You can’t outrun the past, especially when it comes back to get you.

Nolan has been in the scientists’ hands for months. He’s finally rescued, but it’s only to be abandoned in a snowy Whitedell, alone. Luckily for him he’s a cat shifter, and who wouldn’t want to adopt a cute kitty like him? That’s how he ends up in the middle of a house full of felines so much bigger than him, who could eat him for breakfast. They don’t, but a new problem arises. Nolan meets his mate, a mate he doesn’t want.

Casey ran from his birth pride years ago and spent most of his life alone in his cheetah form. After being rescued by Dominic, the pride’s Alpha, he is happy to find his mate, even if it seems Nolan doesn’t want him. Just as they start solving their problems, someone from Casey’s past comes back, someone who will do anything to have him back, even hurting Casey, or worse, Nolan.

Will Nolan and Casey be able to save their budding relationship from Casey’s past, or will they be separated forever?

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

I liked this one a bit less than the first two. The villain was ridiculous and came out of nowhere.

Still, it’s shifters, biting, mating, hot man on man sex, a little bit of hurt/comfort thrown in, and voila, we have ourselves a book.

So I stumbled upon these after reading another Charlie Richards book and realized this is another series involving shifters and their fated mates...

Unfortunately, Leivens' writing tends to lack a bit of Richards' charm. Don't get me wrong, they're enjoyable, but they really start to lose steam quickly, so while I've read more than fifty of Richards' books, I've read five of Lievens', and I'm not sure I care whether or not I read any more.

On top of all that, these all seem like they were run through a translator and then not double checked for accuracy. The mixing up of conjunctions and prepositions smacks of English as a second language. Plus, there's just bizarre wording, both in this book and in subsequent works, that makes me think Lievens isn't entirely comfortable with English.

"…so it meant they would have to watch an animation movie."

"The way in which every feeling the man was experimenting passed in his eyes…"

"Nolan's hands wounding in his hair."

"…the feelings he had been experimenting at the time…"

Weird shit like that made the text awkward to read. Still, if you're a fan of Charlie Richards, you might get a little thrill out of these low-angst paranormal romps.

This was book 3 in the "Whitedell Pride" series. I really liked this book Nolan was held in a lab being experimented on for months until one of the guards got him out. Nolan is a cat shifter and he has been in cat form running around the city eating rats when one of the Pride mates Marian found him not knowing that he is a shifter. Casey who is a young cheetah shifter who Dominic took in when he was running around in his shifter form he and his parents fled his birth pride when the alpha caught him kissing another boy when the pride found them they killed his parents but he got away. When Marian goes into the kitchen of the mansion he smells his mate on her. Nolan doesn't know what to think he smells his mate but he is scared because he is in a house with big cats and in the past the big cats looked down on him for being a domestic cat so when Casey comes to find him he runs right into Dominic's office. Nolan shifts and tells them about being in the lab he also tells Casey that he doesn't want a mate because he is not very sexual. After talking to his mother Nolan finds out why he is not sexual. This was a pretty good read the new Alpha of Casey's old pride comes for a visit he wants him back he also brings is Aunt Elena and Uncle Trevor to try to convince him but he didn't know that Casey is mated his aunt finds her mate in a shifter by the name of Steve. When Gregory tries to kill Nolan and Casey they defend themselves and Casey kills him. While out shopping Nolan sees a familiar face turns out the man that saved him was Craig from "The Gillham Pack" Trevor and Elena join the pride. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series Finn and Bryce.

I will say that I do like that in this series, or at least this one and the first one, there seemed to be a bit more of a "I want to get to know you first" rather than insta-love like most standardized shifter romances I've read. I do wish that someone would come up with something other than the whole "scientist did experiments on shifters" plot since there are so many others out there with the same overall plot arc. Still, a decent addition to the series and I enjoyed it!

Like many in the Whitedell Pride Series a lovely light meal. I am on a reread binge in between new discoveries and for now, it is Catherine Lievens' series. Reviews will be short and focus on the main elements that differ from the rest. All of her books have interesting characters with the main characters well-developed and the side characters less so. The world is consistent for the most part and the plot is interesting. In this book, the twist is that the past comes into play in an unexpected way.

Whitedell Pride 3
You can’t outrun the past, especially when it comes back to get you.

Luckily for him he’s a cat shifter, and who wouldn’t want to adopt a cute kitty like him? That’s how he ends up in the middle of a house full of felines so much bigger than him, who could eat him for breakfast. They don’t, but a new problem arises. Just as they start solving their problems, someone from Casey’s past comes back, someone who will do anything to have him back, even hurting Casey, or worse, Nolan.
Will Nolan and Casey be able to save their budding relationship from Casey’s past, or will they be separated forever?

Summary:
Nolan's life was changed forever when he was kidnapped and left at the hands of scientists who treated their captives without feeling. If it wasn't for one guard Nolan would never have escaped. Casey lost his family when they ran from their alpha when he was sixteen, but only Casey lived. After years of living as an animal, Casey found a family at The Whitedell Pack and never looked back. Casey and Nolan never expected to find each other, but fate had a hand if they can just open themselves to the chance of happiness until their past caught up with them. The terror that Nolan felt at the hands of the scientists is continuing by the shifters still being held captive. The happiness Nolan felt when he was reunited with his family was wonderful, but it was hysterical how Casey appeared like a deer-in-the-headlights as they overwhelmed him in more than their shear number! The Whitedell Pack is determined to free everyone being held if they figure out where they are being held.

3.5 STARS

This is the first book in the series to match two feline shifters as mates but while Casey is a cheetah, Nolan is a cute little domestic kitty. So you would think it would make it easier for Casey to claim his mate, right? If Nolan knows they’re destined to be together? Well that wouldn’t make for a very interesting story, so of course it’s not that simple and I kind of love the reason why. Nolan doesn’t like sex. He’s tried it, he wasn’t impressed, so the last thing he wants to do is tie himself to a mate who will want to, well, mate all the time.

Four and half stars!
Another wonderful book in the Whitedell Pride series. I loved how Casey set Nolan at easy with his fears about having a mate. I wasn’t sure how things were going to go with Casey’s family, but I truly enjoyed how that turned out.I’m curious how the lab story line is going to go in the next few books. There were some good hints about that, and a new character that I’m sure if we’re supposed to like or hate yet. Nolan and Casey are wonderful together and they were easy to love. Watching them dance around each other at first, then fall for each other was beautiful. I can’t wait to see more of them in future books.

Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance

We continue the saga of the illegal labs with recent escapee Nolan, a cat shifter. Unlike the other cat shifter's we have encountered so far, however... Nolan is a normal housecat type shifter, not a big cat. Of course, he manages to find himself in the Whitedell Pride mansion and within smelling distance of his mate.

If you like Stephani Hecht's The Lost Shifters and Charlie Richards' Wolves of Stone Ridge then you should like this series.
The background plot is about scientists but each book focuses on the main couple whilst progressing the story of the characters we have already met.
This story follows a cat shifter who finds himself in a house full of big cats.

The whole series would benefit from a good visual spell check to fix the incorrect word usage where extra letters are added or omitted.

story progress in usuall way :)

who likes nice fluff will probably like these series.

We have some drama(so to speak) in each book and scientists are main bad guys in background continuing from book to book.

Don't they say the definition of insanity is repeating the same actions and expecting a different outcome or something? And yet here I am apparently slowly going insane as I think I will still be reading the next one in the series.
