Is That Love or Infatuation by Megha Agarwal is a story that feels deeply relatable—like something many of us have lived, witnessed, or heard about. It’s a light, engaging read that can be easily finished in one sitting, and it manages to keep the reader curious throughout. With its fair share of emotional drama, the narrative often feels like a modern-day romance movie, which adds to its charm.

What I particularly appreciated was the honesty with which Aarohi’s journey of self-discovery is portrayed. The emotional moments, especially around love, identity, and vulnerability, resonate with the reader. It’s the kind of story that makes you pause and reflect on your own experiences.

However, there are areas where the book could have gone deeper. Some characters—particularly Rohan—felt underdeveloped. A bit more background into who they are and what shaped them would have added depth and made their actions more believable. For instance, a line like "For the first time, I felt seen" carries emotional weight, but lacks the necessary context to truly hit home.

Stylistically, while the writing is overall fluid, there is a noticeable overuse of antithesis that sometimes interrupts the emotional rhythm of the story. Additionally, the narration occasionally shifts perspective in a way that feels inconsistent. The story begins with Aarohi’s point of view, but there’s a chapter from Vaibhav’s perspective and scattered lines from Rohan’s, which felt slightly disjointed.

Despite these minor hiccups, the book remains a heartfelt depiction of young love, confusion, and growth. Megha Agarwal captures the essence of emotional complexity in relationships and the path to discovering oneself with sincerity and simplicity.

This isn’t just a story—it’s a mirror held up to the moments we often dismiss. Megha Agrawal writes with quiet clarity, capturing the emotional chaos that comes when everything looks perfect on paper, but something inside begins to shift.

Aarohi Sharma has the degree, the relationship, and the career she worked for. But as she begins her professional journey, everything starts to shift—especially when she crosses paths with someone she’d quietly admired for years. What follows isn’t a dramatic love triangle, but a slow unraveling of certainty. The book explores the tension between comfort and curiosity, between loyalty and longing, and the ache of choosing yourself even when it hurts.

What makes this novel stand out is its emotional honesty. Aarohi’s confusion, guilt, and growth are portrayed with restraint and depth. There are no easy answers, no grand gestures—just the quiet courage it takes to admit that what once felt right may no longer fit.

This book is for anyone who’s ever asked themselves, Was that really love? Or just the comfort of being seen? It’s not about closure—it’s about truth. And sometimes, the real courage is in walking away.
