UTILITY : Can be used alone or with other companion books in Kaplan's MCAT Review series.
On the copy I have, there's a typo on page 103 ("Carbon cannot have the five bonds, the so the carbonyl group will have to open up." What is "the so"?) and page 267 (the answer to question 14: "[...] The coupling constant is independent of the value of n + 1, and is not changed by calibration with tetramethylsilane, eliminating choice (A) and (B)." It should say (C) instead of (B)).
Anyways, I really like the color theme of this book. It's a good review of organic chemistry in general, and I recommend studying this one before you move on to biochemistry for the MCAT. Otherwise, it's a good undergraduate tool, too.
Although the MCAT Organic Chemistry Review is written for students taking the MCAT, I would highly recommend this for students who are taking organic chemistry or planning to take it as it is incredibly comprehensive. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book because it gave me the background that I needed and highlighted only the most important points learned in an organic chemistry course.
