Chelsea O'Neal is a dear friend and fellow writer in the Triple Threat Romance collective. Today marks her third release, "A Spellbinding Christmas," and I was lucky enough to read an early copy of the novella.

"A Spellbinding Christmas" is the first in a new series, Scott's Kinfolk Saga. Member's of the Scott family have received special gifts for generations. These gifts allow them to find and help those that need them. Trinity Falough is the youngest of the Scott family line and has been in love with Travis Young since she was eight years old. Unfortunately, he never noticed her... until she returns after being away from town for ten years to spend Christmas with her Gran.

To be honest I'm not a huge fan of novellas - I like to get my teeth in a story and novellas end way too quickly. They lack the character development of a full-length book in many instances and feel rushed more often than not in order to get the story from point A to point B. "A Spellbinding Christmas" left me wanting more because of the "novella" issues, but also because it was a story that caught my interest. I enjoyed the story and feel that it was well written, if not just a bit too clean and wrapped to neatly. This is what happens with a novella because there is just not enough time to really deal with the "angst" of a story that I love so much.

That being said, "A Spellbinding Christmas" is a sweet Christmas story about coming home, letting go, and finding love.

Removing my personal preferences, I give this story 5-stars. My personal preferences make it a 4-star read for me.

A CHARMING AND MAGICAL TALE

this is an novella - a quick charming christmas tale introducing us to trinity scott who is coming home after 10 years- as the story unflolds we find that she was avoiding her next door neighbor travis who she has always had a crush on since meeting him when she was 8- but her gram has called and really wants her to come this christmas so home she goes- i must admit i thought he story was a bit rushed but that usually happens with a novella- everything tied up with a bow-- but it made sense and it gave me a good feeling as i finished it- and i am looking forward to reading more about the magical gifts the scott family have and how they use them

Gran is an awesome old lady who basically plays matchmaker with trinity and travis! trinity comes to visit her grandmother and after some tension between her and travis (who helps her grandma out) sparks end up flying in the snow! Then gran gives her an awesome christmas present....but i can't tell you without spoiling the ending!!!

I was given this book for an honest review. Trinity comes back home to see her Grams after not seeing her for 10 years. She also see Travis. He is the neighbor of her Grams, and the man that she had a crush on for all of those years. Grams gives a special Christmas present. If you want to know what that is than you will need to read this.

I'm the author, so of course I give it 5 stars. I will say that I am excited for everyone to be introduced into this world. Lucy's story is next, and that is going to be a slight nail biter...

Good short story. Has two different stories happening in it at the same time. I like Trinity, Trevor, and Gran a lot. Can't wait to find out more about this little town and its inhabitants.
