Dragonis Academy #4

Queen of the Cursed Egg

Rate this book
When they said only the strong would survive, they weren't joking.

Between deadly gauntlets, cutthroat classmates, and my father's relentless attempts to transform me into a dracolich, death has become my closest companion. As the sole surviving fourth year at Shadowcarve Academy, I've evolved from student to reluctant mentor for my younger mates. The school has little left to teach me that my father didn't already beat into my bones.

Did I mention that Thauglor has hatched, and Abraxis is slowly becoming his terrifying mini-me? It's equal parts hilarious and horrifying. My nest remains dangerously unbalanced—with three dominant drakes, one temperamental basilisk, and my other volatile mates, a bloodbath could erupt at any moment.

We're essentially fighting a war on three fronts. My father and his minions relentlessly test our defenses. The mages systematically hunt dragons before they can ascend to wyrm status. Worst of all, our elders have redacted so much history that truth has become indistinguishable from lies. The differences between the original texts I discovered in my father's study and the sanitized academy versions are staggering.

My mates and I survey the battlefield before us and forge plans to protect our progeny and our flight. For all the unspeakable evils my father forced me to endure, he succeeded in creating something unexpected—a weapon capable of defending not only our continent, but challenging even him.

So many small problems… inconsistencies, pacing problems, repetition, vague world building while tedious over explaining of pointless things. There were so many similar if not identical sentence/paragraphs about the same thing over and over and over again. Like catching so and so’s scent then start talking to the person and in the next paragraph mentioning again the person’s scent. In one interaction between 2 or more characters their scents might be brought up multiple times. This happened each time 2 of more people met up. Or when someone shifted to their other form. There was usually a paragraph describing the process such as pain/no pain popping etc.. This info was needed in book 1 but not in this book and not every time someone shifts.

There wasn’t really any conclusion with the mages. Sure they uncovered some things and killed some of them but they never went into the mages terrain and made sure to eliminate them.

I'm sad this series is ending.Throughout the story, I did feel a sense of finality, so I was happy about the next generation spin- off possibility.
I think Ziggy is one of my favorite characters. I loved his excitement over being a father.
I'm a little confused over Mina's dad. I thought he was at one point working with the mages, and now, in this book, he's been working against them the whole time ?

Good storyline but needs more editing

Spoilers included** and slight ranting

Okay so overall this was a good way to wrap up the series. I do LOVE the children being added and the uniqueness of them and enjoy most of the storyline but there needs to be more editing done. There are frequent typos and grammar errors. As well as that, sometimes the character POV gets messed up for a paragraph. The amount of times “taste the salt on her/his skin” is said got to be ridiculous and overdone. Things are constantly repeated and describing each persons scent constantly was redundant too. I even highlighted three times in the last book when they described Mina’s hair as “copper” which makes no sense when it’s supposed to be green for example. Also HATE that the familiars were just forgotten and excluded in this book.

The world building could be expanded and defined more as well. That should have been done in the first book though. The glossary only explains and details a few types of dragons and then suddenly in this book there were a whole bunch of new ones mentioned like copper, steel, brass, and purple dragons (just kept adding types of metal ones lol). Not to mention when describing the groups of dragons gathered “emerald” is included despite them supposedly having no more green dragons on that continent. These little details go a long way to being more submersed into the fantasy world. Zodiac academy is a great example of when it’s done right, even though there’s countless species they never make errors.

My main issues for this last book:
- Iris was never mentioned or seen again. Like her guarding the cursed eggs was cute but now there are real eggs and she should have been there. I love when there’s animal sidekicks so I noticed her missing as well as Abraxis’ raven. They were just excluded.

- In earlier books they say a bunch about Mina’s mom being the “last iron dragon” and now suddenly there’s more from her flight all along that Mina knew existed (just didn’t know she was related to)

- Mina’s sister is never mentioned again after she visited her at the end of the last book. Having her come join her flight would have been a sweet reunion and included more basilisks around.

