CHAOS!
Ironic for a master of strings, now everything unravels. All thread snap in Doflamingo's hands. All his puppets fall down and stop moving. All is chaos. All is glorious. This is Dressrosa at its best.
Well, there's still the big Sabo reveal, which is a bit of a point of contention. But even that was largely set up in previous volumes so it doesn't drag this one down so bad. But even now after all these years, it feels weird. Kill off one precious brother, it's okay, there's a spare. All these questions about where he was all this time or how come Ace wasn't aware of him, the awkward amnesia thing later on... still don't like it.
Could've just given the fruit to Rebecca, she's becoming increasingly useless. Let her take up the role of the rebel and join the Revolutionaries or something. Let her grow as a character and become truly important in the grand scheme of things. Alas.

2025 reread : I love this section of Dressrosa. It's a lot of fun. Between the previous tournament participants having to team up, Law being carried around like a sack of potatoes and everyone running around like headless chickens; there is a lot to laugh about. I also love the Sabo reveal, I don't care that it was obvious that it was Sabo who replaced Luffy in the arena, I still like that reveal(though I can probably argue with myself for hours about if I like some stuffs about Sabo's character or not. But this reveal I like. Let's not think further than that).

This is going faster and faster. I love how Luffy is able to rally people around him. And I'm loving how Trafalgar reacts to all of it, the dude probably regrets his life choices by now ^^

Any written media will get an additional star for making me laugh, if I laugh out loud I will give you 5 stars.
Usopp’s bounty made me smile very hard. That bumps this whole show up.
And finally things are in motion. We are at the apex of the conflict. Doflamingo is reveling in the chaos just as he was during marineford. All bets are off and the world is being turned upside down. This is a fun volume.

This starts off with Sugar being defeated and everyone restored and Luffy and all take the fight to Doflamingo and they have to handle the different hurdles thrown at them and have to battle with Pico, the stone mountain guy and some other escape routes meanwhile others get Trafalgar's heart and all and they meet at Sunflower fields to take down Doflamingo. Next up other things go on and Sabo fights the Marines to protect his brother! Epic stuff and emotional one too, some of the fight scenes especially multiple ones are insanely well done.

Avanzo lento pero al menos sigo avanzando 😅 bueno es que no me quiero alcanzar con el anime y hoy casi casi me pase 🤣
Falta muy poquito para empezar la historia de Law, Doffy ya lo estaba recordando. El volumen partió con todos los juguetes volviendo a ser humanos y la gente recordando lo que había olvidado, obviamente se enojaron con Doflamingo y este perdiendo la paciencia invoco su jaula de pájaros y dio comienzo al juego. Maten o mueran. Dió las recompensas a los 12 cabecillas y se fue a su lugar a esperar.
De esta forma los implicados (los muwis que se quedaron, Law, Rebecca, Viola, el rey Riku, Sabo, Kinemon y kyros) se están dirigiendo al palacio para enfrentar a Doffy mientras tienen demoras con la gente y los piratas que los quieren atrapar por las recompensas. La futura flota se vuelven sus aliados, la mayoría por Usopp y el resto por sus propios motivos. De momento los únicos que tienen un rival claro son Zoro vs Pica y Franky vs Sr Pink, dónde ya empezaron a luchar. Ah y Sabo que está reteniendo a Fujitora para que no vaya tras Luffy.

DRESSROSA ARC - PART 5
1. SABO BELONGS TO THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY!!! ohhh my god, that is so cool. i love seeing him back
2. for a second i forgot that sanji, nami etc went to zou already and was wondering where they were lmaoo
3. so that's why he's got corazon tattooed on him, and why he's probably called heart pirate. being strapped with bombs is crazy as a child. how did law grow up?
4. there's so much going on, so many fights and steps to keep track of. this one is very convoluted but one thing is certain: law is being carried around by luffy like a sack of potatoes.

