What a Barking Dog Taught Me About Loyalty, Presence, and Leadership

What if the secret to powerful leadership wasn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—but about listening, observing, and leading from within?

In Lead Like Charlie, Nitin Narula shares the heartfelt, humorous, and deeply practical lessons learned from an unlikely his corgi, Charlie. When Nitin adopted Charlie, he thought he was gaining a loyal companion. Instead, he found himself under the watchful eye of a four-legged “boss”, one with boundless energy, sharp instincts, and an uncanny sense of presence.

Through vivid stories and honest reflections, this book explores how Charlie’s everyday behaviors, from silent stares and early-morning wake-up calls to fierce loyalty and unwavering calm, offer a blueprint for leading, living, and connecting more deeply. Whether you’re an introvert seeking your voice, a manager looking for a new leadership approach, or simply a dog lover craving a good story, you’ll find wisdom, inspiration, and practical tools

What an insightful book. It's also a touching tribute to Charlie, his dog. Who thought 'man's best friend' could make such an impact on life? Charlie has been a motivator, best friend, and household manager. Also much appreciated are the reflections on quiet leadership. Too often, introverts are misunderstood and criticized. This is a book I will refer back to and mention to others.
