I had great fun reading these stories - varied and unique, and all well-written. Heart-tugging, humorous, sci-fi and contemporary...something for everyone and every mood.
Overall, I enjoyed this bundle, but it was far more sweet than I like my romance. I prefer the hot, sweaty, tell it sex, not the behind closed doors that we got with the majority of the stories. Just my preference.
If you like sweet, you will like this. If you prefer hot and sweaty, this will be something different, just know that going in.
I've read through four of the stories in this book, and have found them all really great. Each one is built with enough detail, back story and love to keep you really pulled in. You find yourself attached to the characters, hoping for the best for them.
I found each story just long enough to really get you involved and invested in the read, but not long enough to make you feel as though you wouldn't have time to finish. It's the perfect little ebook to have by your bedside, on these wintery nights, to read on the few days up to Christmas. Plus, I think most of them are great reads to enjoy throughout winter and anytime of year really. Love stories with a bit of Christmas cheers make you feel great!
I found the level of detail and the pace, in the stories I read, to be excellent. These authors really know what they are doing. With shorter reads, it is always hard to get the right balance, as the pace needs to be fast enough to get all the story in, but we readers still need to be given the time and detail to know the characters and feel as though the story is real. I thought that these stories did that well.
As a collection, they are great! They have been put together with the common themes of love and Christmas, but each once is still unique. They each have very different plots and the characters also have differences, which is great because you aren't left feeling as though you've read the same story ten times over.
What a fun and heartwarming set. You'll love the talking cat in Book #1, magical sunglasses in Book #2, a dashingly handsome doctor with the big heart in Book #3, and a sweet little girl, her single mother, and a homeless vet in Book #10. I'm sure the rest of the set is just as awesome. I'm reading them as fast as I can.
A Father for Christmas by Rachelle Ayala was wonderful. These books can be read any time of year. Pick it up now & enjoy on a cold winters night or in the heat on the beach.
Romancing Christmas is a collection of ten short stories centered around the theme of Christmas.
(1.). BROKEN PROTOCOL by Dale Mayer This is a simple tale about the adventures of Dani and her orange Persian cat, Charmine. Both characters are projected 200 years into the future and in the process, the cat is enabled to speak.
Struggling to adapt to the different world, Dani discovers all holidays and celebrations have been banned. She sets out to recreate Christmas. Her plans upsets security, sets off government alarm bells and causes general confusion, including instigating a kidnapping.
Overall, the story is bland and fails to pull in the reader. The ongoing dialogue by the cat adds the only spark of emotion, chuckles. Not very fleshed out so I can only give three stars. I received a copy of this book for an honest evaluation
(2.) SHADES OF HOLLY by H. D. Thomson Zack finds a glowing pair of sunglasses while jogging on one frosty Colorado morning. He places them over his eyes and immediately is transfixed by visions of his love and potential danger to her life. He must find and protect her!
The Reader is grabbed by the collar on page one and dragged non-stop through mystery, fear and longing to the last page. Loved the continuing tension, the development of the characters and story line.
An old saying boasts "Big things come in small packages." For a short story, this drama has all the trappings of a well written full length novel. I received a copy of this book for an honest evaluation. Definitely deserves five stars!
(3) SEASON FOR LOVE by Chantel Rhondeau This story has been the sweetest, warmest, most romantic book that I have read in a long time. Head nurse Tess and pediatric specialist Dr. Dash embark on a journey of building a relationship. Tess is hesitant but Dash is determined to win her heart.
Relationships are challenging at best and heartbreaking at worst. Many issues are encountered with roller coaster like emotions. There is a scene involving a little girl dying of cancer that put tears into my eyes. The author does an excellent job of painting the turmoil in their hearts I received a copy of this book for an honest evaluation. Definitely earns five stars!
(4). CHRISTMAS HOPE by Leslie Lynch Becca, a pregnant, homeless woman faints and falls onto the snow covered ground. Rushing to the rescue, Sam, a badly scarred vet with PTSD offers aid. So begins a relationship of two people each burdened with their own demons.
The Writer did a wonderful job describing each of the characters tragedies and the changes their friendship initiated. It was realistic and heartwarming to see the healing begin. I received a copy of this book for an honest evaluation. I give this book five stars.
(5) A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE by Sandy Loyd With Christmas approaching, Megan is ending a full year of mourning her reckless and dead husband. Kevin, family friend, harbors a secret that he hopes Megan is ready to hear. He has loved her since before she married his best friend. An ice storm and a runaway dog, provides the opportunity for a true Christmas miracle.
I received a copy of this book for an honest evaluation. Beautiful story, well written and warm. Five stars.
