I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book. When we left Logan and Maxx in book 2 they were not really talking things through. Both of them were acting scared and there was a great deal of... hmm... bitchassness going on. This book picked up where that one left off but thank the Lord for Luke and dare I even say Tony! I really loved how Ms. Neal weaved these two voices of reason into the story and pointed out to Logan and Maxx what they were and were not doing and what they needed to do in order to give the relationship a try if that was what they were wanting.

I was very happy that the lack of communication did not go on for an extended amount of time. Some of the areas that they "fought" about or got jealous about were a bit "eh" but overall it made sense, it was a hot read, and I am definitely invested in these characters and want to see how and if they get their HEA. I also hope that we get more sexy time in the next books because when these two do get together it is fireworks and panty melting hot. Overall, a 4.5 bean read for me.

Logan Kellar, how I love you so!

Now if you've read the other books in the series, you know how hot and irresistible Logan Kellar is, but in this book he becomes even more so. Though he does have his moments where you just want to nut punch him. He makes up for it doing some pretty amazing things (you'll have to read the the book to find out ;) )

Then there is Maxx. Maxx, I really wanted to slap the shit out of you a few times. Would you let the poor man talk to you before you blow a lid? Sweet baby jesus, I love you Maxx, but you are making Logan's life a lot harder. Now I know Logan isn't completely innocent in this (yes he can been an ass) but you know how he is. Give him a minute.

Maxx and Logan need to have a sit down and have a little chat on what's going on between the two of them. When they are together, the pages catch on fire, but when they are apart, you just want to cry. These two are meant for each other! The only question is, will they be able to work though the things that were said and done?

Xavier Neal, you are a goddess of the written word. Every time I read something by you, I'm totally captivated and begging for more when I finish. I'm in awe of how well you are able to write your stories in a style that is different from the norm, yet make it entertaining as well. I'm going to be anxiously waiting to see what you have in store next for Logan and Maxx.

Phew! This book was a much bigger doozie than I'd anticipated! For all you readers out there who love your angst, this book is definitely for you! I was dying, DYING I tell you! Wincing and hissing and cursing and groaning. But after all was said and done I looked back in retrospect and acknowledged two things: One: Xavier is very skilled in the way of getting her readers all wound up! My heart strings were literally pulled so taught I thought they were going to snap. Which can't be easy an easy feat to pull off. So Kudos, woman, for that. But also, I realized that, considering Logan and Maxx's history and their present situation, these things that made me so miserable were a necessary evil of sorts, that needed to be played out so they could ultimately be WORKED out. Otherwise their relationship's foundation could never be as solid and rock steady as it finally ended up. So the whole adage "gotta go through hell to get to heaven" definitely seemed apropos in this scenario. Will it make me want to read more angsty books? Hell no! I've reached my quote for this year and next! But does it make me appreciate and value how Logan and Maxx came out on top? Absolutely. They were BOTH warriors with hearts of steel who absolutely deserved the happy place they ultimately found. Man, I hope book four is a bit smoother sailing! Great job, Xavier Neal. That was one hell of a bumpy-awesome ride! Woot!

Let's just say from the last book Logan has a lot of making up to do and the boy just has no romance in him at all sex, yeah loads of that, dominant power yeah sure, but romance no he doesn't know how to romance a woman. Maxx I was on her side the whole time, I mean there were a couple scenes she needed her butt kicked but she eventually saw the error of her ways. She's a woman who knows what she wants and knows how to go after it, "my lips lean right next to his ear to whisper, "the only thing I want from you right now....is to remind my body why it belongs to you." On a growl Logan pushes back and plants his lips on top of mine." Sometimes these two are so passionate they get caught with their hands in the cookie jar, or in this case with Logan's pants down, "we need to talk," she finishes with a smile. "I know." The sound of the front door opening causes my to slip my d*** back into my shorts and shuffle over just a couple inches to hide the mess I made while Maxx washes her hands." I think Logan has grown with his time apart from Maxx, "I just need a couple minutes to say something, and then I will throw you down on my bed and eff you like you've never been effed before." That quote alone ladies shows the boy's growth normally it would be eff first talk later or never. I'm really excited to see what the book brings to Maxx and Logan's relationship. Personally I'm hoping for a pregnancy scare or Maxx to just become pregnant.

