A family death makes Christian rethink his move and leave Colorado behind, along with Dannika. Forced to fend for herself with a prosperous business, but not the guy, Dannika learns to trust herself. When Christian returns can he convince her he’s worth trusting too?
I am absolutely in love with Violet Vaughn's writing!!!
Dannika is an ex-model who has found her calling in opening a western clothing store. Christian has come to Breckenridge to escape his harsh big time job in the city....and he's also Gretchen's brother. The two instantly have sexual tension but don't want to act on it for the fear of things not turning out and possible awkwardness due to the fact that Dannika's brother and Christian's sister are together.
Christian has to return home and leaves Gretchen to run the store by herself and she comes to realize that she doesn't have to have Christian to make things work.
I love the fact that Violet writes strong women leads that compliment their male counterparts and walk beside them in the story instead of behind. I totally recommend this and every single one of Violet's book to everyone!
Entertainingly romantic adult read! Nika/Dannika is a beautiful, rich, intelligent ex-model now working as a ski instructor. She lives in a beautiful house she had built for her twin brother, Derrick, her three dogs and herself. Since then, Derrick has fallen in love, with Gretchen, and moved on. Nika's friends all have boyfriends. It's lonely coming home to an empty house since Derrick moved. She hasn't dated lately, men are often intimidated by her beauty, fearing her rejection. Nika's friends encourage her to approach men, flirt. Nika's not comfortable flirting, but makes the effort with Kelly (a coworker). Christian (Gretchen's brother), comes to town and becomes Nika's houseguest. He's confident, handsome and a financial whiz. He helps Nika realise her career passion and strengths. Christian has his own relationship insecurities. And then there's Neal, who's been attracted to Nika for some time. Nika's loneliness seems to be a thing of the past! Or is it? Has her career and love life been resolved? Ms. Vaughn reveals the answers as Nika emerges a strong woman, demanding respect, fierce! It's a wonderful, fun read. Will look for the next book. I received this book for free for an honest review.
Favorite of the series so far. Vaughn takes a weak woman reliant on the men around her and turns her into a strong independent woman who finds love. Great characters!
