“So… East Hall,” Ruckus says as I finish packing my stuff. I only moved in with Ruckus and Dolly a few months ago, and here I am, going again. But we all know the new move is a temporary thing. I’ll be back after it’s done… I hope.
“I’ll come home whenever I can,” I say. “I’ll definitely be here for our shows against the Darlin’s—and if I’m not, I’ll call Sandra in, okay?” I’m going to be working under Marigold for a while for my post-graduate training. Skye and the girls had gone on a massive “crime spree” for my graduation gig, and we finally finished just last night. I would be exhausted if I wasn’t so on edge right now.
“Yeah, that’s fine,” she says, drinking her coffee. She’s usually still asleep at this time. That means it’s NOT fine, she’s just not telling me what’s wrong.
“You’re going to miss me, I know,” I say, giving her a sympathetic expression. “I’m just that adorable, of course!”
She chokes on her coffee. “Don’t say that kind of crap when I’m drinking,” she says, laughing. “Seriously. That was just wrong.”
“I’m going to miss you!” Dolly calls from the kitchen. “Now come in here, I made us pancakes for a going away breakfast!”
