So...while I do like this more than The Highlander's Stolen Heart, particularly because there's way more chemistry between Patience and Hunter than there was between Emma and Rogan...

...ultimately it still only gets three stars in the grand scheme of things.
_____________

Filling in the blanks with Patience's story following Heather's abduction, she's sent by her father to settle a land dispute with the McLauds, of which the youngest brother, Hunter (the womanizer), proposes to Patience as a way to unite their plans and avoid bloodshed. It's this latter reason that convinces Patience into accepting, although she guards both her heart and her body as ruthlessly as only a warrior woman can.

Ahem.

The back-and-forth banter between the two and just how ill-matched they seem...is admittedly just perfect. Patience is the warrior woman in all seriousness, whereas Hunter's a smooth-talking philanderer with a lotta sex on the brain. Together, you'd think they couldn't make it work, and yet somehow they do. It had just enough between them for me to believe in it.

Unfortunately, however, the repetitive writing and continued scenes that just seemed like it was delaying an actual plot, grated on my nerves. I've noticed this in quite a few of Donna Fletcher's works, and am starting to think that outside of the Cree and Dawn series that I absolutely loved, this writer's writing and plotlines just aren't that great. This entire buildup of the Dark Dragon reads very similarly to the buildup of Slayer in the Blood & Honor Trilogy, and even though THIS trilogy was technically written first, it does feel like recycled writing.

*sighs* Anyway, while I DO want to know what the heck happened to Heather and learn more about what I'm assuming will be her romance with the Dark Dragon, I'm crossing my fingers that the author will just give it up with repeating scenes and exact dialogue over and over again, as it does take away significantly from the overall story--and thus, my rating.

I loved Hunter McLaud, I think he has to be my new book boyfriend, he's a charming rogue who has a different woman just about every night of the week, but he also had a very caring and loving heart. And Patience Macinnes was like a warrior princess, in charge of army of warriors, determined to find the Dark Dragon, an evil and dangerous
warrior thought to be responsible for kidnapping her sister Heather.

She is asked to go north by her father to settle a land dispute between the Macinnes and the McLaud. When she arrives Hunter McLaud suggest marriage between them would be the best solution to unite the clans. Patience is not too happy with about it but agrees.

The bickering and banter between the couple is wonderful, but they can't ignore their feelings in the end, and the passion between them can't denied.
This was a great romance full of action and desire. I'm looking forward to Heather's story next.

Gimana caranya? Blum diungkap.

Book 2 does not disappoint.

Hunter is the 3rd son of clan MacLaud and he is known as a ladies man. Patience is the second daughter of the MacInnes clan and she is a warrior. When her father sends her to clan MacLaud to end a dispute she soon realizes that it was a trap. To thwart his brother Greer’s plan to start a clan war, Hunter secretly proposes to Patience to join the two clans. However, that may not be enough, this is an action packed story with betrayal, deception, mystery, abduction, ghost warriors, secrets, and unexpected love. Can’t wait to read the next one.

This one was wonderfully written..
Though few things here and there felt like unnecessary..
But it was good...
Both the leads very different..yet strong and interesting..
Or course a bit of Patience's journey while searching for her sister would have been good..it keeps you guessing..what and how she survived her hunt for Heather..
Still a good read

I enjoyed the second instalment in this series. Patience and Hunter are interesting characters as are the events that surround them. Some questions have been answered but many remain unanswered. The ending is surprising. A good read!

Book 2 in trilogy, though can be read as a stand-alone.

Well written with some mystery, action, evil villains and of course romance. Characters are well developed and the story well paced. Fully engaging readers through the journey of Hunter & Patience’s HEA.

ENTHRALLING SPELLBINDING HIGHLANDER ROMANCE!!

I have a list of authors which I consider my treasures, and this author, Donna Fletcher, is on this list. What this means is that if an author is on this list I auto buy the releases as soon as they become available. They are added to my keeper read and reread shelf. Donna Fletcher is one of the best authors a reader will have the honor of reading, in my opinion. Her past releases includes stand alone titles, duos, and trilogies, of which I have read. Her latest release of Highlander’s Rebellious Love, book 2 of the Macinnes Sister’s Trilogy, following The Highlander’s Stolen Heart, doesn’t in any way disappoint and will join the others on my keeper shelf. The trilogy tells the story of three sisters, Emma, Patience, and Heather, who are very close and entwined with each other’s lives. The first book, The Highlander’s Stolen Heart tells Emma’s story. This release of Highlander’s Rebellious Love tells Patience’s story.

Patience, whose personality is defined by anything other than her name, is a strong minded confident lady who has been trained all her life as a warrior and the future leader of the clan. Instead of possessing skills for cooking, sewing, or running the inside of a keep, she is highly skilled and talented with various weapons and is considered the leader of the clan warriors. Whenever problems or disputes arise among the clan or surrounding clans, it is Patience who travels to resolve the problem. With one sister missing and anxious to find her, marriage and love or interest in the opposite sex is the last thing on her mind, and any problems detracting her search must be handled quickly.

