Skylar has never fit in. Being normal is something she has always craved but has never known. When Skylar finds herself waking up in a cell alone, she suddenly misses her old life. The first time they strap her down and withdraw her blood she knows she is in a load of trouble. Her purple blood fills vial after vial leaving her weak on the floor. The only thing that makes it worse is the loud monstrous sounds coming from the cell next to her.

Marcus has been a Vampire a long time, but in his centuries of life he has never encountered someone as unique as Skylar. It’s not just her addicting blood or her wondrous smell. It’s something more.

As Skylar tries to find her way in Marcus’ world, Marcus tries to keep her safe.
In a world that is dark and unknown, can two people so different find love?

First of all, the blurb for this book doesn't do it justice. This book has it all for paranormal romance fans - a variety of supernatural "creatures," escapes, battles, kidnappings, a possessive alpha male, and hot sex. (We all know how well those last two go together!)

Don't let the fact that this is a new author scare you!! In Violet, M.L. Med has produced a solid debut novel. This book is well written and the author has created an interesting world with diverse characters. You will FEEL right along with Marcus and Skyler. The secondary characters are intriguing as well, to the point that I am already jonesing for the next book because I didn't get enough of them! (Caden, oh Caden, just what will happen to you?!)

This book is quite fast paced. The above mentioned kidnappings and battles? Just a small part. Looking back I almost can't believe all the events in just this one story! While it made for an exciting read, I do have to say sometimes I felt like it was a little too hurried. I would have liked to have had a bit more background and detail for certain scenes, and perhaps a bit more reaction or "head talk" from the minds of our hero and heroine instead of what felt like at times, a rush to the next conflict. This is a matter of personal preference though, as I am sure many readers will love how action packed this book is.

Overall, I am quite impressed with this debut. There were times that I had to remind myself that this is M.L. Med's first novel. Some of the ideas in the book have been done before, but the author manages to combine them in a way that keeps them interesting. I was hooked and motivated to keep reading throughout, and now will impatiently wait for the sequel!

M.L. Med's debut novel "Violet" captured my interest right from the start. It was fast paced, has an array of characters, action packed throughout with a love story mixed in. For me at times it was a bit rushed from scene to scene and I would have loved a bit more background in some areas, but still thoroughly enjoyed the book right to the end. Overall, a great book to read from a first time author. I can't wait to read her next book and to see her grow as an author.

Phenomenal read! This author kills it! The storyline was interesting and the characters had depth. I literally could not put the book down. When I neared the end of the book I was hoping that the author would continue Violet into a series. I was pleased to learn that M.L.Med is continuing the series with a projected release of her second book in early 2015! This author should be on your MUST READ list!!

This book is compelling, interesting and keeps you entertained throughout the book. I purchased all three books in the series and read them all in 3 days. You connect with M.L Med's characters and fall in love with their story.