- For a large portion of the book they’re concerned that there’s no one older than 150 years old and trying to solve why.. then one conversation they finally ask Mina how old her dad is and she casually goes “200 but he hid it from the council”. Again these type of plot holes just get annoying. Why wouldn’t she have mentioned it earlier if she knew he was older than everyone. And if the mountain is supposedly why the mages never found him then wouldn’t there have been other older dragons in that flight besides her dad too ?

- Vaughn as a mate was barely included this book and honestly doesn’t make much sense in the overall storyline now. At least the others were all friends + the ancients but then just a random gargoyle who she barely knows is added.

- The entire plan to get the mages to “find them” at the gem dragon flight plan was dumb and rushed. First of all, they really brought one of the children? Also Klauth goes into a murderous rage when he realizes “gem dragon nests are built on quartz lines” so they mages shouldn’t have found them there? Again.. wouldn’t they have known that before going there? And it’s never said if his rage was killing every innocent gem female and child too. Then they really have Mina leave instead of fight when that was the whole reason she was there. They acted surprised by how many mages showed up but should have anticipated that. The entire thing just again felt like it was rushed to wrap the story up and became anticlimactic. Like were expected to believe it really took them 2 days to kill less than 18 of them (considering some went for Mina). And Mina say they found her because of her hair coloring and yet at no point did they ever see her so again a plot hole.

- The ancients make a “realization” that Mina is so special because she was a triplet. They explain it to the other mates while she’s unconscious and then it’s never mentioned again and they never tell her, at least it’s not written so what was the point of that even being included then.

- While I think a next gen series will be interesting and is pretty common now, I wish we’d at least gotten the names of the other new kids and not ended it with the clear set up for Raven. Her even being named Raven is just suddenly said and seemed out of nowhere when they hadn’t mentioned names of the others. Makes me wonder if the next gen will have her siblings stories too or just focus on her which I’d hate because there’s 6 other kids too.

Queen of the Cursed Egg is Year 4 in the Dragonis Academy by Serenity Rayne. And while I am sad that this is the bittersweet goodbye to the series, I am not sorry that we got to read this amazing series. Serenity Rayne outdid herself with this series I just wish it could have gone on forever. But, it will live on forever in my heart and every time I re-read it.

I have to start by saying that this entire series was simply divine. Queen of the Cursed Egg was touching and sentimental. I LOVED and ADORED the way that this book ended, it was the perfect ending for not only the book but also the series. Now, I can't wait to get my hands on the holiday novella and I am so looking forward to the next generation series. All of these characters were just so stunning, they were well developed, had all the room they needed to grow and develop throughout the series, and they were given grand character arcs that where perfectly fitting to each of their characters.

Queen of the Cursed Egg picks up right where we left off at the end of Year 3. Mina and all her guys have all become closer and they have been strengthening their bonds. And holy moly, people, we have baby dragons! I just fell in love with those babies.

We also get to see Mina's father resolute in his decisions, there are found families bonding together, and mysteries are solved regarding the mages.

We are also graced with seeing dragon kind finding a way to move past all the horrific traditions that have been holding them in its grasp, and this move allows all dragon kind to move forward toward a bright future. And it's a bright future that includes all species and we see Mina together with her mates leading the way for this change to happen. This book is honestly a roller coaster of emotions and I felt each and every one of them.

Now, I can't wait to see what Mina's progeny will get up too in this new world that Mina and her mates have left for the future generations.

If you haven't already started this series then I don't know what you've been waiting for. Now that the series is finish, all I can say is go back to book 1 and get started in your reading journey. I can promise you that you're going to be hooked on this series just like I was and you're going to love it just as much as I did.

See my previous reviews. This book, while still flawed, was much better than the first few books. I loved the storyline.

However, it was still filled with many inconsistencies, but they were smaller this time and easier to ignore.

