What happens in Vegas— Could be Murder…
Someone is methodically killing past members of The Consortium, a defunct group of ruthless businessmen. They’d made their fortunes buying and selling prime Las Vegas real estate during the era that saw the beginnings of the mega casino and luxury hotels. Homicide Detective, Kennedy O’Brien and her temporary partner, Reno Homicide Detective Hunt, race to stop a killer who claims a new victim every forty-eight hours. The search for clues seems easy—too easy Kennedy suspects.
While chasing the killer, Kennedy must try to control hot-headed Detective Hunt, who is hell-bent on finding out who killed his best friend’s father, the first victim. At the same time, she has to deal with a jealous Nick Campenelli, whom she may or may not be in a relationship with. Nick isn’t happy with Kennedy spending so much time in close contact with the very smitten, Detective Hunt. Tossed into the mix are her retired cop grandfather, her self-appointed personal slave, Elvis, and a boss who is demanding answers.
All reminders of why Kennedy doesn’t do relationships!

Teri Riggs was destined to be a writer. As a small girl she didn’t read bedtime stories, she made up her own. Who needed Little Red Riding Hood or The Three Little Pigs when there were so many great tales bouncing around in her head? When she grew up and became a mother to three little girls, she continued the tradition of making up bedtime stories. On the occasions she chose to tell conventional fairytales, Teri usually gave them a bit of tweaking here and there or added a new ending. Her girls loved it.
After her daughters had the nerve to actually grow up and leave home, Teri discovered she had a passion for writing and jumped right in. It came as no surprise she chose to write mysteries and happily-ever-after’s since that’s the genres she loves to read.
Teri lives in Marietta, Georgia with her husband, one of her daughters and two dogs that seem to think they rule the world. And some days Teri thinks maybe they do.

Teri still frequently tells herself stories as she falls asleep. The only difference now is she wakes up the next morning and turns her bedtime stories into books.

**I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.**

This is a fast moving murder mystery, set in Vegas, that grabs you from page one with a killing revealed in pretty graphic terms.
The main character, Kennedy, a Homicide Detective, comes from a family of cops, her father being killed in the line of duty. Although she comes across quite tough, she does have a softer side she tries hard to keep hidden.
I’m not a big fan of the use of excessive cursing in general and couldn’t relate to a woman, or a man for that matter who so often spoke so crudely, but that’s my personal taste. Despite that, I enjoyed the quick pace as Kennedy, her partner and another detective methodically tried to stop the killer, who is claiming victims every 48 hours. I liked her relationship with her grandfather, a retired cop as well as the possible love interests. There were many potential suspects and it was fun trying to figure out whom if any of them were the actual killer.

REVIEW
Old money brings massive murder...
Kennedy and Wilder have one massive killing case...
A detective from Reno has come to town and he isn't bad-looking but Kennedy just doesn't want him...And hey that may be a good thing in the end.

We get a few of the same characters who were in book 1 and I for one just adore Elvis...
Nick is showing his jealousy and adoration shows through even more for Kennedy.
The killer? Yeah I didn't see it coming and wow.
Really enjoyed this one.
I would have enjoyed it even more if Nick and Kennedy got together!

A real pity that this seems to be the last of this series. I enjoy detective O’Brien’s feisty nature and her constant threats. Great secondary characters. I enjoyed the chase in this story and was almost disappointed that I had an idea who the murderer was.

Since I have read this author before I did look forward to venturing into this novel. Right off the first page this author grabbed me by the scruff of my shirt and held me captivated with a murder I got to witness first hand. Squee my kind of read-no tip toeing here right to it she goes. Next I am introduced to the homicide detective and her partner whom I know will be the main two characters with others of course. Kennedy is right away one gal I find funny and interesting. That is very important to me considering if the character doesn't grab me I will wonder away. She does come from a family of cops also so this is a path she willing followed. Of course I was happy to see a love interest with wanna be mayor-Nicolas who even though through the novel they will be playing cat and mouse with each other it will not be all consuming. In a excellent murder mystery even with romance you really do not want that. A author with the ability to entrap you in the story keeping you on edge does it with the meat of the mystery the rest is gravy. They are also on a time frame because this killer has a agenda and he or she is after some of the elite of the town. A group that at one time big shots now older and not so much. Someone has it out for them and you the reader also get the pleasure to flow along with Kennedy with her grit and humor to hone in on the bad guy. Lover boy will also have a bit of competition in the form of a visiting detective that will cause all kinds of great fun in reading. This author also though has given her the perfect partner to her character. With the cast of characters in this book the reading pleasure is quite excellent as you are being dragged by your scruff to catch a killer. Of course no spoilers here but if you too want to be thrilled, dragged, humored and just plain enjoy some mighty fine reading that will also leave you with a craving for more after the case is wrapped up then this is the ticket right here. Received a copy for a honest review.

This book starts out with a bang - a first hand look at murder in the first chapter!! If your pulse isn't pounding after this, then you may need to check it.

Teri Riggs has a great way of getting the reader wrapped up in the story - you can feel the fear, frustration and anger from each of the characters. While the detectives work feverishly to find their killer, they know they are "on the clock" as the killer takes another victim every 48 hours.

Speaking of characters - I love Elvis! He had me laughing out loud a couple of times and may have made me look a little crazy to my coworkers, but it's all good :)

Detectives O'Brien & James are a perfect match & play very well off of each other. The addition of a visiting Detective Hunt helps to throw a little curve ball into play - especially when it comes to Detective O'Brien & mayoral-candidate Nick Campenelli.

While The Eyes of Vengeance is the sequel to "The Eyes Die Last", I believe it can be read as a stand-alone as there is not too much back referencing done.

I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a good murder mystery type book with a strong female lead and a bit of romance thrown in for flavor :)

"The Eyes of Vengeance" is book two The Kennedy O'Brien Mysteries and a great follow up to "The Eyes Die Last". Detective O'Brien is caught up in a murder investigation that has the police baffled when the murderer seems to know their every step. The men involved in the homicides all have a connection from years back that may be the cause of their demise. One of the victims happens to be Mayoral hopeful Nick Campenelli's mentor, which of course brings the hottie businessman into Kennedy's vicinity more than she wants, or so she tells herself. Can they solve the case before all the Consortium members are murdered, or will the police fail to "Protect and Serve"?

I really like this series a lot and find it reminiscent of 80's cop/detective shows. It has a touch of romance but a lot of action that keeps your interest to the end.

Great Mystery, Suspense and Romance!! A must read!!
I loved this book. If you like to read mystery, murder, and romance that keeps you captivated, this is the book to read!! The author keeps your interest from the beginning of the book clear to the end!! It kept me on the edge of my seat with the suspense. Loved the main character, Detective Kennedy and her partner, Detective Wilder. Kennedy is a tough cookie with a little softie thrown in, even though she doesn't want to show it. Nick seems to be a good match for her, but will she let him??? Read to find out. :) Throw in Detective Hunt and you have some major mind boggling going on. Thanks for the great read Teri Riggs.

Excellent second offering. Things are heating up between Nick and Kennedy, much as she would like them to fizzle out. But the man has his ways along with an unending supply of grape taffy. The plot was well thought out and executed. I love the characters. Now, how about #3. Bring it on.

Murder and grape taffy?

Fast, fun, smart and suspenseful. What more could you want? More Kennedy and soon. I'll have to keep checking Ms. Rigg's Facebook page for the next release. Hope it's soon.