There is still a lot of stuff going on. We keep making slow progress with each POV. I would prefer to have more progress and less POVs, as keeping track of all of this is a little difficult for me. However, I am really liking the direction that everything is headed. Also large surprise/reveal that I should have seen coming, but it was a great reveal!

Is it even fair to include the manga and comics I read in the reading challenge? I go thru those like one drinks water. None the less, one piece is the greatest manga ever and this volume only continues to satisfy the readers worldwide. Unusual twist and call backs to early motivations of the characters over 13 years ago keep those of us faithful to the series continually impressed with oda and his nearly perfect if world building

Meanwhile, the Smile Factory is under siege, and Luffy climbs the palace to fight Doflamingo directly. The chaos and emotion are at full blast. Every Straw Hat is in motion.

Dressrosa is rapidly approaching its climax and it really looks like it means to deliver in the next few volumes after this! Loved the opening few chapters of this volume where the toys turned back into people and everyone’s memories of them came back (Rebecca remembered her daddy). Even better was GOD USOPP!!! It’s mostly played for laughs because of how unintentional his takedown of Sugar was and everyone misunderstanding his moans of pain for divine wisdom. But there’s a measure of heartwarming involved with this hilarity seeing the Tontatta’s faith in GOD USOPP be rewarded and the hardened Colosseum fighters being grateful for freeing them. It helped before things heated up with Doflamingo’s enemies rallying against him making Mingo create a new nightmarish scenario for the people of Dressrosa. A big wrinkle but expected considering how there’s still a few volumes left in the arc and Mingo not being a pushover. But things aren’t done yet and even with the island against them, Luffy and friends are well on their way to freeing the island.
Other moments of note:
- Confirming what the reader suspected, SABO IS BACK!
- I appreciate Oda Sensei for including the dialogue boxes to remind the reader who the various Colosseum fighters were. Still don’t care about most of them even if they’re now helping GOD USOPP and Luffy but it was a nice reminder.
- Pika having a high pitched voice is probably one of those moments that would work better in the anime.
- They’re evil but its oddly sweet hearing Mingo calling his crew his family. The Straw Hats are basically a found family so why can’t reprehensible monsters like the Don Quixote pirates be the same?

Sugar forced Usopp to eat grape filled with tatababasco. Usopp face turned to weird and scary and knocked Sugar out. The curse of Hobi Hobi no Mi is lifted. All the toys turned into normal. Dressrosa is in turmoil. Usopp was praised as a god, God Usopp.
At Corrida Colosseum, Lucy destroyed the whole ring. In the chaos, he got the Mera Mera no Mi and eat it. He got Ace's power and escape from the ring. It turned out that the mysterious man is Sabo, who mistakenly being dead. Now he is Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army.
Doflamingo used his technique to put a big birdcage around Dressrosa. People cannot go out, communication with outside world was cut and some of them were controlled to kill each other. Doflamingo make a game, all the people can kill him to stop the birdcage or the people can kill a certain people for him. He will pay 100 million for every stars.

*Se pone en pie y jalea cada uno de los puñetazos*
Estoy disfrutando este arco como un enano. Trafalgar sube puestos en mi lista de personajes favoritos, y eso que sólo sale un par de veces, y el gran regreso de este tomo otro tanto de lo mismo. Sanji, se te comen la tostada.
Hablando de Sanji: creo que es muy buena opción lo que ha hecho Oda aquí de quitarse de encima un puñado de personajes, porque este arco tiene todo el dinamismo que no tenía el de la ciudad acuática (y eso que hay MÁS personajes aún, pero muchos los trata como un conjunto y eso es bueno).

Kyros heads straight for Doflamingo to enact his revenge. Doflamingo survives the beheading somehow and places his own bounties on the heads of everyone working for the Straw Hats. Surprisingly Usopp’s is the highest at 500,000,000 berries.
I knew Sabo wasn’t dead! If I don’t see a body it’s not official in my eyes 😆 He’s now going to help his brother 💕
