The Iliad focuses on the greatest hero of the Trojan War, Achilleus. This unit is a book-by-book analysis of the epic, but also includes a brief apologetic for studying Classical Literature in general. This 5-6 week course will acquaint students with the characteristics of epic and Greek worldview, as well as the story line. This material has been developed for juniors, but may be adapted to other grade levels. It can also be used by students to self-teach the course. 116 pages.
