She came back to her roots to find peace and stability. He's a nomad artist just passing through. Nothing about this is a match made in Heaven.
Pearl never planned to own a glass shop, but when the opportunity fell into her lap right after a tumultuous relationship ended...she couldn't have been more grateful. Back in her hometown, with her sister next door, Pearl is ready to take a breath and find her roots. So when the glass blower she hired decides to stick around for a few extra weeks, Pearl is absolutely, one-hundred-percent, NOT interested in getting to know him. Not even a little bit. Maybe. Sort of. Nope...no way. She's learned her lesson and she doesn't need a repeat, thank you very much.
Hutton hasn't stayed in one place for more than a couple of weeks in years, but the petite, dark haired shop owner has caught his attention and Hutton isn't one to be deterred so easily. He's worked hard to get where he is and he's determined to figure out what's so special about the bright eyed beauty. Now if he could just get her to actually have a conversation with him that wasn't about work...he might just have a chance of breaking down her defenses.
When a break-in at the shop gives Hutton the chance to play 'hero', he decides it's time to grab on with both hands...and maybe plant both feet firmly in one place. For the first time ever, his heart is less in his work...and more in pinning down his wounded boss.

💡🎨 A guarded shop owner, a wandering artist, and a love that refuses to stay temporary 🎨💡
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) Spice-meter: 🌶️☆☆☆☆ (1/5) Audiobook: 🎧 Duet Series: Shops on Main, Book 5 (interconnected standalone) HEA: Yes
The Brightest Shop on Main continues the soft, cozy charm of the Shops on Main series with a story that leans heavily into sweetness, healing, and emotional safety. This fifth installment keeps things firmly in closed-door territory, focusing more on connection and comfort than tension or spice.
Like the previous books, it works perfectly as a standalone, but returning to this small-town community feels like slipping back into something familiar and easy. If anything, this series knows exactly what it wants to be: low-drama, heartwarming, and quietly romantic.
The Story
Pearl never expected to end up running a glass shop, but after a messy breakup, it becomes exactly what she needs: stability, purpose, and a fresh start back in her hometown. With her sister nearby and a chance to rebuild her life, romance is the last thing on her mind.
Enter Hutton.
A traveling glass blower who never stays in one place for long, Hutton is the exact opposite of everything Pearl thinks she needs. He’s persistent, curious, and far too interested in breaking through her carefully built walls.
What starts as a strictly professional arrangement slowly shifts as Hutton refuses to keep things surface-level. And when a break-in at the shop gives him the perfect excuse to step closer, the line between temporary and something real starts to blur.
This story leans into gentle progression rather than big emotional swings. It’s about soft healing, cautious trust, and allowing yourself to try again even when it feels risky.
🎧 Narration
Performed in duet by CJ Bloom and Lance Greenfield.
CJ Bloom once again proves why she’s such a strong voice in this genre. She brings warmth and emotional nuance to Pearl, making her guarded nature feel understandable rather than distant.
Lance Greenfield was new to me, but he absolutely holds his own. His portrayal of Hutton adds a relaxed, steady charm that fits the character’s wandering spirit while still giving him enough depth to feel grounded.
Together, they create a smooth and easy listening experience that matches the tone of the story perfectly.
What I Liked
✔️ A very sweet, closed-door romance ✔️ Small-town setting that feels cozy and familiar ✔️ The contrast between rooted heroine and nomad MMC ✔️ Fun nicknames that add personality to the romance ✔️ Low-drama, comforting storyline
The Brightest Shop on Main is a soft, easy, and comforting read that stays true to the tone of the series. It doesn’t aim for high stakes or intense drama, instead choosing to focus on sweetness, healing, and a romance that unfolds gently over time.
That said, if you’re looking for something with more depth or emotional intensity, this one might feel a bit too safe. The story remains firmly in its comfort zone, which works for the vibe but can leave you wanting just a little more.
Still, for readers who love cozy, low-spice small-town romances with kind characters and a guaranteed HEA, this delivers exactly what it promises.
ALC: One of the most wholesome & sweet romances I have listened to in a long time!
📚⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🎧⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went into this thinking I was going to get Hallmark, and I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the emotional depth and growth of the main characters. Hutton is not only hot, but charming, charismatic, emotionally intelligent, supportive, protective, and anything else you would want in guy. Pearl, his little clam nugget (LOL), is a strong, family orientated, intelligent, fierce but guarded female and I enjoyed to read her journey to open her heart again to love.