I was beyond nervous to read this book where Deaf left off but I knew that Xavier wouldn't disappoint us. I'm so entwined with this series from one book to the next. The story has me so consumed. Xavier's writing style draws you into the book and makes you feel like your part of it. Maxx and Logan have each had their own set of heartaches and let downs but together they find their own sense of peace. Their relationship has been quite the journey and I can not wait to see where it takes. I can only hope that they continue to work towards where their heart leads them and together they will have their HEA they deserve. I'm so hooked on this story and all of the characters. Every book just keeps getting better and better! I can not wait for Hush! Bring on Book 4!

♡I received this book in exchange for an honest review♡

This your warning: I couldn't care less about sounding professional. I finished reading Numb ten minutes ago and I am still flying high. These books are being released a month apart and even that length of time in between is agonizing. I think I'll write my own novel, "The Wait", a horror story.

Let us pick up where we left off from Deaf, second installment in the Senses series. Always the one to over-analyze, the predicament Maxx faces in the beginning was anticipated. My curiosity as to how she would handle the situation was beyond satiated.  I was rolling with the intensity of the emotions. The situation may have been unpleasant, but the dialogue was extraordinarily, entertaining.  Every...single. .line..in this book is ENTERTAINING!

Speaking retrospectively on Xavier's prose/dialogue, I've not only adjusted quickly, but crave it.

I assumed Numb would be just as phenomenal as the first books in the Senses series. I am blown away that Xavier Neal found it possible to write something even better!

Logan's attempts at changing are mind-boggling! He does nothing half-way! He goes above and beyond his own security barrier to protect not only Maxx, but someone in dire need. I'm awe-stricken, love - stricken, and now determined to get these paperbacks on my bookshelf! You can't put a price on a series like this.

I'm rendered a helpless Logan/Maxx addict. Until the next release, I will be reading Blind, Deaf, and Numb relentlessly to stay sane.

So much miscommunication between Max and Logan was just sad. Not that it couldn't have been avoided if they'd stop sweeping it under the rug for a later date. Anywho it was a great book

Finally!!! Xavier Neal is wonderful. I love this series but Numb was my favorite so far. Maxx and Logan put me through the ringer with the ups and downs and miscommunications and just plain stupidity. But it was worth it. I know there are more books in this series and Maxx and Logan's story is not over but for now I am content. Well I would like to know more about CJ but for the most part I am happy.

Xavier Neal is a writer ON FIRE!!!! OMG, Numb took my breath away…not just the hot, fiery sex scenes but the deep emotions that are involved in this book. I am not writing a lengthy synopsis because I don’t want even a hint of a spoiler. You have to read this book is all I can say. The only thing I will say is it picks up right where Deaf left off! My advice: just buckle up for one heck of a ride!

The characters again are very well-developed and fleshed out to perfection. I got to see the deep layers that Logan and Maxx are so good at hiding even though I am one of their most trusted friends and confidantes. I felt like getting to know them on a deeper level just brought us closer and allowed me to see why they behave in the way that they do. Again, lots of fighting and lots of moments I still want to beat the hell out of them! But, when the two are in the same room together, their chemistry still threatens to burn anyone that’s standing near them. I don’t know any other couple who can have any hotter make up sex! A small little gem hidden in the book is C.J. It’s very small, but you can’t help but pick up on it. Readers see a bit of his past, and it made me wonder, “HMMM….what is C.J.’s past?” Can’t wait to hear more about him. Another person who I think will greatly influence the future of Logan and Maxx is introduced in greater detail. It’s a person who I believe will help in Logan’s transformation. Maxx’s past has reared its head in Numb as well that brings out a side to her I haven’t seen, and I like it. She’s quite the feisty little thing, and I hope I get to see more of this side of her!