(6). SALTY CARMEL CHRISTMAS by Barbara Lohr This story is as sweet as it's title. Rachel comes home on Christmas break from college. She has missed her hometown and her Mom and brother. Things are not going so well in college. Plus she is disturbed by changes in her Mom and brother. Plus, seeing how the high school geek has turned into a sweet hot stud doesn't hurt either. Rachel begins to rethink the course of life.
Interesting, believable, and entertaining. I received a copy of this book for an honest evaluation. Five stars.
(7) HEATING UP THE HOLIDAYS by Marcia James This is the most adorable, most loving Christmas story!! Two high school sweethearts part ways at graduation. Chris moves to California to attend law school and Nicky stays in Virginia to earn her Business degrees in order to run her family's chain of department stores. Thirteen years pass without contact between the two.
Then suddenly one day, Chris returns hoping to rekindle the flames of his first love. Such a pleasure to read and feel the emotions of a second chance. I am going to search for more stories by Marcia James. I received a copy of this book for an honest evaluation. Definitely worthy of five stars!
(8) INSANITY CLAUS by Carolyn Hughey Mallory is a widow with two young daughters. The unhappiness, infidelity and abuse in her marriage coupled with the traumatic death of their father has created an angry, dysfunctional family dynamic. Mallory has locked the door to her heart to protect both herself and her daughters.
In walks a tall, dark stranger that insists it is love at first sight when he meets her. It was fascinating watching him patiently work at knocking down her barriers while she is determined to keep the walls in place.
The story flowed with realism and love. I couldn't put it down. The ending was a beautiful and unique surprise! I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Five stars.
(9) A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS by Tallulah Grace Sweetest story of family and love ever. Erin never knew her mother and her father was a cold strict military man with no idea how to nurture a child. Luke, at age ten was homeless and alone. A classmate brought him home like a stray dog and gave him the home and family he never had.
Two people with different backgrounds but had the same emptiness and loneliness. Fate brings them together to build a life filled with home, family and love. All the things for which they were longing. lThe author skillfully paints the characters in realistic colors and develops the plot and situations in ways similar to watching a movie. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Five stars.
(10) A FATHER FOR CHRISTMAS by Rachelle Ayala If you like stories about second chances and finding love in a hopeless, forbidding world, then this is a must read.
Kelly is suspicious and protective of her four year old daughter when little Bree latches onto to the legs of a scruffy, homeless man calling him " Papa!" Tyler, the homeless vet, is shocked and fearful authorities may think he is trying to snatch the girl. An Afghan Vet, Tyler has PTSD with severe flashbacks, trying to find his way back to normal.
This story reveals the intense horrors of our returning vets and the struggles Kelly faces about stereo types and assumptions of homelessness. Well written, deeply emotional and absolutely worth five stars.
The thing about a collection with this many different authors is that it's going to be a mixed bag. I'll make notes as I go through it.
Broken Promises: I gave up half-way through this one because I was so bored.
Shades of Holly: Skipped it because the summary didn't interest me at all.
Season of Love: I enjoyed this story set in a hospital with a doctor whose wrestling with coming from a society family with values so against his own heart and head nurse who craves intimacy but looks for every reason to push it away. The third act conflict felt a little contrived but the H/h were so engaging I could overlook it.
I just finished Broken Protocols 3.5 by Dale Mayer. I haven't read the other books in this series yet, but enough backstory was given to make this tale smooth. Its a story of the love of a rather odd little family that includes 2 brothers. One is a genius, the other is married to a woman snatched from her own time to 200 yrs in the future. And did I mention the talking cat? Cute story. Id like to read the rest of the series.
Shades of Holly by HD Thomson: reunion love story and a pair of psychic sunglasses? Sounds trite, right? Wrong! This story was heart poundingly suspenseful and a little steamy too. I have to admit I was concerned about the "shades" as a plot device, but it wasn't overused and it helped to speed up the storyline, which was necessary in boxed set like this. The author definitely knows what she is doing and I'd be interested in other books. Still five stars!
A Season For Love by Chantel Rhondeau: This is a wonderful story about a hot doctor ( of course) and the head nurse. Medical drama abounds in the pediatric ward. This story twanged my heart strings more than once, as I was a bone marrow donor to my little sister who had leukemia. The author obviously understands the ins and outs of long term hospital care, and has a strong grasp of romance as well. She spins a heck of a good yarn.
Christmas Hope by Leslie Lynch: This one had me in tears more than a few times. I could completely feel for Becca being the black sheep myself. We could all stand to learn a lesson about beauty being more than skin deep. A very moving story.