One thing I’ve really started to notice is that this author seems to have some ingrained misogyny that comes through in her writing. In the story, Mina and her guys are all supposedly about female rights and equality. Yet whenever something goes wrong in the nest, it’s always blamed on the FMC “not submitting” well enough to her guys. The solution is Mina prostrating herself before them—and magically, that fixes everything. I can hardly stand it.

If she only had to do this for the dominant drake in the nest, that would kinda make sense, I guess.. If she only did it for her mates who are stronger or more dominant than her, I could at least understand it. But she has to constantly prostrate herself in front of every single one of her mates—even the ones who are prey. I don’t like it. It feels like she's making herself lesser compared to them. The idea that all their problems can be solved by her offering ultimate submission is genuinely disgusting.

What an ending....

This conclusion is exactly what Mina and her guys needed and deserved. We see Queen Of the Cursed Egg begin just as Year 3/ 3.5 concludes. Mina and her mates continue to be tested as her father still hasn't been eliminated yet. They also realise it's not just her father that they have to worry about and that i think was more concerning for Mina and her mates as it affected their future.

I loved that we got to see how powerful Mina truly is. Yes, i knew she was powerful, but she is something else entirely and just so graceful about the power she wields. She doesn't need to flex her power, but she will if she has to.

It was beautiful to see her relationships between all her mates. They are all so close, and even though there are some tense and vulnerable moments, they are so united no matter what. Mina deserves that after all she has endured. Serenity did an amazing job at bringing all the loose ends to a close and ended the series on such a wonderful note.

I'm so sad to see Mina and her mates story come to a close, but I am hoping to see them in the future even to just pop up and say hi 😊

Read this series!!! It's so good. Oh, and also, Balor and Ziggy have got to be my favourites for sure. Love them all, but they are amazing!!!

Thank you so much, Serenity and Meg, for the opportunity to read this series. I am forever grateful 🙏

This book was quite the adventure! I’m glad we got away from the academy more and focused on the growing family. That said, I felt like the ending was a bit rushed and left slightly opened. I know we get a Christmas novella, and the second generation starts next year, so maybe I’m just sad to say goodbye.
So Mina started the family she saw in an earlier vision, just not exactly as she saw. I’m wondering if her and Balor ever have that little dragon she saw, what about the other mates? Do they get their own offspring too? What was the name of the mixed dragon Mina somehow created with her two dragon mates and Balor? So many family questions left!
How did the final years of school go for her youngest mate? Did Mina like the teaching job she took at the end, very last minute? Definitely not the plan I think she ever saw for herself.
I really enjoyed this book and wish the series didn’t end! It was great to see the family working so well together, communicating with each other, and making sure they were making Mina feel safe and protected so that her dragon could stop trying to control everything. It was interesting to see Mina accept being protected and accept that her mates could do things while she stayed safe. It was also weird that Mina didn’t have any visions this book, almost like that part of Mina was being ignored or forgotten. Hopefully the Christmas novella helps with these questions and answers!
I do really recommend reading this series! It’s an adventure from start to finish that has a lot of moving parts and a lot of different perspectives.

I'm going to start with some things that bothered me, but not enough for me to rate lower.
1. It felt like the two big battles against the enemies in the story as a whole were anti-climatic
2. What is it about scent? I swear, we hear about how someone smells almost every other page.
3. This is listed as an academy, but honestly the school takes a huge backseat to the rest of the story. Feels a little misleading if you're really into academy stories.
4. Vaughn and Callan really weren't necessary for the story. We didn't get much of their views nor did they have children in the storyline. Just felt like they either shouldn't be in the story or there needed to be more on their character development and how they intertwine in the nest.

