I borrowed this from the library online catalog mistaking it for a more academic work than it is. What it is is a pretty comprehensive survey history of “military transport” including curiously enough tanks and other armored and unarmored fighting vehicles, ships, and plans. The text to image ratio is reversed with a sometimes overwhelming array of images. I was disappointed to see some images with the kind of errors suggesting AI at work. I was also puzzled by some of the images selected for this book, particularly the curious omissions of some historical and technological examples that I would think were must haves. For example, with only a single two page spread on gliders, the editors overlook the German combat gliders, the American WACO, the British Horsa, etc., and present us with a single photograph featuring the British Hotspur primarily used in training.