The narrators were amazing and brought everyone to life. CJ Bloom & Lance Greenfield kept me engaged throughout. Lance really nailed the protector, calming, supportive vibes that Hutton’s character has. Pearl is super relatable and CJ really brought the emotional depth that Pearl has with her struggles to open up to life. Together they created the best dynamic and kept the story moving beautifully.
If you’re into slow burning, small town romances with a little mystery that tug at your heartstrings. & give you all the warm & fuzzies, this is definitely for you.
This closed-door romance was an absolute delight—soft, sweet, and effortlessly charming with just the right touch of mystery to keep things interesting. The story leans into a cutesy, feel-good atmosphere without feeling shallow, offering a slow-burn connection between the characters that’s full of meaningful glances, witty banter, and emotional warmth rather than explicit scenes. What really stood out was how the light, cozy tone was balanced by an underlying thread of intrigue that gently unfolded alongside the romance, adding depth and keeping me turning the pages. It’s the kind of book that feels like a warm hug with a hint of curiosity—perfect if you’re in the mood for something wholesome, engaging, and quietly captivatin.
The audiobook experience was genuinely enjoyable, thanks to the narrators. Their performances brought a level of energy, personality, and polish that elevated the material far beyond what’s on the page. Each character felt distinct, and the pacing, inflection, and emotional delivery kept me engaged.
The Brightest Shop On Main is a lovely story of learning to love and trust again, espcially when someone proves they will be by your side.
Sutton is a glass sculptor who will be working at Pearl's shop for three months. The two meet as Pearl is running away from someone who broke into her shop. Hutton decides to help with getting her shop back up and running and also finding out who it was. He is drawn to Pearl and pursues his interest in her. Their relationship is slow due to Pearl having been hurt in the past, but Hutton shows patience and shows he will be there for her.
CJ Bloom and Lance Greenfield were easy to listen to. They brought out the characters personalities. CJ captured Pearl's quiet, reserved side but I loved listening during those moments where she brightened up around Hutton. Lance was perfect for Hutton's fun, playful side. His constant mission to find Pearl a nickname was one of my favorite things. Lance also gave Hutton his tender side when it came to Pearl.
This is a perfect small town, workplace romance. It has a little mystery, romance, no spice, and lots of family and friends.
When she needs help, he’s the man for the job Such a wonderful story with a mix of romance, a touch of mystery, and struggling with the past and the present. Pearl has returned to her hometown to open a shop specializing in glass decorations. To boost business, she has arranged for a popular blown, glass artist to do demonstrations in her shop. Little did she know she’d meet that artist, Hutton, as he is rescuing her from a burglar trying to get into her shop. When the vandal returns and the threat to Pearl’s shop continues, Hutton insists that he will protect and help Pearl through all that she is facing. As they work together to rebuild the inventory, find the vandal, set up his demonstration, and work through their growing attraction they find themselves being drawn closer and closer together. A wonderful read to enjoy. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
Pearl owns a glass shop now that she has returned to her hometown after a bad relationship. She decides to have a glassblower who is popular on social media spend some time in her shop to increase business. He is smitten at first sight, and she is adamantly against a relationship. He wears her down in the best way, and they really are great together. I loved so much about this listen narrated by CJ Bloom and Lance Greenfield. It also has a great supporting cast of characters in siblings and the other shop owners on the main. This sweet series has another solid installment with Pearl and Hunt’s love story. Hunton finds a community to finally settle down in and a love he didn’t expect, and Pearl finds a partner that restores her belief in love. Great listen and another sweet story in this cute small town.
A cozy small town romance book 5 of the Shops on Main series. Pearl returns to her hometown after a bad breakup and decides to dive back into life opening a shop for glass blown art and trinkets. Hutton Garcia is the glass blower who is under contract to demonstrate and provide finished items to the shop.
Hutton along with his brother travel up for a 3 month stint that looks easy in and out job. Until Hutton meets Pearl. Will they fight the attraction to each other or will Pearl's past continue to dictate her future?
Closed door romance, Very sweet story with HEA Narrators are CJ Bloom and Lance Greenfield. A very refreshing story by Laura Ann. Thank you BlueNose for the ALC and introducing me to a new author
Book 5 in the Shops on Main series Performed in dual narration by CJ Bloom & Lance Greenfield
Pearl and Hutton
Pearl runs the local gift shop. She has organised a local glass blowing artist to work out of her shop.
Hutton is a glass artist and will be spending a few months at Pearls shop demonstrating and making some items for her shop.
He is smitten from their first meeting. Pearl has had experience with playboy type men before and taking one look at Hutton she is sure to keep her distance.