Besides what I listed above, I really enjoyed this series. I loved Mina's progression from this untouchable female bada$$, to allowing herself to be vulnerable with her mates, to finding a balance between her two halves. She was a fierce warrior and mother but was more open and honest in her thoughts and feelings. I'm glad Abraxis came around because he sounded like a petulant child sometimes but I also understood his perspective. Naming a favorite is hard because there were likeable qualities with all of the MMC, but Ziggy and Thaulgor were my favorites. Ziggy has this playful lightness about him that draws me in, while Thaulgor is protective and moody but in a sweet way. I look forward to the novella that comes next.

This is the final book in the Dragonis Academy series, and it was incredible. I loved that the story focused more on Mina's new family and them moving forward than the school stuff. Mina has really grown into herself. She's still fierce, but she's opened up more. She's softer and is okay with handing over the reins to her mates sometimes. All the guys are fantastic, but the spotlight really shone on Ziggy. He was so adorable, I couldn't help but smile. Thauglor was nothing to shake your head at. He absolutely melted for his mate. I loved how sweet, caring, and attentive he was to Mina.

Serenity introduces more dragon culture, and it was freakishly fascinating. I mean, things were explained that I hadn’t even begun to think about. We finally get answers about why things changed so much from Klauth and Thauglor's time. As for the plot, it was amazing. Obviously, Mina's father was going to be a plot point. Still, I didn’t expect a bigger problem on the horizon. Talk about a plot twist! Completely unexpected. From there, the story only gets better with even more surprises.

Queen of the Cursed Egg was amazeballs! I honestly didn't know if it would end in an HEA, but it did! The perfect ending to the series. I would say I'm going to miss this world, but Serenity isn't done yet, and I, for one, can't wait for the second generation.

This whole series was simply amazing. This book was bittersweet. I LOVED the book and the ending, however, I am very sorry for it to end. I'm definitely looking forward to the holiday novella and the next generation series. These characters just wormed their way into my heart and brain. Bravo Serenity Rayne!

Ok, Book 4, picks up right where book 3 leaves off. Mina and all her guys become closer, stronger, and more deeply bonded. THERE ARE BABY DRAGONS people. We see resolution for her dad, found family, mysteries solved about the mages, and dragon kind moving past horrific traditions and a brighter future. This brighter future involves all species and Mina and her mates are leading the charge for this change. This book made me feel all the emotions.

I was gifted an ARC from Literary Inspired, however, this whole series has been an automatic pre-order for me and I look forward to re-reading this series for many years since it's part of my library.

Now, off to imagine what Mina's progeny will get up to!

What a fantastic ending and nod to the future

I really enjoyed getting to see Mina and her family evolve and grow. The way she created her own nest and promised the future to be much better for everyone was fantastic. This story really focused on the here and now with her strengthening her family, having her babies, and making sure that the world they grew up in would be better than the one she did.

I really loved seeing all of the mates find their place in the nest as well as solidifying all of her bonds in the best way possible. Plus seeing as they all became fathers to their children was absolutely beautiful. I'm so excited for the future and seeing the next generation come into their own.

Discovering how deep the corruption went among the dragons and those fighting against them was really unique and interesting to watch unfold. I definitely didn't expect some of the revelations that came out in the story and I really enjoy that unexpected factor. There were a lot of interesting, frustrating, and anger inducing discoveries in this story.

This was a beautiful end to Mina's main story. I'm super excited for the last novella and even more excited to see how all if their children grow and change in the future.

This book took me a little bit longer to read them the other ones not because it was boring or uninterested. I just had a lot more going on while reading it than I did with the other ones in the series.

I absolutely loved this book. I absolutely loved this series. It was unlike anything I’ve ever read before and I found it very intriguing. I like how it was so different from anything I’ve read before.

I also liked how we got the cursed dragons point of views in the Novelas. I will say they got a little repetitive since some of the same events happened in the story as well as theirs

I also wanna know if we’re ever gonna see anything about shadow dragons. Seeing as we didn’t get anything in the glossary about them.

