Vowing not to let Celeste get away with her man that easily, she, too, heads to Atlanta. But just on her heels is Ishmael Wright, ready to save the day and to warn his best friend Rah-Lo about his vengeful wife. Though Ishmael also has something else up his sleeve.

Asia and little Brian. As it turns out Brian ain't so little... his nasty behind. Smdh.

The story was twisted and then some!! There's a little bit of every thing... Backstabbing two timing gossiping jealous people. And let's not forget misunderstandings This was truly a twisted tale.

Omg what a story!!! A twisted one indeed. I’m glad Celeste got her happy ending but I was rooting for Bryson. I hate that Ish had to meet his demise… Nina was crazy and should’ve taken the L and moved on. That was the saddest part of the story. I hate that Ra-Lo got a happy ending. I think Celeste is too good for him and deserved better but I guess the heart wants what the heart wants. As usual Nicole Small made the audiobook very entertaining. I found myself hearing Ethic, Ahmeek and Alani… maybe I’m just forever stuck in Ethicland 😅

The drama! Whew chileee. Even though Celeste got her “happy ever after” I just really feel like she effed up for a min by even entertaining her old life. She shouldn’t have let Ish come. That was crossing the lines from jump. The homie?? Ish knew better. He was living a messy life and I hate it had to be him bc of it. Smh Tracy sure know how to write some drama. Love it

Tracy Brown is hands down the best female urban fiction author. Hands down. So many people have told me and I see in other reviews that White Lines is her best and if it's better than this and the others I've read I simply can't wait.
Brown is much like Dwayne S. Joseph in that they both blow the lines off the genre. Neither are 'only' urban fiction authors. Both write books that can be read by non-urban fiction readers. And both are the best in the game IMO.
I don't think this has to be read after Dime Piece but I do think it helps. Brown does a fantastic job of letting the reader know of previous situations without going into so much detail that it gets boring for those who have read the first book.
I seriously wouldn't mind a third book on Celeste and Rah-lo. Another reviewer said this and I agree wholeheartedly, this book marked the end of some of the characters and while my very favorite books are books just like this, more realistic than not, not the happily-ever-after so many authors try to pass off as reality, etc., I hated to see one of the characters gone. Hated it.
Brown's characters really come to life for the reader and you get sucked into the story and can't pull yourself out. I'm very excited for Aftermath and I definitely, definitely need to gets started on White Lines asap.

This book was a test in patience and sanity. The entire book (my two cents) was person A stating/ asking information of person B. Person B providing requested information and person A paraphrasing OR completely disregarding the answer and providing one of their own, because they know the REAL answer. Person B rebutting Person A’s view throw in several cycles of denial hit repeat for almost 9hours of listening and that is the type of story told. The only characters who made any sense whatsoever were the grandmother and the eldest daughter.

Throughout listening to this book I kept saying “that’s not what she said” “Wait did you hear the previous passage?” “Wait what? Did I miss something? Because, she/he just told him them what was going on/how they felt”

Sad to say too many conduct themselves in the ignorant, profanity laced manner that the author did (IMO) a good job of displaying. This book, maybe because I have had the unpleasant experience of dealing with someone that was mentally stunted as the characters in this tale. It’s a sad testament to the continuation of failing families, creating your own drama because you choose not to accept someone else’s truth and choosing to remain mentally stunted. The author provoked one response from me and if I were to use this book as a teaching point, it would be how not to speak to those you claim to want/love/respect, how not to conduct yourself in a relationship and know that respect and love starts with you, before you can ever expect to give it to someone else.
Eh I’m off my soapbox.

The sequel to "Dime Piece" finds Celeste relocated in Atlanta, with a degree, job of her dreams and a condo to match. The only thing she's missing is love.

Ishmael is feeling pressured by Nina to make things more permanent, so he begins to resort to his old ways and reminisce down Memory Lane. This also begins his search for his secret crush and partner's ex, Celeste.

Rah-Lo is trying to move forward without Celeste, but his wife Asia doesn't make it easy for him. Eventually, he gives in (once he finds out where she is), and goes looking for her. This takes a turn for the worse when his wide follows him to the ATL.

Eventually, all of the same players find themselves playing the same game, but on a different territory.

This page turner had my emotions on 9, because I found myself rooting for many of the characters at different times, but in the same way. Veteran author @authortracybrown definitely delivered with this 💎💎💎💎💎 book. A few of these newbie authors could learn a thing or three about writing a good story from her, and I highly recommend that you check it out for yourself.

I loved this story, it was fast paced and filled with so much drama, wife/baby mama drama. However, I didn't read book 1, and I don't think I really needed too.

You can take the girl out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out a girl, she loved the business. I loved how after the girls sat with the grandmother and shared how they parents were, it made the grandmother realize that the apple didn't fall to far from the tree, and even though she didn't show any emotions, she was hurt by how her daughter was feeling. It made her see how she was when she raised her own daughter.

The ending definitely ticked me off, because I didn't want it to end like that for that beautiful man. I wanted more for Ishmael, and I was lo-key rooting for him. 😊

Twisted felt like a better flushed out version than Dime Piece, the first book in the series. The book seemed to fill out the characters better and 'plumped' them up. There was the requisite drama and suspense and I was engaged.
There were times when I was hoping things would go one way and of course they went another but this is what kept me going. Things don't always go the way you think. Near the end I had some compassion for Asia who was trying to get Rah-lo back but then leopard's don't change their spots. There were surprises that I didn't expect though I expected something. In the end things appear to be settled but this can change with a new book, if there is one.

I didn't read the first book but it didn't seem like it was necessary. The author filled you in on everything very well and I really enjoyed the story line. Sorry it had to end for a few people but I feel a little indifferent about their demise. Overall, good read, food story line, good writing from author. I would read another book from her!

This was such a great read and I highly recommend this book. I only to a star off because in a few places it’s a bit predictable and I didn’t care for some parts in the book. However, it’s definitely a good book.

I enjoyed the book and all the twists and turns. Celeste had a soft spot for Rah-Lo and Ishmael was just all over the place with what he wanted. I found myself cursing out these characters and asking what they were doing.

I think this book was worth the read, however it wasn’t the greatest. I would’ve appreciated more character development and better story lines. It was just a lot of drama and felt all over the place. I don’t think the author really focused on who the characters were outside of the drama.

This book shows different perspectives on living the life of a hustler. It shows how different people deal with love, life and death. In this book there Isa combination of losing love and gaining confidence. In his book rah-lo and Ishmael have beenfriends for yearsandtheybecamebigtime hustlers togethers. Ishmael had to deal with losinghisgood fornothing sisterthat playedwith too manyhearts.andrahlo has been in relationship with the wrong person for years just to keep his kids happy, but he has just recently become divorced because he realized his marriaege was a big mistake. Soon after leaving his wife he realizes that the person he was really in love with was a woman names celeste. The only problem is that his best friend is in love with the same person. When they both go to Atlanta looking for her confrontations occur and peoples true colors come out.

Th main them within this book is that love can cause more problems than hate can.such that in this book these too friends got intomore fights because of this woman than because they don't like eachother.but the mainly placed theme of this book is that love cant fix everything hut it can make things easier to deal with.in this book these guys got over losing money easier befausebthey had a "ride or die chick"by their side. Which helperbthem conquer every obstacle in their way