It is while investigating such a dispute between two neighboring clans that Patience meets Hunter, a third son and brother of the evil power hungry, will do anything to turn the tides to his favor, laird of the McLaud clan. The dispute over land stemming from the McLaud clan is very large well planned and possibly could turn into a blood spilling war. Hunter, although a smooth talking, very handsome, hunk of a highlander ladies man, he is still a strong, powerful, and feared highland warrior. Within minutes of their meeting he presents Patience with his solution to the problem between the clans, marriage to this lady warrior. As it is discovered a forced marriage seems the only possible solution, although Patience demands her specific stipulations be met, and not many warriors would be willing to meet her demands.

This book is filled with unexpected hot steamy passion between Patience and Hunter, disagreements, mystery, laughter, tenderness, strength, and eventually trust beyond question. I highly recommend this book and anything else written by Donna Fletcher. This installment can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading The Highlander’s Stolen Heart first as characters and mysteries continue from the first into the second book. This is yet another book that has found a home on my keeper shelf. I can’t wait for Heather’s story and the third book in the trilogy!!!!

This was a good book. I actually found it better than the first book in this trilogy (Highlander's Stolen Heart) but in the end still left me a little bit disappointed. For a totally different reason then the last one.

While book one in this series lacked a really good conflict and the action never seemed to get very far off the ground, THIS book had a LOT of action going on. I was really into! It was exciting! The whole book felt like it was building up to the grand finale and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for it to happen! And then...... it never actually happened.

Rather then get the big blow out I felt like the book was promising me, we got a little tiny puff of dramatic smoke and are left feeling tied up with this tension that will not be resolved until the next book. And that REALLY bothers me! The third book is suppose to be Heather's story, but before it's even out I sit here worried about how a portion of HER book has to be dedicated to finishing her sister's book. I don't look forward to attention getting dragged away from the hero/heroine of book 3 to wrap up loose ends left in book 2.

And yet, that's the ONLY real issue I really had with this book. As I said before, it is action packed! It NEVER slows down for a minute, in a GOOD way. Patience and Hunter are strong characters both as a pair and as individuals. It does well to twist and turn from page to page and not be predictable.

If we had ONLY gotten to see that climax that the book was building up chapter after chapter! That's all I needed to make this a perfect book for me. I am okay with a cliffhanger, but this one is a BIT much.

*Spoilers* Well, well, well. I love love love this book! Barely back from looking for her sister, Patience MaCinnis is thrown into an adventure all of her own. She must travel north to sort out a fued between another clan, the MacLauds and hers. But when she arrives the head of the MacLaud Clan, Greer, is anything but helpful or willing to talk peace. It takes a marriage of duty between Greer's youngest brother Hunter and her to slow down the much wanted war by Greer. Hunter although suggested the marriage has to battle his own growing feelings for his new unwillingly wedded wife. But Patience has to also battle her own growing feelings for her new husband. Patience fully believes she has no time for love or romance yet when her company and herself must split up she finds that Hunter is everything she ever wanted and more. Patience is still totally dedicated to finding her lost sister, Heather, and Hunter understands this (which is why I like him, I can see that he's the coolent to her fire) promising to help find Heather. When they get back home Patience learns that Emma is expecting and is the first to learn it with Hunter and Rogan over-hears it -upon reaching the Great Hall- reacting with a hint of anger (but I got to admit it's sweet).

Full of adventure the second book is AMAZING!!! Read this if you want to know more about the adentures of the 3 Sisters. Love this series!!!

I have read many books by Donna Fletcher and have loved them. In fact I read the first book in this series and loved it. This book - not so much

Part of the problem for me was the H/h, Hunter is a man-ho and Patience is a She-man warrior woman. These are two of my least favorite types.

Another problem was the writing - this was not the Donna Fletcher I am used to. Either she didn't write it or she was experimenting with a new writing style. Whichever it was, I didn't care for it. It seemed juvenile and was littered with inconsistencies.

The final thing that ruined the book for me was the love scenes. First they are circling each other for nearly half the book. The sexual tension went from tantalizing to tedious. When they finally have sex, I just didn't care. And if that wasn't bad enough our heroine turns into a nympho. You couldn't go two pages without one of them being wet or hard - geez! As much as I like a steamy book, this book just did nothing for me.

I had to force myself to finish this book. A first where Ms. Fletcher is concerned. I would not recommend it. Read the first book in the series or any of her other highlander stories and skip this one.

I will read the final book in the series, because I know that Ms. Fletcher can write an awesome book. I will assume that this was just a glitch in an otherwise impressive track record

Great second novel in the Macinnes sister's trilogy. In it you are reintroduced to Patience the middle daughter of the 3 Macinnes girls. She is the warrior of the trio. As good as any man with a blade, she leads the Macinnes soldiers in hopes of one day taking over the reigns for her father as laird. She is still desperately seeking her sister who has been abducted. Now her father has asked her to travel north to settle a dispute for the clan. Little does she know that the trip will change her life for she will return home with a husband.

