Winter: Reflections by Snowlight

Rate this book
Jamie K. Reaser’s newest collection of poetry is a celebration of simplicity. Written during winter snow storms, the poems explore the essence of the season and what it is to have the routines of modernity stripped away when the power goes out. In this simplicity reside the profound truths that Nature and human nature have to offer those who have the courage to sit still and get quiet enough to listen. Place your chair in front of a warm fire and take Reflections by Snowlight into your hands.

The poems in this book touched me deeply. They were profoundly beautiful and wise and very accessible. I loved every one. I started reading a poem, I would start to cry, I read to the end, and then I dried my eyes. I repeated this over and over until the book was finished. I used to read a lot of poetry in college, but I don't read it much anymore - hardly at all, really. Maybe I should seek it out if there is work like this out there to be discovered. This collection has piqued and renewed my desire for more soul-soaring poetry like this. This book was simply wonderful: wise, deep, quiet, dignified, profound and beautiful.

FYI: This book is available for Kindle Unlimited subscribers to borrow for free :) I highly recommend taking the journey!

I stay up past my bedtime to read and re-read these poems. I read lines to my husband. I wrote names of people on the pages I want to share with them. This is my first book by Jamie K. Reaser but surely not my last.
