Excerpt: There was an eerie silence inside that did not bother him because he needed the quietness to unload his secrets to the one person he trusts more than anyone in the world. He climbed the staircase to the second floor and into his study then closes the door. He looks around as if someone is supposed to be waiting for him then locks the door from the inside and makes his way over to his desk, collapsing into his butter leather desk chair. Throwing the envelope on the desktop he reaches inside of it and retrieves the tape recorder then reaches over and grabs a cigar from the box on his desk. He leaned back in the chair letting out a long sigh then brings the recorder closer to his mouth and presses record. “Tonight is the night that I will leave all of my secrets with you and they will only be known between the two of us. To the streets I am known as Kong but to everyone else I’m just plain ol’ Kevin Lang. For the past several years I’ve been living a double life and I do a damn good job at keeping the both of them separated. I run a lucrative trucking company that carries freight to forty-eight states plus Canada and Mexico as well as run other small businesses that I own but I also flood the streets with much coke and heroine. Tonight I will share with you my story because I know that you will not tell a soul. We all have secrets in this life and to end the speculation, yes, yes I live a secret life but so does the people that are the closes to me. We all wish we knew each other’s secrets but the fact of the matter is how can you figure out someone else’s secrets when you are too busy trying to hide your own? I am and always will be a loving husband and father plus a great provider for my family.” Kevin said just as the thunder rolled, cutting him off. Secrets can be an eye opener some are better left untold. When it comes to Kevin "Kong" Lang nothing could be more true. With secrets as long as arm, his life and the lives that surround him will never be the same.
Omg J I need part 2 asap! Secrecy was at its finest throughout this whole book. There was some minor errors but the book flowed so damn well. From the jump I didn't too much care for Abby. She was too money hungry and didn't know when to leave well enough alone. She was willing to take away from someone else all because she was indebted to someone else. Shawty was dumb for even following her up and it was bad Kamica felt the need to handle something started by him and her sister. Pop was crazy! He got Abby good but I'm sure he could've went about the situation a lot different and just moved on. Po' Boy was a straight ass that liked sending other people to do his dirty work. I'm mad at Kevin though because he didn't even introduce his right hand to his family. I had many moments where I could only say damn once the secrets started being revealed. Tiana conniving ass was doing too much and Kevin should've known better when dealing with her but it seems she can give him the one thing he thought he already had. Damn Dani! Her secret was trifling and she deserves whatever is thrown her way. I have a few questions but I sure can't wait to see what other craziness comes out. Will Tiana's secrets be put on front street and how will Kevin handle it, is Abby ready for the consequences of her greed and secrets, what lies ahead for Dani, will things be the same between Pop and Kong, will Shawty pay for all the wrong he's done, is Kong truly ready to leave his old life behind or handle all the issues at hand, and who was the unlucky person on the opposite end of the barrel??! Oh yeah you know SC got your back!