If you want a wholesome, suspense read this series is the one. I am really enjoying it. I enjoy Laura Ann’s writing and story telling.
I enjoyed the performances by CJ Bloom & Lance Greenfield
This series just doesn’t miss and this one? Easily a favorite. Pearl and Hutton are the most unexpected match, but somehow they just mesh so well. Small-town charm, a glass shop next door to her sister, and a nomad glassblower who walks in and flips everything upside down? Say less.
Add in the ongoing break-ins, close call for Pearl, and a twist I did NOT see coming… I was locked in.
The narration for this one? Next level. CJ Bloom brought all the sass and heart to Pearl, while Lance Greenfield absolutely delivered that protective, yearning Hutton energy from the start. Together, they made this story hit even harder.
Romance + a little mystery + all the feels = obsessed. Highly recommend
Book 5 of The shops on main series. Pearl returns to her hometown to run a glass shop. Hutton is hired as a glass blower for Pearl’s shop. Can they work together and ignore the attraction towards each other. When Pearl’s shop has been broken into Hutton decides he will help figure out who the culprit is. This is a cozy small town romance with no spice which is refreshing in a read. The narrators CJ Bloom and Lance Greenfield captivated me since this was my first audiobook with them. Thank you Bluenose for the ALC and Laura Ann for such a fresh series that I can not wait to dive into more of. #workplaceromance #cozy romance
Pearl owns a decorative art glass shop and Hutton makes wonderful glass art. He’s been invited to town to help two shops, including Pearl’s, as well as his own business to promote Oregon artists. He’s fascinated by Pearl and even though her history at first prevents her from accepting his affection, she soon learns he’s being truthful. When another robbery attempt at her glass store brings family difficulties for Pearl, Hutton is there to help her handle it with grace and love. A HEA story I recommend. I received this book for free to review and these are my own thoughts.
This is the 5th book of the Shops on Main series, and if you’re looking for a sweet no spice small town story this is for you. I think Hutton might be my favorite MMC of this series, but honey thy are all super sweet. I loved the silly nicknames he gave Pearl, in fact that might be my favorite part of the story. I also loved the relationship between him and his brother Soren. If you’re looking for a quick wholesome love story, look no further! And CJ Bloom of course did an amazing job, and Lance Greenfield is a new to me narrator who brought Hutton to life perfectly!
✩°。⋆⸜ ♥️🎧✮ Audiobook Review! ✩°。⋆⸜ ♥️🎧✮ This is the fifth book in the Shops on Main series, a cozy mystery small town romance. I loved Pearl and Hutton's sweet and clean romance. Their story is filled with intrigue, suspense, drama, and heartfelt slow burn. Hutton is handsome and supportive. I loved his protectiveness. Pearl is beautiful, smart, and determined. They are perfect together. CJ Bloom and Lance Greenfield did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. #BlueNoseAudio
Ahh the twist in this book really got me!! Laura is such a talented author - you think you might worry that with a small town romance series, it may seem redundant - but she just - ahhh - gives them such unique and wonderful personalities and character development - so refreshing, realistic and relatable and you can't help but want more....and along with all the juicy romance (yes clean romance is still juicy) comes amazing friendships and found family unlike any others! Hutton is such a man! Go Pearl!!
I can't stop recommending these books to people, they are so cute!! Not to say that they don't brush on topics that are heartfelt or dramatic but the finding of your love or overcoming those obstacles with someone is truly the best. These are what these type of books are for, just to feel good and be able to share these with your daughter maybe 🤔 if it's a mom daughter share book situation.
Keep them coming!

We all need a man like Hutton…smart, brave, kind, unwavering, attentive, loving…what did I miss? Nothing! I read this beautiful story and KNOW why Hutton is all those things…on top of being Pearls’s Happily Ever After! Don’t overlook this addition to the Shops on Main series!
I really enjoyed the romance in this story. You can’t help but live “Hot Hut”. I loved how he treated Pearl. I did feel like this one lack the depth of story the other ones had. There was t much involvement from the friends.
Pearl longs to find love but has been burned in the past. Hutton feels the same. Pearl and Hutton are both so kind and I loved seeing them fall for each other. There is a bit of mystery in this book that draws them even closer. Great series and looking forward to the next book.
What an engaging storyline, with HEA! I love the entire series-gets you thinking how you would feel when things are going downhill, and then do you accept help, and love too?!’
Pearl met the handsome glass sculpter when he came to town on contact. Hutton and Pearl had an instant connection. Together they figure out who is breaking into her store, which brings a whole other issue.