The only thing I will say that I don’t believe was tied up in the series, was the people working with her father at the school the other teachers. So I wonder if we’ll see part of that in the next series

And I also know the author already said that we’ll meet Raven‘s siblings as well as their mates when we get her story so that’s pretty cool. I can’t wait for the book that comes out next month to wrap this up even more.

Overall, I just really enjoyed the series

Queen of the Cursed Egg is the sixth book in the Dragonis Academy Series. It is a paranormal, fantasy, fated mates, found family, why choose romance with shifters, magic, and more. It is told in first person, multiple POV.

I have been addicted to this series in such a huge way and was so happy to see Mina and her mates get their HEA. I loved seeing all the secrets, lies, and betrayals come to light and the "bad guys" get what they deserve. I loved the strength that Mina possesses, both physically and mentally. I also loved how protective her mates were, despite her strength. The relationships between Mina and her men were terrific. I honestly could not get enough of this book or series and am very excited at the prospect of a spin-off.

The characters, plot, pace, and flow of the story were all amazing, as were the character development, relationship development, storytelling, storyline, and world building. This was a terrific series that I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves fantasy, dragon shifters, and an epic story.

Serenity has knocked this one out of the park. What an Amazing conclusion to an Epic story. Mina and her mates have gone through so much throughout this series. Betrayals, Deception, Assassination attempts you name it, but they prevailed because Mina is the G.O.A.T a true Baddie. I love how the author portrayed the complexities of having a large harem as well as the personal issues each of her mates experienced one this journey but more importantly how they came together as a real family vanquishing each other's demons both physically and metaphorically.

This deserved every minute of their well fought for HEA.

The icing on the cake was Mina finally, FINALLY laying her eggs and ended up with quite a clutch (5 girls and 2 boys). I can't wait for the next generation. If Thauglor's mini crash out at the end of this series is what to be expected; then it's safe to say we are in for a treat because I can already see these Girl Dads crashing out completely when it's time for their little girls to find mates. This is going to be HILARIOUS, and I am here for it.

Anticlimactic and dragged on

This series of books has a unique storyline and has great potential. Personally for me, it didn't live up to it. In an effort to be badass and bloodthirsty, we end up with both a society and and even main characters who don't value life while trying to paint the FMC as perfect mother and dragoness. Basically we then get a heroine who will decapitate someone for making sexist comments without any thought. Others might enjoy this but for me, it makes the characters unlikeable.
To be honest, I was struggling to read this series with it's inconsistencies in the first 3 books, but at least with those books, they each had an event they were leading to. With book 4, early on in the book the FMC faces the big bad and it's actually anticlimactic. The same can be said for the show down with the mages ... It was basically nothing and told us nothing. This book just dragged for the 2nd half so bad I struggled to finish.
I will not be reading the next series of books based on the daughter.

After binging all of the previous books and novellas in the series over the last 24 hours, I can't believe I finally got the last story. Mina is gaining in power and status in the wider Dragon community, and she is now on the path to motherhood, something she desperately desires, but it triggers her own shitty childhood memories that display as PTSD at times.

Klauth and Thauglor are a real blessing for Mina. They are the only dragons more powerful than herself, and it helps keep her in check. Abraxis is still struggling from his wounds in the previous book and this is a real sticking point in the story that is addressed a few times over the course of the series. The hatchlings are adorable, and I do love that Mina finally gets her revenge. One little point is that at some point we don't really see anymore off Iris. I do love that little fae dragon, so her not being present for a majority of the story was just a bummer. However, this does have a lot of great emotional moments, some fabulous dragon fights and the HEA that Mina and her men deserve.

One thing I truly loved in this final book in the Dragonis Academy series, is how we see the creation of these characters’ happily ever after. The author created a mix in this last book between battles with remaining adverseries, and the build-up of a better world, letting us really experience how that future will look like. What most authors write about in the epilogue, this autor intertwined with the entire final book (and even a bit of the one before that), and I really enjoyed that. For once, the final book in a series is actually my favorite one!