A Christmas Miracle by Sandy Loyd: Such a tale of love lost! A tearjerker for sure. One year a widow, Megan Jenkins is missing her husband as the holidays approach, or is she? Her husbands best friend, Kevin, honorary uncle to her son, has made his claim clear.... He wants Megan....he has since he first met her, years ago, and NOT in the platonic way she thinks.... This is a story about subjugation then empowerment, a feel-good Christmas miracle tale.
A Salty Caramel Christmas by Sandy Loyd: This is a sweet (pun intended) story about a girl home from college who faces some family drama and personal introspection. The nerdy boy she grew up with is now really hot; her mom is acting strangely and secretive; and her brother is going off the rails. It's a lovely tale of personal growth, family dynamics, and of course Christmas romance.
Heating up the Holidays by Marcia James: A lovely story of love lost and regained. The CEO of her family's department store, Nicky is busy, busy, busy. Too busy to take the time to find love. Chris, her high school sweetheart is back in town after 13 years with his sweet little girl, Holly. I laughed at the "fairy pony puppy" , got misty several times, and nearly blundered at the end. A heartwarming story of Christmas dreams.
Insanity Claus by Carolyn Hughey: This was a feel-good story about a dysfunctional family trying to cope with the loss of it's patriarch and the guilt they feel about it. It's also a love at first sight romance and the healing it helps create. The ending had me crying happy tears. There were a few typos that interrupted the flow of the story, but all in all, it was good.
A Family For Christmas by Tallulah Grace: this story will have you weeping or at least misty through most of it. Some will be happy tears, and some will be sad. This book is alternately heart-wrenching and heart-warming and I loved it!
A Father for Christmas by Rachelle Ayala: a homeless vet and a felon convicted of insider trading.... Wasn't sure this combo was going to work, but this author did an amazing job! First of all, said homeless guy was homeless by CHOICE, as he decided to give his entire retirement check to a charity for afghani orphans, out of self-induced guilt. And the girl? She took a bad stock tip to help pay for her moms cancer treatment.... There's a sweet little girl, some PTSD induced hallucinations, violence , and heartbreak. This was a really really good book!
Overall: there are some real societal issues addressed here. Homeless vets, animal shelters, cancer victims and survivors, failed college students, PTSD, dysfunctional families, widowed mothers, cheating spouses, etc.... All of these issues are included in an inspirational boxed set that really cares, and tries to portray the world in a more hopeful light. A wonderful feel-good set that really makes you feel the spirit of Christmas!
A wonderful collection of 10 short romantic stories for the holidays. Each story fills you with holiday love and cheer. There is something for everyone in this collection.

Salty Carmel Christmas Rachel returns home from college for Christmas break, things aren't going well at college nor at home. But when she runs into the high school nerd and sees that he has turned into a hot sexy man. Just maybe things won't be so bad after all.
Heating Up The Holidays Nicky has been running the family department store and when her old high school love and his daughter return to town the sparks are still flying. But is he here to stay this time or just visiting for the holidays.
Insanity Claus Mallory was trying to deal with running Every Day is Christmas and raising two daughters who wanted to kill each other. No time for a man, until AJ walks into her store and life and won't give up until he has Mallory.
A Family For Christmas Erin returns to her fathers house after his death to get things in order and put the place up for sale. Never knowing her mother and having a strict unfeeling father Erin doesn't plan on staying long, until she meets Luke and the family next door.

Sometimes getting what you want for Christmas takes work, honesty and opening your heart to love.
A boxed set of 10 heartwarming romances during Christmas time. This boxed set includes Christmas romances from the future all the way to friends into lovers stories.
-Broken Protocols 3.5 by Dale Mayer -Shades Series: Shades of Holly by H.D. Thomson -A Season For Love by Chantel Rondeau -Christmas Hope by Leslie Lynch -A Christmas Miracle by Sandy Loyd -Salty Carmel Christmas by Barbara Lohr -Heating Up The Holidays by Marcia James -Insanity Claus by Carolyn Hughey -A Family For Christmas by Tallulah Grace -A Father For Christmas by Rachelle Ayala
I actually give this boxed set a 3.5 stars because there are some stories that I fell for and then there were a few I couldn't wrap my head around. For the most part I enjoyed this boxed set even cried reading a few. There was laughter, tears, aww, and heart-warming fuzzy feelings for all 10 stories. I think my overall favorite story had to be Shades of Holly or A Season For Love...it was a tie. Shades of Holly is a paranormal story about long lost love and second chances. Zach is a recovering alcoholic who lost Holly because of his drinking. One day on his daily run, he found a pair of sunglasses. When he put them on he sees things...things that are violent and happening to his long lost love Holly. Zach needs to save her, but are the visions from the sunglasses real. Shades of Holly has murder, mystery, and a second chance at love. It's well written and gives you enough of the back story to understand what is going on between Zach and Holly. A Season For Love is about overcoming fears, granting wishes, and falling in love. Dr. Dash Brisson has had a thing for the lovely nurse, Tess Riggs since he started working at the hospital. Although Dash is handsome Tess doesn't like how he treats his patients. Dash doesn't understand why Tess ignores him so at a hospital fundraiser he buys a date with her to figure it out and move their relationship to where he wants it going. Misunderstandings, a failure to communicate all equal doomed from the start. I loved reading how Tess and Dash overcame their differences and yes! yes I did cry reading this one! There are many more stories in this boxed set to enjoy!

