After a sublime spring, the Yamagami decides it’s time for a change and brings an early summer to the garden of gods. But as Minato and his neighbors relax in the sunshine, an important kami drops idly by―bearing gifts, of course! The Yamagami is excited to return to his normal size, and the days continue as normal, filled with lucky raffle drawings and endless amounts of noise and commotion. Eventually, even the Yamagami’s rival―Tenko, kami of the Inari Shrine next door―shows up on their doorstep!
My reviews are my own. If you liked this book, I’m glad you enjoyed it. If not, I respect your opinion. This is merely my opinion, so let's keep it courteous. My review is honest and voluntary.
This continues to be a fun read. I did not like that the MC is a whimp and didn't kick the Fox out. They disrespected the Yamagami, and it's house, so not sure I liked him just watching and doing nothing. Same when the crazy man came and harassed him for a scale. I don't understand the doormat behaviour of many of the light novel/manga/anime characters. Anyway, the rest of the story is entertaining and a great, relaxing read. The anime was announced, too, so I'm looking forward to that!
Finally got to enjoy this, after the madness of the holiday month. As usual a nice, leisurely slice-of-life to serves a a nice palate cleanser. An auspicious start to my 2026 reading adventure.