There is honestly so much happening in this final book, with battles, changes to their world, new characters, bonding, … And still, the end to the storyline of this first generation leaves me with an intensely satisfied feeling. And a desire to see what the second generation will bring. With this many protective fathers, the girls will have their work cut out for them! I’m definitely looking forward to see what their story will bring.

This was a great and satisfying ending to Mina's and her mates' story! I am going to miss all of them, really enjoyed their journey and the whole world building as a whole. Already looking forward to the next generation's story and the next novella! It feels like all the most important events and questions were wrapped up leaving enough open for the next series following the children. Mina finally got her peace after dealing with her father, most threats and is taking her place as queen of the her continent. Easily recommend this series for anyone loving shifters, dragons, academy, strong characters and a complete series!

Honestly can say that Thauglor and Ziggy are my two favourite love interests of Mina's. I just love how sweet Thauglor is during the romantic moments, totally won my heart. Ziggy is just the best stay at home dad for the nest and is just a ball of sunshine personified. Loved all the relationship developments, the bonding and the spicy scenes along the way!

Mina's story is finally at the end and I'm not sure how to feel about that. Im happy with how everything worked out. But, yet, so sad that its over and there's not going to be more Mina. As sad as I am, this book was absolutely perfect!! I love everything they accomplished as well as how it was done!!

One of my favorite parts was Mina doing away with the archaic traditions on how they treated females and non dragon mates. Girl power for the win!!! I will always be for dismantling of the patriarchy and misogynistic ways!!

While there are many things I can talk about, I wont. I dont want to give half the story away. Compared to all the rest of the books in this series, this one is definitely my favorite. Not only with all the plot lines finally being tied up but with the happy endings as well. I love seeing everyone so happy and satisfied. One of my new favorite authors and series!

Mina is in year 4 at the Dragonis Academy. She has found love and security with all her mates but longs for a clutch of her own, although she knows her father will want to steal her eggs for his own army. Abaddon’s spies are everywhere, and the elders and mages are threats as well. Can Mina’s family and children survive them all?

I really hope to see a book about Klauth & Thuglor’s side of the mage battle! This book was intense and hard to put down with all the action and swarming enemies. Mina finally gets to prove to herself she is more than what her father made her, and it was emotional to read. Love that Mina is destroying the horrific old traditions and prejudices for change for a brighter future for all her children and the continent as queen.

Can’t wait for stories of the next generation.

Thank you for allowing me to be an ARC reader.

what an ending

What an ending. So so so so much happens in this book. I smiled, giggled, swooned, got mad and cheered throughout it. I just really enjoyed this universe much. This take on shifters and everything else just had me hooked. The amount of growth and things the characters have all gone through is wild. Don’t get me wrong they still mess up and things to learn but they’ve come so far. I can’t help but smile at that. With this group of characters you can feel that they genuinely want the world to be a better place. Granted somewhat for slightly selfish reason, but mostly just to improve life for dragons and even the other species. I felt very satisfied when I finished this book. And really that’s one of the best feelings to me, especially when it comes to completing a series. Really solid read for me.

This book was just absolutely perfect. I’ve loved this series since the first book was released all those months ago and I can honestly say at this point that it is very rare that I feel a sense of completion when I finish a series, normally I’m left wanting more, but this book has left me feeling like everything has been tied up and finished really well. I loved the story, all the revelations in this book kept me on my toes and I enjoyed reading this story to completion. I’m looking forward to the novella coming out in December and I’m super curious as to watch gen 2 will bring to this world. I would highly recommend giving this book a read, and also check out Serenity Raynes other works, you won’t be disappointed.

This series!!!

I loved it from start to finish. Mina is such a bad*ss character and I love how strong she is throughout the entire series. The relationships with her mates are complex and real and I loved the realistic portrayal of Abraxis’s jealousy even if it made me angry.