Merry Christmas and so much more!!!! When I started to read this box set, I was so excited!!! I LOVE Christmas and 10 stories that involve or revolve around it? WOO HOO! Now it is not my style to critique every story or give spoilers. What I will do is say that I LOVED EVERY SINGLE STORY and I also cried at EVERY SINGLE STORY!!! I am a closet romantic and I get so involved in my books, that they become way more than just characters in a book, so when they cry, I cry, when they are upset or worried, so am I, so when they FINALLY get their HEA, ya, I cry then too! The stories in this set were all sweet (some in their own way) loving Happily Ever Afters!!! While I was, not upset really, more surprised with the subjects that took place in a couple of the stories and that the characters had to go through SO MUCH to get to their own HEA, they were all based on finding love, happiness & peace all while feeling the MAGIC of Christmas! What more could you ask for? I so love reading books that are full of love, but reading 10 loving romantic Christmas stories is just the thing to get you into the Christmas frame of mind! There are stories of first love, second chances, rekindling of flames that never really went out, starting of new traditions but nothing is better than getting together with your loved ones and to celebrate the spirit, magic and of course, the ROMANCE of Christmas! After reading this set, you will be longing for Christmas too! They truly got me excited for Christmas and have me looking forward to our own family Christmas traditions. Because in the end, isn’t that what it is all about??? So if you need to kick start your own Christmas excitement and spirit, want some great holiday stories and love to read uplifting romantic stories, then this is the anthology for you! Now I just need to find my own Vampire Mate wrapped up under my tree on Christmas morning and then I too will have my HEA! LOL Hmmm, maybe some guys need to read these stories, too, right ladies? Happy Holidays to all!!!!
Sleigh bells are jingling, Christmas Carols are playing and romance is in the air! Come along on a winter wonderland adventure. An adventure filled with some of the hottest spicy love stories to help heat up your holidays. So snuggle down with a warm fire, a hot drink and one of the ten novellas offered by these outstanding authors. Will you choose naughty or nice for your holiday read? Watch out, you may run into a talking cat, a hot doctor or even a Christmas Miracle!
A Christmas Miracle by Sandy Loyd
All things are possible if you only believe that it can happen! Megan Jenkins has forgotten the true meaning of the season. When she was left to raise her son alone, her outlook on the holidays changed. The death of her husband two days after Christmas was devastating for Megan. It is hard to get into the spirit of the holidays when it reminds her of her husband’s death. Kevin Murdock was a family friend and was an adopted part of their family. He was her husband Adam’s best friend. His support and strength since Adams death was a source of comfort to Megan and her son Ryan. The anniversary of Adam’s death is just around the corner. Will Megan find peace? Maybe there is a Christmas Miracle just for her and she can learn to live again. Is there a way for her to once again see the true meaning of Christmas? Will her friend Kevin help to find it?
Would I recommend this collection: Yes! This is a scorching hot collection of romantic novellas for your holiday enjoyment.
These books have ten different authors with ten drastically different writing styles, but I enjoyed learning their differences throughout this collection (not a continuing storyline!) Sorry about the brief notes. I was writing from my kindle and wanted to move on to the next book. Also, I won this.
