more like 3.5, I don't think it's Aoyama fault's i don't understand kanji or know much about jap culture.

One that probably works best in its mother tongue language as the English translations for one of the main cases don’t aid the mystery if you’re unfamiliar with Kanji. Still, it’s always nice to see flashbacks with the parents, and two full cases feels like a rare commodity that really does make the volume feel longer and more like a complete package.

Caso F por Él: a todas luces ridículo en su confusión, es de esos casos innecesarios en que la víctima podía haber resuelto el caso si Conan fuese capaz de esperar un poco a que se recuperara. La pista es tan enrevesada que no hay manera de creérsela con todo eso del "elf" y los juegos de palabras imposibles.
Caso Ran Chiquita es Ran Adulta: me hace gracia que Aoyama dibuje a Ran y a Shinichi de pequeños cambiando el cuerpo, pero no la cara. Más allá de lo extraño que resulta, el caso está bien ejecutado, con un Shinichi falible que, por una vez, se equivoca en sus deducciones. Esto crea un interesante diálogo entre el pasado y el presente, si bien su colofón es tan solo un mero detalle que no aporta mucho. Con todo, es entretenido y tiene bastante sentido; es el único caso del tomo que aumenta la nota final.
Caso Todos Sabíamos Que Era Veterinario: pues eso, que de base la confusión y las pistas son absurdas porque no cabe duda en la profesión del hombre. Ran parece no pensar demasiado cuando la mayoría de los incidentes en el restaurante indican claramente el problema, pero qué se le va a hacer.

The two "main" mysteries are probably among my favorites in this series. Murder mysteries are good, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it takes a lot more effort to write a mystery that doesn't involve death. :)

It was fun getting a story from Jimmy and Rachel's childhood. But man, Richard and Eva frustrate me so much sometimes! Their stubbornness in this one just made me sad. 3

The Detecive Koshien case, continued from the previous volume, had a wonderful ending. The trick with the window frame was absolutely ingenious. Of course, with Conan and Heiji, it was bound to be found. I did feel that Heiji grossly underestimates Kazuha about her thinking skills.
The second case, Genta's Hitting case, was hilarious - with Ayumi and Mitsuhiko jumping to conclusions at every pause. The ending with the victim buying cake for Genta was really sweet.
The third case - Shinichi's childhood adventure - was a stunner. Not only did we get to see Shinichi and Ran as children, but also other characters like Yusaku and Yukiko Kudo, Eri Kisaki, Mouri and Agasa in theirrelative youth. The twists and turns through this story were thriling, but it was the ending with Kudo and the previous Kaito Kid's (the current Kaito Kid's dad?) silent exchange. The question mark and the reply of an exclamation mark was oh-so-good!
The last case - Eri Kisaki's secret - was short, but it was great. When she still loves Kogoro, and he too loves her back, why did they split and not get back together?
Overall, a beautiful volume.

GOD I MISSED HEIJI
1. The volumes starts with the husband with the broken leg being the actual murderer.
2. So is Hondou the same guy or relates to the new high school student at Rans school??
3. The snow case of the women being drowned in the lake was tbh a neat trick and a sad one.
4. SO HEIJI N KAZUHA ARE BACK BETTER THAN EVER!!
5. The case of the murder in the temple is quite sad since the the mother of the young monk killed herself due to the old monk’s cruel words.. and it’s true sometimes words can kill like knifes.
6. The next case we see Heiji brushing his teeth cuuuuuteeeeeee
7. Having all high school detectives from around Japan to compete was interesting till it became a hoax followed by a murder.
8. The blonde shinchi lookalike who (assuming he was in the case of the golden mansion I need to go back and check) is quite an interesting fellow but I didn’t like him calling Heiji a hot-blooded.
9. Kazuha arriving to rescue Heiji was a canon thing if u ask me.

At this stage I’m mostly reading this to check in on the characters and enjoy some time with them. The mysteries are not that great or tend to revolve around very specific things like tricks with kanji that don’t mean squat to me.
The locked room mystery at the start fizzles out in the end, the junior detective case is pretty meh, and the last two-parter is excruciatingly obvious (shockingly so, by Ayoma’s standards).
However, the flashback mystery with young Jimmy and Rachel (and Doc Agasa looking like freaking Super Mario in the volume’s best visual) is a lot of fun to read, even if it subscribes to the whole ‘everybody has always known everybody’ trope that I don’t particularly love.
Good art, enjoyable characters, not so much with the compelling mysteries, but at 55 volumes what ARE you expecting?

This volume continues where the last left off….with a dead body pressed against the window. The group of detectives are now using their wits to discover exactly who the killer was! The next story involves the Junior Detectives and a seriously injured man found in a parking lot! The mystery of who injured the man is in full swing and the little detectives are doing their best to solve the case. This story is a fun short one that was interesting but also the perfect length. The next story also involves the Junior Detectives (they are getting a lot of page time in this volume) and it concerns Rachel and Jimmy from 10 years ago. I found this story to be a fun flashback adventure!

Mouais... J'ai en fait confondu le détective Koshien avec une autre affaire qui était bien mieux, là c'est limite expéditif. Ensuite pour les deux suivantes, ce ne sont pas des affaires très prenantes si on ne sait pas lire le japonais. En plus, je déteste les affaires avec Shinichi enfant, car il était déjà surdoué dès l'enfance et c'est juste insupportable. Et pour le secret d'Eri Kisaki, c'est une micro affaire, mignonne mais sans plus ! Un tome "filler" à la limite.

Strange volume, with only 1 dead body. The stories are mysteries, but they involved a lot of codes that made more sense in Japanese. The meanings were lost in translation.

As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻

#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!

Der 55. Band von Detektiv Conan schließt nahtlos an Band 54 an und der Fall auf der einsamen Insel wird aufgelöst.
Conan und Heiji bilden dabei wie immer ein Dreamteam und Saguru mischt auch noch mit.
Anschließend geht es mit einem ganz amüsanten Fall mit den Detektive Boys weiter, wo Genta zuerst die Schuld zugeschoben wird. Aber die Kleinen klären das natürlich auf ;)
Das besondere Highlight dieses Bandes ist eine Rückerinnerung an einen Fall mit Ran und Shinichi aus Kindertagen. Dabei sind auch ihre Eltern in jungen Jahren dabei - Eri und Kogoro verheiratet zu sehen ist so süß! Auch der junge Professor ist ein herrlicher Anblick. Ein mysteriöser Mann gibt Shinichi und Ran eine Rätselaufgabe. Das Ende gewährt einen weiteren tollen Einblick in die Vergangenheit und hat noch mit einer oder zwei weiteren Personen des Conan-Universums zu tun. Aber das wird hier nicht verraten.
Den Abschluss bildet eine kurze Geschichte zu Eri und Kogoro und damit endet dann auch Band 55 :)
Insgesamt hat mir der Band gut gefallen. Die Inselgeschichte mit Heiji und Conan war toll, doch am allerbesten war einfach die Story aus den Kindertagen. Großartig und es gibt mal wieder etwas mehr an Informationen! =)

isinya flash back, tentang kaito kid yang ternyata ayahnya sangat kenal dekat dengan yusaku. bahkan kid menyebut dirinya adalah adik dari shinichi.
tapi masih belum tahu juga apa benar si kid itu emang adik kudo. karna hanya diceritakan bahwa yang memberi nama kid adalah yusaku...
harus nunggu jawaban di conan 56...
