read book one, then book 3 before I read this one. I probably should have read them in order as there was a reference or two in book 3 about this book 2, but in the end I don't think it made a lot of difference. However, I think I liked the story set in London, my favorite. This story had a good mystery of both theft and murder to solve. I enjoyed the day description of the various tourist attractions the main characters, Joan and Allen, went to. Then I discovered the list of recipes and the photo album of the sites that Joan took on her and Alan's various activities. There is something for everyone here, from the avid cook to the armchair traveler. The mystery was well done and the details in the story just made the story seem real. I love this series and cannot wait to read more!

Consigned to death

This second story in the Housesitters series finds Joan & Alen Arney in London. House sitting plus some storekeeping as well as 2 gorgeous Labradoodles Lizzie & Darcy sounds like a lot of fun. Addison and husband, Layne Cotton, American expats, own 'Love It or Thrift It', a consignment store along with Grace & Thomas, expats as well. Addison & Layne are going back to Arkansas for a wedding. Grace & Thomas will help run the shop as well. The adventure begins when a lady drops off a box to be put on consignment. When a rival store owner is killed, police come looking for the absent Cottons & grill Joan & Alen on why they're living in the house/shop. Once the police establish their bona fides, taking their leave, Joan suspects her earlier visitor may have something to do with the murder. Arlen doesn't want to get involved but Joan alongside Grace with her reluctant Tommy, hunts for information that leads them to the V&A museum. But why is Addison not answering emails or phone calls? Could the cops be right that they've fled to the U.S.? And will Alen continue his cooking lessons, learning to make haggis in time for Burns Night? There's a surprise twist at the end of this cosy mystery about this couple sho find a whole new life in retirement.

Once again one of my favorite cozeymystery writers has come through for me. Uptight Brits vs intellectual yanks. House sitters from the USA are in London sitting for and helping run a store with others from the USA. When unfortunately there has been a murder and our house sitters and fellow Americans are finding the London detectives wanting to believe outsiders as easy targets to accuse. This mystery is full of intreage and humor as well as the educational facts made fun and other wanderfull surprises along the way .I would really, really suggest you aquier a copy and start reading "Leveled in London "so you yourself can enjoy reading it as much as I have. ☺😮🤔🙄🤔🙄😏😊 Kat

Very enjoyable. These books are easy to like and have lots of travel information. The main characters are people I would like to meet. The first 2 of the 3 in the series set everything up nicely. Reading the prequel gives the background for their story. I didn’t care for the third book, as I thought there was too much repetition and too many details of the area, but look forward to more in the series

Deserves More Than 5 stars!

I absolutely love this series. Each book is like getting a postcard from a traveling friend detailing all of their adventures. Stories are well written with wonderful characters. I love that the books don’t just end with the resolution of the crime, it continues on a little and makes the adventure feel complete. On to Venice next! I can’t wait!!
