For anyone wanting to write a novel, this book is great. It outlines everything you need to know about character development, plot development etc... The exercises in the book are great to get you going and organize your thoughts and ideas. I highly recommend.
I think the characterization and storytelling skills of creative writing would be useful for owned media marketing. It should also help in creating YouTube videos and social media scenarios for what kind of character you want to present yourself as. In that sense, this book was helpful.
You can write, and discover the tricks on your own, or you can read a book on writing and still not get it. (Can't cheat on the wisdom of practical experience.)