Hunter McLaud sees only one way to prevent war he must marry Patience in order to unite the two clans, but first he has to convince the lady that it is the only reasonable course of action. While he has always been the carefree younger brother he is actually very shrewd in his actions and decisions. When he sees Patience he knows that they are destined to be together and as they travel back to Patience's home he falls deeply in love with his wife.

I love the interaction between the two. The challenges they face from danger on the way back to Macinnes lands keeps you guessing what will happen next. Definitely a great book and I am looking forward to the final installment in the trilogy.

Highlander's Rebellious Love by Donna Fletcher
Macinnes Sisters Trilogy Book Two
Patience Macinnes is the middle sister and the warrior. She has been searching for her oldest sister Heather who had been abducted. Instead of continuing the search, her father sends her to settle a dispute among a couple of clans. What she hoped to be quick mission, ended up being much more.

Hunter McLaud was the youngest of his brothers and spent his days with the lassies. If there was one thing that he was good at—it was pleasing women. The beautiful woman warrior didn't fall under his spell and into his bed like other women. But he knew she needed him if she were going to stay alive. And the only way to save her...was to marry her.

Patience didn't need a man in her life. She led a group of warriors. She made the orders...not followed them. Patience soon found that much more was at work than the McLauds trying to take land. As if finding Heather and getting her away from the Dark Dragon and his ghost warriors wasn't enough to handle. Great series so far. It all starts in book one; The Highlander's Stolen Bride...Emma's story.

Keeps Getting Better and Better

Patience MacInnes and Hunter McLaud's story was even better than book 1, and I loved book 1. Patience is the Warrior Sister. She is smart and brilliant in the art of clan warfare. Her sister Heather is still missing and the Dark Dragon has held her captive, Patience wants nothing more than to continue her search, but her father needs her to do something else. She is to go uphold the peace and settle a dispute amongst the McLauds and others without war. When she arrives she witnesses a lusty handsome man with a woman from a cottage and her escort informs her he is the youngest of the McLaud brothers, the consummate rogue, who has a different woman every week.

Hunter McLaud is the known handsome rogue. His older brother is a viper and when his brother has a malicious plan...he has one of his own that will involve the skinny woman he sees.

Patience and Hunter will have quite a journey. I loved this story, the suspense, the hot love scenes and the story itself. I still gave it a 5 even though I did find an error about the storyline. I look forward to book 3, it is too bad we have to wait for a whole year.

Patience is one of THE MOST assertive women I've ever come across. She is a true woman warrior. There is a lot of action and even though this is the second in the series it reads well on its own. I say that because I've not read the first one even though I have it. I forgot I was waiting to read one and two until the third of the trio was available. Needless to say I'm now anxious for book three although I'll comfort myself by reading book one while I wait.

Donna Fletcher has never disappointed me. She writes a good story with strong characters. This one had a bit more sexual verbal banter than I could handle. I kept wanting to say "stop talking and get a room".

Sept 2018: Didn't like this one so much this time. I didn't get any sense of romance just hot hormones which fit with the hero's reputation. What didn't fit was his 180 degree turn to being Number Two to Patience.

Macinnes Sisters Trilogy Book 2

What a great story. The love affair and trials and tribulations of Hunter and Patience. I really enjoyed that the did not automatically fall into bed but took time to get to know each other, become friends and realize they had things in common besides attraction and lust and fell in love by respecting each other. There was also danger and suspense. I look forward to the 3rd book of the Trilogy, the story of Heather and her Dark Dragon. Loved the surprise twist at the end.

This book is undeniably better than the first of the trilogy. I love how Patience and Hunter took time to know each other first. This book was not dragged out like the first one, which is always a good thing. And I actually finished reading this in one sitting.

And now I have to wait for 2015 to read the final book in this trilogy. Donna Fletcher is successful in building the tension, the anticipation of reading about the Dark Dragon and his ghost warriors and maybe any interactions between the mysterious Dark Dragon and Heather.

Patience Macinnes has been ordered by her father to go settle a dispute with the Clan McLaud. Hunter McLaud a known ladies’ man offers a solution to the dispute. He asks Patience to marry him to unite their clans. With war looming over them she has agreed to this crazy plan. Neither of them are prepared for the love that follows.

This is book two of the Macinnes sister’s trilory. Donna Fletcher has done it again with another great book. Read this one in two days and loved it. Check out this series. It’s a great adventure with highlanders.

Patient's story

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this second book in the series of the Macinnes Sisters Trilogy! While Patient's personality is totally different from her sisters, it is filled with stubborn hardheadedness as well as humor and great skills. Set in Scotland, this romance travels throughout the countryside with its well described, and researched beauty. The characters are all very well developed and revealed. I would have no qualms what so ever suggesting this book series to friends.
