From sprawling estates to quiet small towns, these cases reveal how murderous intent can hide behind the most ordinary facades—sometimes in places we least expect.
A sampling of the stories
The Butcher of Aberdeen – In a quiet Australian town, a troubled woman with a history of violence transforms from slaughterhouse worker to something far more sinister. When her partner tries to leave, she commits an act so grotesque that even veteran police officers are left traumatized.
The House on Langworthy Road – A desperate teenage girl seeking acceptance finds herself at the mercy of a group of sadistic tormentors. For seven horrifying days, they subject her to unimaginable suffering before their final act of cruelty on a remote hillside.
The REDRUM Murder – When a bizarre homicide rocks a Pennsylvania community, the crime scene reveals a chilling message written in blood—a reference to a famous horror film that transformed a robbery gone wrong into something far more disturbing.
Child of Chaos – England's youngest female double murderer wasn't born evil—she was shaped by a world of squalor and addiction. By fifteen, she had committed crimes so brutal that they shocked a nation and forced a reckoning with how society fails its most vulnerable.
Plus, eight more shocking true crime stories, including a bonus thirteenth chapter at the end.
These cases expose the depths of human depravity—glimpses into the abyss of pure evil. While we may never fully comprehend what drives killers to commit such heinous acts, studying these histories provides valuable insights into the darkest capabilities of the human mind.

"Every story is brilliantly written and addicting. Jason Neal is, without a doubt, my favorite true crime author!"
"Wow, just wow! Each story in this true crime collection is suspenseful and engrossing, leaving me yearning for the next one."
Jason Neal is a Best-Selling American True Crime Author living in Hawaii with his wife, who is also an author writing Women's Fiction as G.T. London. Jason started his writing career in 1989 as a music industry publisher and wrote his first true crime collection in 2019.
As a boy growing up in the 80s just south of Seattle, Jason became fascinated with true crime stories after hearing the news of the Green River Killer so close to his home. Over the coming years, he would read everything he could get his hands on about true crime and serial killers.
As he approached 50, Jason began to assemble stories of the crimes that have fascinated him most throughout his life. He’s especially fascinated by cases solved by sheer luck, amazing police work, and groundbreaking technology like early DNA cases and, more recently, reverse genealogy.
This was a good book if you like true stories about ordinary people and their faults you might as I wouldn't ever do that but we don't know till we walk in other peoples shoes!
All the bizarre, disturbing, and interesting cases I’ve come to expect from a Jason Neal book. I like multiple true crime authors. but Neal is still my favorite.
I knew the story of the vigilante killing in Skidmore, Missouri, but it was good to read it again. It always fascinates me how an entire town can remain silent for so many years. My favorite in tjis volume was the story of the man who escaped prison and lived an upstanding life under an alias for 20 years. It made me question whether true rehabilitation after heinous crimes can be achieved.
Keep the cases coming, Mr. Neal, and I’ll keep reading them.
Love these books and the research that goes into them. Never thought I'd say this, but one of the stories I was happy for the 'murderers' as they got rid of a horrid bully that was happy to terrorise and hurt everyone else in the town for his own pathetic selfish reasons. Some of the other stories were horrendous as to what some people did to others 😪.
