I've been waiting 175 years for her. I just never expected her to be human.
One breath of her scent and my wolf goes savage. Mine. Claim. Take.
Eliza Jensen walks into my territory with her chestnut hair and amber eyes, making my iron control fracture with every heartbeat. She's human—soft, breakable, forbidden. Everything I can't have.
Everything I will have.
I should run. Should let someone else handle the innocent young woman getting too close to our secrets. But when she looks at me without fear, when she doesn't flinch from the monster barely caged beneath my skin, I'm already lost.
One hundred seventy-five years of discipline. A lifetime of control. All of it crumbles the moment she whispers my name.
The bond is impossible—human and wolf, mortal and immortal. But when religious extremists hunt her for the secrets she carries, when silver burns through my veins, nothing else matters. Not the danger stalking us. Not the rules I'm breaking. Not the world that says we can't exist.
I'll claim her. Mark her. Make her mine in every way that counts.
Even if it destroys us both.

This story is decent, but full of contradictions. It needs editing and corrections made. The character personalities are good though. This book is more of a "Special Ops Romance" with a side of Supernatural, and a story that I've read before from another author. (The destined bride of a cult leader escapes and meets her fated wolf shifter mate, then they work together to take down the enemy.) Unfortunately, the other author's version that I read was much better than this one. I wouldn't recommend this read.
new author for me I absolutely loved this story. well written, richly detailed, excellent world building around the town of cascadia falls, and the sanctuary. wonderful side characters. Jagger steel is the commander of an elite wolf shifter security force hiding in plain sight in a town full of supernaturals. He is rigid, controlled, strong, determined, a control freak, alpha type A personality who never lets himself relax for an instant. Then he scents Eliza the new human in town who is realizes is his mate. But what is he to do with a human and in all his years of living he never thought he'd find a mate nor does he think he deserves one. Eliza was raising in a religious cult and escaped leaving a fiance at the alter. She moved to cascadia falls to begin a new life working as a rare book specialist at a book store. But she starts to think things are not as they seem in this town esp when it seems major steele has personally taken on the task of protecting her when it seems the cult is trying to come after her to take her back. Slowly she comes to realize there is more to major steele and others in the town and the sanctuary must decide what to do with her and how to handle her curiosity esp while trying to protect her from fanatics. Plot twists, plenty of emotional angst, revelation, self discovery, growth and more making a fascinating, intriguing and wonderfully complex gripping story. I couldn't put it down staying up all night to read it in one sitting. can't wait to read book 2.

I wanted to love this book so much and am kinda pissed that i can't! Standard fated mates shifter-human tropes, but the plot was really interesting! The human FMC comes from a religiously oppressive background and watching her work thru that and consequences woven into the storyline was kinda novel. The world building was decent and the shifter MMC wasn't terribly over-the-top. I was prepared to really enjoy myself....
But OMG the word choice repetition?!?! If i have to her about "academic minds", "tactical thinking," "predatory/fluid grace," "not controlling but protective" one more time i might die. As truly annoying as that was, the story was engaging enough that i grit my teeth and read on. But in the last 25% this author lost me. Suddenly new plot points were thrown out and dropped, the sequence of events got jumbled as if the author moved chapters around but didn't bother confirming internal consistency, and then it just ended, essentially mid-conflict, with hints for "who's next" in book 2. GAH!!
Great ideas here, but desperately in need of an editor. I'm sorry to say i won't be sticking around....
Wolf’s Obsession completely sucked me in from page one! Ardyn Shaw knows exactly how to mix steamy romance with action and a touch of mystery. The world of the Cascadia Guardians is rich and vivid, and the characters? Whew—let’s just say I’m still fanning myself.
The chemistry between the leads was off the charts. The “fated mates” trope is done so well here—it felt intense and emotional without being over-the-top. I especially loved how the characters had real depth beyond just the romance. The pacing was great too—plenty of drama, just enough danger, and scenes that had me flipping pages way past bedtime.
If you’re into shifter romances with strong characters, a bit of spice (okay, a lot of spice!), and a well-built supernatural world, this one’s for you.