#1 Broken Protocols by Dale Mayer- odd futuristic story. * #2 Shades of Holly by HD Thomson-editing issues like for instead of of. F word. Tense, and hardly a Christmas story. * #3 Season for Love by Chantel Rhondeau-sweet. Face to black bedroom scenes, but still steamy. Nice message too about the pull between a doctor, nurse, and a sick child patient. ***** #4 Christmas Hope by Leslie Lynch-A scarred man (in more ways than one) helps a pregnant lady become confident. Clean story. **** #5 Christmas Miracle by Sandy Loyd-At the year anniversary of Megan's husband's death she has to go visit her in-laws with her son and her late husband's best friend. Very clean!**** #6 Salty Caramel Christmas by Barbara Lohr-more drinking than I'd prefer. Some of that was interesting because they got so mad as a younger brother who was drinking and driving and then they still were... I wouldn't go out of my way to read this. ** #7 Heating up the Holidays by Marcia James- really steamy and too descriptive for my tastes, but a cute story underneath. * #8 Insanity Claus by Carolyn Hughey- I was disappointed when they hopped right to bed, but the story was nice and bedroom had fade to black details. ** #9 A Family for Christmas by Tallulah Grace- super sweet and a perfect mix of sentimental and romantic without going too fast. Lovely book. I'd read more from this author. ***** #10 A Father for Christmas by Rachelle Ayala- sweet, surprising, smart and wonderful. *****
Romancing Christmas is a box set of 10 novellas by some of the best-selling romance authors on the market. They include:

Normally I don't have a favorite in box sets but this time, I do. My favorite one is A Season For Love by Chantel Rondeau. I swooned over Dash from the first meeting. What a man! Chantel wove a heart-warming love story while secretly building enormous stakes. I cried with Tess and my heart broke for her and Dash. I didn't want it to end and want more from this author!
There is something for everyone in this box set and as a result, I have found new authors to fangirl! Go get this box set today!!! You won't be sorry!

This is an excellent collection that made me swoon, cry, want to hold my honey tight, and reconnect with loved ones!
Each author has written a seasonal story to get you in the mood for the holidays. The variety gives each type of romance lover something to love about this set, as we all have different tastes.
The gifts inside are as lovely as the wrapping. I definitely recommend!
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
All of the stories in the Romancing Christmas are well written, the characters are fully developed. This box set is sweet to sizzling hot with undertones of real life drama. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this box set and would recommend to friends and family.
Romancing Christmas is a perfect balance of being in the middle of Santa's naughty or nice list!! Why can't we have a little of both right!!
18+ Up--Because of adult situation and sexual content..
Zach and Holly have been separated for a couple years due to past mistakes, their relationship left in chaos and sadness. Their future turns out to be much happier thanks to some unique sunglasses and one mothers determination to keep her only child safe. This story was bittersweet, thrilling and just goes to show in life the unknown can be scary but also worth the fear.. Great story five stars!!
Ten fabulous novellas to get you in the mood for Christmas. I usually don't read christmas reads until nearer Christmas but as soon as I started I kept reading. I've not read any of these authors books so this set gives me a great insight to how they write and if I'll like... Of course I did so now I got some great authors to follow:)
Highly recommend this box set. There is something in it for everyone.
There are ten romantic short stories but really well written. Some are funny, some moving, but all have a lot of positivity. It 's a collection of different kinds, different ways of feeling and living the Christmas spirit: friendship, time travel, bereavement, alcoholism, betrayal, revival. Some of the characters are really amazing, like the generous Mrs. O and her son Tyler in A Family Christmas and all the children in the various stories. Really recommended to read at Christmas time.
One of the top all round holiday anthologies I have ever read. 10 Winners including several authors that I knew I was going to enjoy but there were also quite a few who are new to me but who will be part of my reading future! Of course, I adore Dale Mayer's Protocol series and the warm delight of this one was a prime example of why she is one of my favorite authors, but I was so please to find the quality of the bundle to be top notch all the way through!
The Romancing Christmas box set is a fun, unique collection of Christmas stories that veer from the boring regular Christmas stories. You have talking cat in Broken Protocols 3.5 by Dale Mayer, time traveling sunglasses in Shades Series: Shades of Holly by H.D. Thomson just for a taste. These stories help you experience a different side of Christmas in a great read that is perfect for the holiday season!!
This was a very good read. I loved all these stories.
I have read other books by some of these authors and really enjoyed them. This collection of stories were awesome. I am not one big on Christmas because really I have never had a special one but these stories brought tears to my eyes with all the wonders of Christmas and spending time with the one that you love.
This was such a great way to start out the holiday season. They were absolutely wonderful. They really had me in the Christmas mode even though it is just starting November. I normally do not read Christmas books, but I loved this. I would certainly recommend this to people who love Christmas books, or who want to try something new.
This is a great collection of stories from an amazing group of authors. I read A Father for Christmas by Rachelle Ayala, it was just the right amount of steamy and sweet all wrapped up into a nice package. I can't wait to get to the rest of the books in this series!
This would be a perfect gift for any romance reader. I got to read 10 love stories from great authors. Some I knew and this set gave me a chance to discover some new authors. A great way to spend the hoidays!
