Rate this book
The next stop in Dokja’s journey is Chungmuro, where the scale of the scenario is far greater than anything his group has faced so far. Making matters worse, the whole place is controlled by the predatory Landlord Coalition that makes the thugs in Geumho station look like a joke. Between the various opposing factions and daily monster attacks, the station is one enormous powder keg, and Dokja holds the torch! But while he is preoccupied with this complex chess board, another key player is nowhere to be seen. With Junghyeok’s disappearance, Dokja is forced to consider a chilling question—if the main character of this universe dies, what happens to the rest of the world?

look orv is the best novel ever written but go read the fan translation what in the hell is "companions who went through hell separately". this translation is NOT it last volume they had crucial typos including the numbers of the train cars and they continue to bungle this translation so bad. it's 2025 and we're still screwing with name order, not including honorifics, and changing words like dokkaebi? on top of poor translation issues? for one of the biggest webnovels/webtoons on the market? come on now

EDIT TO ADD i forgot to mention the fact that for a novel over 1 million words, they're publishing it in ~250 page increments....... which is such an obvious cash grab, considering LOTM is getting ~600 pages each volume and SS is publishing LCF at ~400 pages each volume..........

Not as solid as the first volume, but the last 30% or so was pretty fire. 🔥 Gilyeong is an awesome character, and I love how his abilities were showcased in this one.
Dokja is still a decent protagonist, borderline infuriating at times but not unbearably so.

Some of the prose and dialogue was pretty stilted and awkward, more so than the first volume. I’m not sure if that was a translation issue or not.

The story as a whole gives me Dungeon Crawler Carl meets Alice in Borderland, but lighter than both. Not a literary masterpiece by any means, but I’m still solidly entertained.

4.5⭐️ It’s a solid continuation, with more action and new characters to keep things moving. I’ve been enjoying it so far, but the chapters are surprisingly short for such a chunky story. I’m not sure I’ll keep collecting the physical editions, even though the covers are beautiful. Yen Press did a much better job with the LOTM volumes in terms of page count and value.

“I am Junghyeok Yu” is diabolical work, Dokja. But then again, Dokja’s outburst when Junghyeok was losing himself made me think Dokja and Junghyeok are a lot more alike than I thought. I actually got emotional during that scene because it’s clear Dokja sees himself in Junghyeok, and was reminded of the misfortunes in his own life. Both characters are haunted by their pasts and are weak-minded on the inside, even if they appear strong on the outside. I think they will develop an interesting relationship, and the way Jihye interpreted Dokja’s outburst added comedic effect to a very emotional scene. singNsong managed to distract from the emotional implications behind Dokja’s attachment to the novel and its main character. It’s crazy how this novel can be hilarious and incredibly sad at the same time. That’s just good story-telling, I guess. I didn’t finish the Webtoon but reading it helped me visualize what was going on. My main priority has always been to read the original novel version of this story but it may not be bad to catch up to the Webtoon sometime. Loved this and can’t wait for the next one!

This continues to be one of my favorite series of all time. Every single moment is so action packed and interesting. The action is great but also you have to think so much about what Dokja is actually up to and what his goals are because he knows how everything is going to go. However he has to consider that the more he interferes with the original plot the harder it will be for him to control the narrative. It’s also so interesting to see how Dokja views himself compared to how others view him. Truly there is just so much great about this series. I can’t wait for book 3.

Kindle edition

F*ck. Alright, I stop the novel translation at this one. I tried. Still don't like the format and I couldn't remember who is who. I was hoping the manwha would've had a kindle edition by now but nope. It was like reading a word document with the pictures missing. The only thing this one did was make me buy the manwha in paperback. I will find space for them somewhere. First volume arrives tomorrow.

read the whole thing as the webnovel online, so i cant say much to the single volume or the translation.. but ORV as a whole is a great story, packing great story telling, emotions and action!
(tho changing the word 'Dokkaebi' in the physical release is kinda dumb..)

Review Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

I love this story so much! I must say that the translation is a bit clunky at times and I think it could be better given that there is a great fan translation and comic already.

I love the landlord arc, it expands the world and lot more as we are introduced to more important characters from TWSA and we get more interesting stages. I’m excited for the Chungmuro capture the flag arc. I love how much more interesting the challenges are becoming and I cannot get over how imaginative SingNsong are and how much forethought they have in this story. I love this story and I hope they publish bigger volumes in the future since I don’t think these short volumes do justice to the story.

Since it affects my experience with the novel, just gonna start by saying that I’m an ORV fan already.

vol2 picks up right where vol 1 left off. It’s immediately better since you already have an idea of the world and characters so it just feels more fast paced.

Since you’ve already met most of the characters, this volume was able to touch on characters’ histories and different facets of their personalities a LITTLE bit more.

I purchased the Kindle version and it wasn't pleasant reading at all... not because of the content (the story is superb as always!), but because there are too many typos it makes my eyes twitch—feels like it's published without any beta reader. Ize Press please be more conscientious in your digital publications.

A wonderful continuation of the novel, with unfortunately more typos than the previous volume. I'm hoping they fix that in volume 3, since I'm so happy to have an official translation, even with Yen Press' bizarre westernization nonsense about removing the honorifics. The story continues to be wonderful and funny, and I still love all the cast. It's fun to reread.

Finally found the yaoi! I'm genuinely enjoying this story so far —my only complaint is that it would be nice if the books had footnotes or back-of-the-book notes or something, because I know nothing about Korean culture and a good chunk of this book kept bringing up a name I didn't understand at all, which the author only bothered to elaborate on near the very end...

Picks up with the action almost immediately - and I feel like this volume showcases Gilyeong a bit more and he's so cute. I am a bit concerned by the length of the volumes - I wish they had more in each volume as I managed to read this is one day when I was on the cruise.
