This one was a bit of a miss. The first half of the novel was spent on the Gem Mage arc and it was kinda, sorta bordering on boring. It was longer than it should've been as far as I was concerned and took away from the actual plot. That being said, the second half all but made up for it!
Ooooh what did I just read..?! 😭 The plot is absolutely ploting..!! I never ever expected or think of possibilities for such a parts here.. Well to be honest the first part was kinda confusing with the gem mage side and the spirits but I also liked how we got a detailed explanation for the spirits core and their line and whole story in the riddle kingdom.. _This vol started with the backstory of bathouloomus(I don't know how to write his name) and that what I like most in this serie.. How every side character got her right writing.. _then it went through the top of battle with all those secrets of spirits and and magical items and best of all.. The seven sages interaction, and I'm so glad we got a chance to see them all illustrated and see their powers.. And I believe that most of us already put carla as his fav>> _the second part returns to the academy students and a lot of things happened and took us far away.. _personally I'm impressed by bridget role in this vol cuz I already got a wrong impression on her specially the detective matter .. _the last part shocked me or could I say hit me so hard..? 💔 It was about felix and all that suspection.. Damn this boy have a lot of secrets and I want to know them all.. 😫 _the cute part is that Elliott is already shipping monica and cyril.. 💙😭 I do wish them to end up together.. Can't wait for vol 8's translation..
This book started with the backstory of Bartholomeus Baal, along with an explanation of the Ice Spirit’s origins. While the background was a bit interesting but Baal’s presence became minimal afterward. This leaves me wondering whether the author plans to expand on his role in future volumes or will end just like that.
The main highlight of this volume is undoubtedly the battle scenes involving the Seven Sages. Can't imagine how impressive these scenes would look if adapted into an anime.
Carla quickly became my favorite character, but unfortunately, she was given very little story time. Her appearance at fighting scene was brief.
One of the most engaging moments occurs after the mission concludes, when Monica returns to her room and encounters an unexpected individual who later joins her secret mission. This twist was genuinely surprising and created a sense of tension that kept me nervously turning the pages.
By the final chapter, readers can likely piece together what truly happened to Felix ten years ago. I am eagerly waiting for the English translation of the next volume and sincerely hope it will not take too long to be published.

It's a great continuation to the story. A good part takes place in the forest where the current battle is taking place. Good news, we get to see everything come to an end. Bad news, the rest of the book does not make the story move forward that much.
I'm still surprised this is the seventh book and still only a few months have taken place in the story. I am looking forward to the moment Monica's identity is revealed.
By this point the reader is able to predict the unraveling of the mystery surrounding Prince Felix. That does not make it any less sweet. I'm looking forward o Monica's interactions with him after her little adventure at Duke Clockford's state.
There is very little Nero in this book but we get to see him wake up near the end.
Enjoyed this a lot more than I expected? It's still painfully too YA for me but there are only a few school-related scenes since half the novel is an all-Sage showdown and you get to see all kinds of magic and skillsets. Felix is largely absent as well since we've more or less seen enough pieces of his character. There are a lot of callbacks to characters and storylines from the previous more slice-of-life books so it feels like things are really coming together and moving forward. Bridget's backstory and motivations are worth the wait, she's a terrific and singularly goal-oriented character and she has the intelligence and competence to handle Felix and reinforce her schemes.

I honestly thought the ice spirit was gonna die. I was sobbing the whole time - turning every page with a mix of anticipation and dread of what's gonna happen next. I'm so thankful that Monica was able to find a way to save him!
Also, to hell with the Gem Mage! I understand the political implications of condemning him, but I hope he gets the karma he deserves for abusing the nature spirits.
Also, the revelations by the end, oh my god??? I feel so bad for Bridget!
I'm so excited for what this series has in store!

I liked it, but I loved the rest of the books. I just felt that with the other books I just couldn't stop reading. But with that ending something tells me I will not be able to put down the next volume so I cannot wait !!!
Honestly liked learning more about the other mages through the first half of the book, but there are now so many characters both inside and outside of the school I forget who was and wasn't introduced and what their purpose is.
The Gem Mage conflict felt a little too drawn out, but it was cool to see more of the sages interacting (they are a weird bunch indeed, haha). Hopefully the next volume doesn't take too long to localize ;o;