Some series lose their steam when more books are added to it but not the Senses Series. These books just continue to get better. They have been a journey from a sexy romance to a much deeper, emotional love story between two individuals who aren’t perfect and have a lot of baggage, but together they are perfection. Waiting anxiously and impatiently for more Logan and Maxx!!! Xavier Neal, you are freaking amazing!!!!

Okay I am Numb after reading this book. Xavier Neal amps up the angst this time around and I'm so scared to read the next one. Our poor couple is still stuck on this emotional roller coaster.

Numb starts off right where Deaf left us, this review may spoil books one and two, so catch up already. Maxx and Logan are separated by yet another misunderstanding. If there is one thing this couple can't do, it's talk to each other. Sure they've been "together" for years, but are crap at actually knowing what the other one is thinking or feeling. On the heels of her mess with Logan, Maxx gets some more bad news to pile on. Her past has come back to haunt her and is bringing more baggage than Maxx can handle at the moment.

So the love birds are working things out in their own immature, special way. She's using Tony, he's using Liz, the whole scene is annoying. You just want to smack their heads together and tell them to GROW UP. Maxx and Logan are lucky as hell to have Erin and Dean on their side. The brother and sister are the perfect balance of comedy and sensibility they need.

The book is fantastic and sexy as expected with Logan Kellar in the lead. He surprised me yet again with how kind and generous he really is. Cocky on the outside with a heart of gold. Xavier Neal has a special way with words and these were my two favorite lines this time around:

Fu@k, first the dream now the goddamn pancakes. I have completely turned into a walking, steaming pile of pussy.

I drag myself out of my room and head straight for the kitchen table where I flop down once more across from Hit Me Baby One More Time all aged out.

I laughed out loud at the Hit Me Baby line. I just love that she has her characters argue and try to convince you to be on their side while reading. Brilliant! Great book, great series, can't wait to see what happens next.

Well Book 3 in the Senses Series, Numb, starts right off where Book 2, Deaf, left us. Before starting to read this book, I was ready to take Maxx and Logan’s heads and smash them together in hopes to knock some sense into them. Maybe just smack them both on the hands with a ruler and lock them in a room together until they talk and get their $hit straight!! But at this point, I am addicted to these two and must continue on with their journey (don’t judge me…if you’ve met Logan, you know how demanding he can be!!).

This book deals with some hard core emotions. Not that the other two didn’t, but this one delves deeper than the first two. I loved it. We know the “miscommunication” that happened with Maxx and Logan. It leaves Maxx questioning everything when it comes to Logan. Mix in a blast from her past and Maxx is ready to boil over!

Logan is fighting hard to keep his life together. He started on the path to be the person that Maxx was worthy of. When the poop hits the fans, will he revert to old ways? You’ll have to read to find out what is up next for these two.

Numb is a game changer for me. I’m seeing characters in new light. For instance, Tony….I am so excited now about this man! I need more of him. The Tony from the first two books and the Tony we meet in Numb…totally different! Logan makes a speech….I think my ovaries exploded a few times over! Still in love with Erin and Luke! I also see a new side of Maxx from learning more about her past. All in all…GREAT BOOK! However, I need more ASAP! I love the inner dialogue with Logan and Maxx. It’s hilarious. The book is well written and kept me eager to keep swiping pages! The characters…LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!! Go 1-click today!

After a colossal misunderstanding and some serious lack of communication, Logan and Maxx are once again ranting to the readers while trudging though the muck that is their misery. I have to say, the best line that made me laugh -out loud & uncontrollably - was "I don't know what demons are eating you up inside, but I can tell by the way your Botox induced face is trying to wrinkle, they are something nasty." Wow, that was fantastic snark, loved it! The side stories of C.J. and Erin as well as further developments with Dean continue in the background as Logan and Maxx still struggle to find their way through their trials and mishaps. Logan is more likable this time. While the plot flowed smoothly and was great, and some of the conflicts found resolve, there are still gaping holes left unconcluded... Once again, it's to be continued in HUSH, coming out in December.

