Elina is a fae of the Western Woods, a region filled with tall forests and green fields. She lives a life of peaceful bliss until the day her father, the king of the fae, dies. Then everything goes wrong.
Her uncle assumes the throne, and his heart is as cruel as the biting north wind. He gives her only two to be sold as a bride to the dragon king of the southern region or be ‘removed’ from the line of succession. Elina chooses to cling to life and arrives at the southern capital city of the ancient dragon king, a creature tens of thousands of years old. She discovers a vibrant city with many sights and many secrets.
The worst-kept secret is the size of the king’s harem. He hosts dozens of women from all the surrounding kingdoms, and she finds herself awash in a sea of unfamiliar, and sometimes hostile, faces. Competition for the king’s affection is fierce among those seeking favors, and her pretty face is a magnet for jealousy and cruel tricks.
Now, Elina must face a new life and new dangers as she navigates a world of dark lies and even darker plots. All the while, a pair of golden dragon eyes watches her very closely.

An ok read. unfortunately I didn't find it to be the most exciting and it's so short for a book 1 that by the time anything actually happens the book is over and we have to wait for book 2.
I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't really Elina who fought off the magic, it was more the kings healer/advisor. And also that the king has all of these wives for all of these years and he shows zero interest in them and then all of sudden he meets Elina and hes obsessed after one 5 minite meeting. The book doesn't explain anything about how the huge number of "marriages" even work or if the women just show up, sign and then do nothing but eat and shop? Why couldn't other people within the kings court marry for the alliances instead of just the king? why are the wives family's even happy that their daughter is leaving to become wife number 10 etc?
There also wasn't anything to explain why Elina was being hunted/attacked randomly. i'm hoping there's an explanation in book 2.
The characters/book was sweet but I've come away from it with more questions than answers 🙈

I enjoyed the book, and it kept me reading! Good storyline. I’d have the editor pay closer attention to the repetitive/slightly odd descriptions “eyebrows crashed down” and “stabbed a finger in that direction”. (May just be my preference for not overusing words and phrases) Also, I saw a number of mistakes in spelling, typing, and word choice. However, I did enjoy the book and will read the next! (Mac, if you’re reading this, you need to get a more thorough editor.)
A fae princess loses her father. His brother that she believes killed her dad is now king. He has decided to marry her to the neighboring kingdom, which is ruled by the Dragon King. It’s a fast paced book. With wonderful characters.
This was a super cute read. I was thrown for a minute by the 12 wives thing. But they aren’t much of a presence in the book. So far I like Darius. lol. No “romance” so far. But even without it I was surprised how well I liked this book.
This book is addictive and funny. Spice 2 Fast paced Work building Magic, fae and dragons oh my !! And the cliffhanger didn’t knock me off the edge this time
One of the most addicting books I have read in 2025. I was not able to put it down! It was addicting, adventurous, and had a good small amount of romance.
I really liked the story. For me it was something fresh and new. Liked the world, magic and the different queens.Very curious how the story will develop in the second book.
