Laura Mills isn’t asking for much. Laura Mills wants only three things: keep her little brother Lucas out of trouble, finish her part-time degree in criminal justice, and do her best to not feel flustered every time she catches the sight of William Shriner riding out of the Knights Disciples MC club house.
William Shriner doesn’t forget a thing. Laura is an old friend of the club who’s helped change the outlook the rest of the community had about the Disciples. Will—as the club’s sergeant-at-arms—is more than thankful for all that Laura does. The club still owes her a favor, and Will’s determined to see the debt paid.
A tiny spark comes alive in the endless sea of darkness When Lucas gets into hot water with an out of town gang, Laura turns to the Disciples for help. But what she doesn’t expect is William Shriner taking a personal interest in the case, staying up with her late at night, and comforting her as her little brother flirts dangerously close to the fire.
There was nothing MC about this.. A thirty something nympho paying her teenage brothers debt with her vagina.. that's all I got out of it.. Annnnd acting like a 15 year old!
All it was was sex sex and more sex the girls brother was in trouble and instead of helping him or anything like that she's keeps going back to a guy and having sex with them there is sex on almost every single page there is no she shows no emotion towards her brother all it is is about the guy if that was ever my brother I would be yelling at him and trying to better him not worry about a guy and fucking him. This is an awful book and I don't recommend for anyone
DNF.. I kept reading till I was 45% , it just wasn't getting any better. What can I say, bits abruptly end making you re read because you think you've missed a section out, in 3 chapters ( or it seems like it ) a kid goes from good kid to shit kid with no real reason behind it. Parts of what seems like a key part just stop with no explanation and is taken over with something else.
I seem to be having a bad run at the moment. This is another book that promised so much but failed to deliver. This is certainly not a MC book by any stretch of the imagination. You didn't get any insight in to a MC that you would expect. The h had far to many TSTL moments to be forgiven and I really didn't like her much. Three times you got to the end of a chapter to find that the next chapter was 2 or 3 months later and the h and H had split up with absolutely no warning. Then we come to the grammar - some paragraphs read like they had been translated from a foreign language and made very little sense. There were numerous times where letters had been missed off the end of words and in some cases there were completely wrong words - for example 'tights' instead of 'thighs'. Normally grammar issues don't bother me but there were far too many to excuse. Finally I enjoy a good sex scene with the best of them but there were far too many and they were pretty much mechanical with very little emotion.
This is a book that needed an editor in the worst way. There are so many sentences that sound ridiculous and that totally disregard all the rules of grammar. For example, here are a few direct quotes from this book. 'The moment their powerful attraction was instigated, nothing matter.', '"Now!" he bellowed. He looked like a fiend and she did what he was told.' 'There was no doubt; he was watching her as she had been her.' What the hell? This made for difficult reading, because the entire book was filled with such writing. And don't even get me started on the whining brat who's our heroine. I absolutely hated her. I Could never believe that Will would continuously put up with her bullshit. The plot was also convoluted and unbelievable. I will give this writer one star for effort but I'd like to suggest to her, The Element of Style book on grammar. Not worth the time to struggle through this book.
Okay, I love the biker books, the military and badasses..This one started out okay. It needs a bit of work though. It was okay, I stuck with it because I am that way, once I start I have to finish. I love the story line it just got a bit convoluted along the way.. The two main characters had a nice thing going and I really don't know what the heck went wrong with them. When was pretty messed up to give up on him to chase after the brother when clearly he doesn't want to be found. There is such a time to walk away and wait and it is obvious that she is too naive to see it..Will needs to either take charge or walk away as well. The characters need better development or stronger development...
DNF! Omg I should have listened to the other readers but I wanted to give this book the benefit of the doubt.
I couldn't even finish the first chapter. This book had so much potential but completely fell flat. I would really like a better writer to pick up this story line as I think it could be an amazing book.
There was so much wrong with this book. It was extremely rushed, every paragraph was a different tangent like the writer wanted to get information out but couldn't do it in a way that flowed.
Won't rate as in all fairness I didn't get past the first chapter. When
I found it hard to follow, not only the storyline but the characters as well. At the end of the day, since. I've reduced my reading challenge for this year, i'm being a bit more selective and determined to not read for the sake of it.
For anyone that wants to give it a go, it was free on Amazon at the time I 1-clicked it, so you have nothing to lose if you want to give it a try :)
This is the first book in the Knight's Disciple MC. Laura is studying criminal justice & trying to raise her teenage brother on her own since her parents died. Will is the Sergeant at Arms of the Knight's Disciple MC & considers Laura a good friend to the club because she made the town realize that they are not a bunch of thugs. When Laura's brother Lucas gets attention from a local gang wanting him to join Will & the MC step up to offer their protection.
I really don't like give a bad reviews, but damn...This is as bad as star shows it. The story is very confusing. I mean most of the time you are forced to go back and reread, because you got a feeling you missed something. The s*x scenes...Don't even go there. Characters had such a potential, but come flat. From the first chapter it was bad, but I keep pushing myself, hoping it will get better. It didn't. I really regret I pushed myself. I'm not going to get back the hours I wasted for this.
Laura lives to protect her brother who has gotten himself involved in gangs. Will, the head MC of a biker club, steps into help. Laura jumps into the sack with Will, Will protects Laura and tries to fix Lucas, her brother.
This was a muddled hot mess. Laura I felt was not deserving of Will, she treated him like crap. I also thought she was really an idiot when it came to her brother. I wanted to like but it was way to much drama for me.
So, I gave this 4 stars because I loved the Hero, Will Shriner. I very much disliked the heroine!!! She drove me crazy!! She was constantly making more trouble for everyone because she always thought her way was the right way, even after the H proved her wrong time and again!! None of her plans worked out, EVER!!! And the end results, 100% her fault!!! I love Sophia's books though, so I will continue read them!
Wow! This book was too busy and the grammar/spelling/punctuation was bad. Talk about wishy washy. It started out with Laura trying to protect her brother. He ends up joining a bad gang. Her and Will's relationship is drama. They are together and then not and then back together. Instead of going in to everything I don't like it would just be easier to say this book was too busy, too much drama, and to many grammar mistakes.
DNF!!! I just couldn't finish this book. 19% in the book and I had to stop. The first scene together I could have sworn they took off their pants off twice. I even rolled my eyes at h being high on "erotica dope" as he "pumping into her like thunder". Next scene the bikers want to teach her and her brother karate. I just couldn't do it anymore.
Ok I could not finish this. There was so many times I had to stop and re-read what was written. And oh my goodness did every single page have to have sex. Oh and let's not forget having sex within two minutes of meeting in the hallway where her younger brother is like right there. Don't think I will be reading anymore of this series.
It just wasn't that good.... And then in the middle it changed abruptly so much so I went back a chapter to check there wasn't a formatting error or anything!!! The heroine was just a whiny butch with absolutely no substance and the story just wasn't good enough to get your teeth into!! The only thing good about this was the premise!!! It massively failed to deliver though
This book was an ok read. I felt like I've read it before but then there were a few differences. I didn't expect the ending. Laura was a flake. It jumped around quickly and I got a little lost. Needs editing but I could get over that. Just didn't mesh well for me.
WTF, this book is dreadful, don't waste your money or your intelligence ! One of the worst books I've read, in fact I didn't finish it, only read 1st chapter, should have got my money back.
This was my first book by Sophia Hampton and I really enjoyed it. The characters are realistic and believable. I liked the story and can not wait for more.
I do like biker reads but I like my biker a bit more rough around the edges the read itself flows and you can adapt to the story really well but there wasn't any edginess to it.
