Chaos in Bloom: The Beginning

Rate this book
Emma Hartgrave has the voice of a star—and the scars to match. Alongside her adopted, mute sister Susie, a piano prodigy with unmatched stage presence, she’s on the brink of something big. When veteran music managers Andy Somerset and Wade Barker spot their raw talent, they propose the Hartgrave Sisters collaborate with The Tellers, an up-and-coming gritty rock band from Manchester, and create something unforgettable.

What follows is a whirlwind of late-night writing sessions, demo track recordings, record deals, viral fame, and the creation of a legacy that begins onstage—and burns brightest off of it.

In a world where every lyric is scrutinized and every misstep is monetized, Emma learns that chasing greatness means losing parts of yourself along the way—including the one thing she never expected to love.

Set against the shimmering chaos of Los Angeles in 2017, Chaos in Bloom is the explosive first act of the Hartgrave Tellers’ rise—a story about fame, found family, and a romance that doesn’t save you, but walks with you while you chase your dreams.

I’ve always been a storyteller at heart. From writing poetry that found its way onto websites to crafting articles, editing, and even working as a publishing manager for a children’s book company—I’ve had my hands in words for a while. But now? Now I’m diving headfirst into my own love stories, and I’m finally releasing my debut romance novel, Through the Glory and the Mess: A Hartgrave Tellers Story in July 2025.

It’s a story that blends everything I love: music, drama, and the kind of fiery, complicated relationships that remind me of Fleetwood Mac. If you’re a Swiftie, a Bridgerton girlie, or someone who loves a bit of rockstar romance with a side of chaos—you just might fall in love with this one too.

When I’m not writing, you can find me designing, painting, singing, or lost in a superhero movie marathon (because yes, I’m a geek girl through and through). Nothing beats a night of writing with my favourite playlist on repeat.

So, welcome to my little corner of the literary world. I can’t wait to share my stories with you. Let’s get lost in the romance together.

I was expecting the typical debauchary that you get from a rockstar romance- sex, drugs and rock n roll- but Chaos In Bloom read more like a documentary of two bands merging with each other, trying to make it in Los Angeles. Told in alternating chapters, Emma Hartgrave and Liam Teller are the front people in their respective bands. The first time they meet, it’s apparent to everyone they share vision. The book takes you through their song writing together. Was so interesting to experience how they did that together playing off ideas, and lyrics were outstanding. I will say it began to lag at 75%. Loved all the band members and wish there was a bit more with them versus just Emma and Liam. There is no OW/OM drama, and the angst is pretty low. Ended with a bit of a teaser from part 2.
Thanks to BookSirens for this ARC, as always my opinions are my own

Talk about a slow burn 😮‍💨 this had me wanting more with every page. FMC Emma and MMC Liam had me Captivated with their dynamic and chemistry throughout the whole book. From the start they have this connection together and with the other characters that creates a familial environment making you feel everything right along side them. The way Aya uses descriptive details to make you feel the environment, music, and energy throughout the book kept me reading without pause; and waiting for more.
Overall, I enjoyed the writing style, plot, and characters, and I look forward to when the next part comes out so I can read what comes of it all.

Chaos in Bloom hit me like a thunderclap. The writing pulses with energy, heartbreak, and hope. Emma and Susie Hartgrave are two of the most compelling characters I’ve read in years flawed, fierce, and unforgettable. The music scenes are so vivid I could hear the songs playing. It’s more than a story about fame, it’s about art, sacrifice, and the love that keeps you grounded when everything else is spinning. A stunning debut that deserves every bit of its spotlight.

Chaos in Bloom: The Beginning is an electrifying, emotionally rich story that captures the brutal beauty of rising fame. Emma and Susie Hartgrave shine with raw authenticity from their undeniable talent to the wounds they carry into every lyric. Aya Winter crafts a world filled with late-night creativity, viral breakthroughs, and the intoxicating promise of becoming something more. This is not just a music-driven novel; it’s a story about chosen family, ambition, love that steadies rather than saves, and the cost of chasing greatness. A powerful, immersive start to a legacy readers will want to follow.

Music managers Andy and Wade, have discovered two talents that they feel could merge and become a successful vision of meshing them together. The Hartgrave Sisters and the band The Tellers chase their dreams as the Hartgrave Tellers. This first book in a series is well written and sets the stage for more to come

I liked this book. I received an advanced copy for free, and I am leaving a review voluntarily.

Chaos in Bloom is an emotional, beautifully written story that captures both the magic and the madness of chasing dreams. Emma’s journey feels raw and real. the highs of fame and the heartbreak that comes with it. The bond between the sisters and the spark of unexpected love make this story unforgettable. It’s haunting, passionate, and deeply human.

Well, this book certainly had sexual tension between the two main characters, but it was very slow going. The plot was interesting but also slow going. However, I still want to read the next in the series just to find out ow everything happens and also what happens between the main characters. Thank you BookSirens for the copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

ARC from Book siren

It was with interesting characters and a cool premise.

Sometimes a two parter gets slogged down trying to make a two book deal. Otherwise cool characters!!
