Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
This is, in my opinion, probably the most fast-paced book in the entire Oriceran canon. That’s really saying something when you consider this not only includes the books Martha has written but also TR Cameron’s many series and Mike’s independent Brownstone contributions. It takes an even more looming prominence when one considers that Tommy’s works are almost like action movies in printed form. Still, I’ll stand by this opinion, and in no way should anyone take this as a negative thing.
We all love Izzie, but her meandering introspection and insecure paranoia WERE approaching the point of grating on the reader’s sensibilities. In this book, we have NONE of that. What we DO have is a woman driven by her purpose in the world and who makes no apologies for that fact. What we have is a strong powerful woman who chooses to do the right thing regardless of the cost. THIS is the Izzie with whom we all fell in love. THIS is a woman who is rightly and properly an heir to the legacy of her lineage.
THIS is a book well-worth reading and you’ll regret it if you don’t! ENJOY!
Today is touted as the Valentine's Day of Judaism. It celebrates love after the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem and many other horrors that affected Jews across the centuries. There is horror in this book. A curse that could destroy the world. Personally, for the heroine, Izzy Berens, it affects a friend. The story revolves around the love for a friend and the magical universe they live in. Other friends are involved in the story. Some are very familiar to the readers. There is also insight into narcissistic love, love of learning, and, of course, sexual relationships. I got out of my reading a sense of contentment with having friendships and relations that provide motivation for actions consistent with core values. Even the thief's core values remain. Love also means growth and maturity. It comes the hard way here. May it ever be so. I am loving my Sabbath of Consolation and Comfort rest reading favorite authors on this double holy day to me.
I do like these Izzy Barron‘s books, but sometimes I feel that she is too into herself. I understand that her friend ended up getting sick, but she acts like she is the only one in the city that can help him. It does get a little bit monotonous When she seems to think that she is the only one that can take care of the law.
I always enjoy reading the Izzie Berens Arcane Enforcer books, and this one was entertaining and interesting.
It seems that dark wizards are always up to no good in Austin. I was happy to see Persephone back again, I find her character very entertaining and fun.
Ozzie’s friend Dax is cursed and is likely to die. She is removed from the case and goes rogue to find the person that cursed Dax and stop him from cursing Austin!
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