Oh Logan Keller, he makes you want to love him & punch him at the same time. Numb was every bit as awesome as the first two. Logan and Maxx know how to draw you into there life. And make you feel every emotion with them. With a huge misunderstanding between them, Logan & Maxx cant seem to stop running into more problems. They need to stop and tallk. But are to afraid of what will be said or happen. In numb, you get to see more into Maxx's past. And the struggles she had to deal with. You also see a different side of Logan. While he's still his cocky self, you also see a softer side of him. With wanting to help dean, the kid who reminds him of himself not to long ago. You see how faithful he has been to Maxx. Logan could have gone back to his "Unbreakable" Slutty self. He was presented with alot of opportunities. But he choose to try and get his girl back. Numb also gave you alot of laughs. Between Logan, Maxx, Erin, & Luke, you'll be cracking up. You get a glimpse of the sexy banter between CJ & Erin. And a little snippet of CJ that will make you want to get ahold of his story. Sexiness drips from this series. And in each book the dirty talk & sexy banter make you swoon. Xavier does a kick ass job as always. And i cant wait to devour the rest of this series!

Logan and Maxx! Hello, and thank you for finally getting to that place you need to be at! It makes my heart so happy!

This part of the series is filled with a little more drama and heartbreak than it's counterparts "Blind" and "Deaf." In this book we meet Dean. Dean pulls at Logan's heart strings just a little (I mean A LOT.), and I can't wait to see how he works into the next segment. We're seeing a whole other side to Logan. A side that makes my insides all gooey and we see Maxx's weaker moments. We learn more of their history, and we can see why they have such great chemistry and the dynamics in their family unit that keep them going, and keep them together.

Once again, that inner monologue, and the dialogue with the audience captivates me. It speaks to me. I don't have enough praise for it.

Seriously- I do not want to wait until December for "Hush." But I will, since I have to. ;)

This not a S/A. You must read Blind and Deaf first as Numb picks up where Deaf finished.

Just when we thought Logan and Maxx were getting their HEA, oh no, that little thing called communcation gets in the way. The lack of their communication makes me want to jump into the pages and knock their heads together beacuse it's clear to everyone other than themselves how they feel about each other.

Numb is yet again a heartwarming fast paced read that is more than enjoyable. Great chaacters all round and great story. Fab series so far and I can't wait for the next book to see what's in store for Logan and Maxx.

Very good series so far!

I'm really liking this series, Maxx and Logan are the cutest and are made for each other! I love Dean and how Logan is helping him and being a father figure. It's so cute and hilarious that he is like Logan's mini me lol. The only thing that bugged me was the fact that there was so much miscommunication and wrong assumptions! I hate when that happens but thankfully things were cleared up and Luke and Erin being the awesome roommates that they are force them to talk, and Tony who I have mixed feelings about got some points in this book since he helps Logan and Maxx work things out. I'm excited for the next one!

5 Undefeated STARS!

Numb started right where Deaf left of.
I have mixed emotions reading this book. When i thought I can no longer love Logan more, this book made me fall in love with him harder.
I am not a fan of Maxx here because of. some issues I wouldn't tell because I don't want to spoil the book for you.
There are revelations about CJ too and well, I think I love him too!
The book (as usual) ends in a cliffy! Xavier Neal clearly wears the crown of being "Queen of Cliffy" proudly *winks*.
I can't wait to read the next book and get to know Logan, Luke and CJ more!

This entire series so far is 5 Star!!
What do you cross two people who don't talk about their feelings?  UTTER CHAOS!  That's why Logan and Maxx are having such a hard time finding their forever happiness.
A series of misinterpreted events lands the two apart for way too much time.  I Love how the author has the characters talk to the reader keeping them part of the story.

A GREAT BOOK, and even BETTER series!!  Can't wait for the next 2 installments of the Senses Series.

Once again Xavier brings you a story of passion and heartache. In this installment you will see the battle of wills with Maxx and Logan. For some reason they love to hate each other. One thing I love about these books are that X brings the characters to life, and they make you feel apart of the story. Ladies, I hope that you get caught up in this story as much as I have!! Have fun reading!!!!
