Four friends. Women in their seventies, with Southern sass and hidden secrets. Going to church and the occasional trip to the yogurt shop is comfortable. The same. Easy...expected of people their age. But something inside is fighting for change…to make a difference. To matter. Again.
They were an elite CIA black ops team fifty years ago, and being called back into a life they thought they had left behind has come completely unexpected. However, it's like kerosene has been poured on dying embers. Memories of historical accomplishments and visions of conquering evil overpower stiff knees and indigestion.
But when they come face to face with an enemy from the past, and one of them goes missing, those visions turn into desperation. They are in danger of losing hope, the mission, and their friendship.
This was a clean and funny mystery. I loved the characters descriptions and could picture it in my head as I read about their plans as retired but reactivated CIA operatives. Hope there will be another adventure for the ladies of this book!
Filled with lovable and funny women who deeply care about one another, this book reminds us about the true meaning of friendship. These ladies, now in their 70s and former CIA agents, still have what it takes to bring down bad guys. Great read! I can’t wait to read the next one! (There will be a next one, right?!)
