Constance Burris is a nerd, writer of diverse fiction, wife and mother. Most of her stories are speculative fiction. She was lost moment she read her first science fiction story in kindergarten about people living on Venus. When she discovered no one live there, she was heartbroken, but it didn't affect her love for all things fantastical.

A well-written, short horror story, where a bullied girl's magical hair independently seeks revenge on her behalf. Love it! (If I had that kind of power, a lot of people would be dead...just sayin'. lol).

I'm giving this little novella 4* instead of 5* because I wish to hear more of Shemeya, and what I had just finished reading wasn't enough for me.

Shemeya's story should be turned into a full-length novel.

Strong writing from this young author. Tendency toward cliche over characterization when it comes to secondary characters, exacerbated by the short length, but v. good modern-fantasy worldbuilding and excellent pacing. Would love to read more about the main character, and looking forward to more from this writer.

This is two seconds worth of book!! WTH!? What happens next? What does Shamaya decide?! Who is Jade?! Why is Sean so nonchalant!! I need to know things!

I thought this was a well written short that should be longer. The characters are interesting and Jade is mysterious enough that I want to know more. Surely it does not end here.