Okay, picture this: Eliza walks into a forest… and boom. One sniff from a 175-year-old alpha werewolf, and suddenly he’s obsessed. Like, “I’ve been waiting centuries for you and now you’re mine” obsessed. Cue endless brooding, swoony stares, and enough sexual tension to melt your Kindle.
I really enjoyed this, it was different from most of the shifter books I’ve read! I loved the background and cults I wish there would have been a bit more seats on Eliza while she was in the cult
Think Twilight meets Fifty Shades, with a dash of Beauty and the Beast romance, sprinkled with centuries of “I’m tired but also possessive as heck.” It’s addictive, swoony, and wild.
Wolf’s Obsession = human girl meets ancient alpha werewolf, wolf goes full obsessed mode, chaos and romance ensue. Bring tissues, snacks, and maybe a wolf whistle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for centuries-long obsession done right 🐺❤️
Once I got started reading i wondered if I would enjoy this book due to all the military references. But it works for this story. The Major being 175 years old is ALL military. Protection is is no 1 priority for his mate. She has escaped a religious group and wants no one to control her. The balance this book gives both of them just works ! It is a slow romance and a hot burn. She grows so much in this story. Not only in knowledge but self awareness and confidence! He also bends a little as well. Love does that to you. The drama of the fights add to the whole story as well. There were some inconsistent areas in the book which should have been caught but it does not effect the overall story.

There is a lot going on in this book from the very beginning. The wolf shifter MMC, Jagger, meets Eliza and knows immediately that she is his fated mate. But he avoids like the plague because she isn't a shifter, but a human. Did I mention that the dude is like 200 years old? Anyway, there are multiple tropes in this book; Military protector, wolf shifter, fated mates, rejected mate, and age gap (a gigantic one). On top of all of that, you have plenty of steam/spice. Overall, a good read and I'll be sure to read the rest of this series.

I love me a string, resilient FMC! Oh, and she's not a witch, either! Just a calm, level head on her shoulders. Her MMC is the definition of 🔥, and the sparks really fly as her known universe shifts ("shifts".... see what I did there?) and together they work to repirient themselves to their new, shared reality. The anti-religious over-/under-tones of the plot can be off-putting for some, but are not actually anti-God, but are, in fact, anti-asshole-tyranny-in-God's-name. Superb!.

Its an ok read just a bit slow. im not sure why its advertised as a spicy shifter romance book as there's zero spice until about 85% and more military romance with supernaturals.
I did get a bit bored of the constant comparing Jagger to the FMCs ex. I know why she does it as shes got trauma but the constant Nathan this, Nathan didnt do that, Nathan there, etc was annoying and I had to skip sections.
Also, be prepared to be sick of the word "Primal" by the end of this book. its used to pretty much describe EVERYTHING.
I was not expecting a special-ops military-ish story but I still enjoyed the read. I really liked the relationship that was built between the FMC and MMC, it felt genuine and not forced. The spice was plentiful but not too much to detract from the story. I am definitely interested in reading book 2 and have it on my TBR list.

He is running from his fear of being able to protect. She is running from a religious sect that made her less. He knows what she is to him, she is figuring it out. Her strength will propel them to a future - but can they protect it?

I loved this book! It was so much more than just another fated mate story, it had mystery, intrigue, danger, survival, and fighting for the ones you love. It was a slow burn at first, but still fast paced as there was a lot going on to keep your attention.

A good start to this new series Cascadia Guardians. This is a new author for me and I am looking forward to reading the next installment. The story flows well, and will keep you interested all the way through. The characters fit well together and have great chemistry. A good read.
I liked the storyline and there was drama, suspense and action to keep me turning the page. I'm not sure if there is a prequel with Lucas and Olivia that I'm missing but I'm looking forward to more of the series.

I thought the book was pretty good in the beginning but then it started to get repetitive and a bit boring later. I also think the whole religious cult thing was a bit confusing. Overall an okay book.
Wolfs obsession is book I n 1 of the cascadia guardians series. A very steamy start. A great shifter books with everything you need. Can't wait to read more by this author.
If you want a comfort-read shifter romance, this checks the boxes: alpha wolf, fated-mate pull, protective obsession, a few steamy scenes, and brisk pacing. It’s the basic done well, more about vibes than groundbreaking plot or prose. The setup leans classic shifter—fated mate scent-snap and a hero who goes a little feral—which fits the blurb. Where it lost me: the romance feels insta-love, and the story beats are very familiar, so nothing really surprised me. Still, it’s an easy, spicy palate cleanser you can knock out between heavier reads, especially if you like possessive-wolf energy. Spice Level: 🌶️ 3/5