I do wish we could have had a deeper look in the action at the end, with the ancients handling the mages and the chapters not in their POV, there wasn’t as much action as there could have been. I also thought the very repetitive description of Mina’s scent was a bit much and distracting once I realized how often it was described.

Those minor differences don’t take away from the fact that I loved this series and couldn’t wait for the release date for each one!

This is the sixth book in the Dragonis Academy. And I can honestly say that the books keep getting better! There is one more book to be released and I can’t wait! Once it’s released I will binge read the entire series!
This book is amazing! I was so captivated that I tried to pull an all-nighter but my husband vetoed that idea… The story was incredible, the characters were hot and the smex was ghost pepper spicy!! Why can’t dragons be real?!! Okay, not just the dragons! This collection of book boyfriends you do not want to miss.
Thank you, Serenity Rayne, for another beautiful installment in this series! I need to place this series on my Christmas list. If I’m a good girl, maybe Santa will bring it to me for Christmas!!

This series has gotten me out of so many slumps and has put me into a slump because it is THAT good!! I am so sad to see the main series completed but I am so happy how she ended this part of their journey. I can't wait until the next book drops (Christmas novella) and anything else she decides to do. This will forever be my roman empire! Nothing can change my mind. I think about these characters all the time. I have an insane obsession with them and I have no regrets. I couldn't stop cheesing the entire time I read this (I was that happy)!

If you haven't picked up this book series yet, what are you waiting for? You won't be disappointed, it has EVERYTHING that is needed for the most amazing adventures and more!

I highly recommend this book and the author. Definitely a must read!

I love this series so much, it's probably my favourite 'Dragon' people series.
Mina is such a baddie and she strategically plans the downfall of villains but does it so, she is not liable and also not premeditated.
Having finally dispatched her psychotic father and the evil mages, Mina and her nest are almost free.
I love the stories of the hatchlings and how the mates are obsessed with each of those babies.
I can't wait for the final novella to close out this chapter ready for the 2nd generation next year.
This series has been a quick release in 2025 and it gave me a little bit of excitement with each release. The first book I added to my TBR and it took me 2 months to read it but once I did, I was hooked.
I have loved following Mina's story.

I absolutely loved this series, although I did feel this final book wasn't as polished as the ones that came before. I did my best to try to overlook the unnecessarily repeated descriptions, and missing characters, like Iris, from previous books. I can understand the desire to keep this series on schedule, but I'd have happily waited longer to avoid those issues.

Despite all that, this is still one of my favourite dragon series to date. I love the combination of romance, drama and spice, and while Nina is generally a bad-ass, it was good to see her vulnerable side a bit more, as well as her compassion.

I received an ARC of this ebook from Literary Inspired, and I'm voluntarily leaving this review.

3/5 ⭐️

I guess consistency went down the drain.
My least favorite book of the series.
I feel like the plot went out to buy milk and never came back.
Mina ended up with 8 mates, one *cough* Abraxis should've been taken out of the equation… he was book boyfriend perfect in the first book and then his character arc disintegrated into dust.
Mina somehow managed to birth two clutches? I don’t know if that's spelling it right. 5 girls, 2 boys most of them taking after their father and one of the girls, Raven, is getting her own spinoff series which sadly I won't be reading.
This book was very repetitive and a bit all over the place.
I expected more with all the events that were leading up to the finale.

Serenity gives us the epic finale of the Dragonis Academy series! Mina's story with her nest of eight mates begins with the start of year 4 of which she is the only survivor. Between gauntlets, school stuff, her dad being Klauth's queen, and her heats resulting in her first eggs, they must survive mage attacks and issues within the nest. To find out how they survive and get to their hard won HEA dive into this wonderfully written book with complex characters and plot twists that keep you guessing and turning pages throughout. I loved reading this story and highly recommend the series. I can't wait for the next series of their progeny! Don't miss out on this book!!
