Game On is SO FLIPPIN H0T and left me absolutely SALIVATING for more. I’m obsessed with both characters, and to me this is the perfect intro to the Streamverse books. It delivers on spice and character development in a short time frame (66 pages) and is overall just fun afff.

This was just what I was in the mood for - high heat, fast paced, and fun. The characters had great chemistry and I liked the setting. My only problem with the prequel was that it felt like it cut off abruptly, it felt like it was missing 15-20 pages to wrap this up.
I give this a 3.5/5 on the heat scale, with ABO dynamics, lots of toys, voyeurism, sex work, and some light sub/dom dynamics to name a couple things.

Now, this is a combined review. I actually started with Game Over, I am DNFing at 40%, but didn't want to leave a no stars review because I haven't finished the story, so I was like let me get Game On and finish it.

I love Tara's character. She's sex positive and in Omegaverse, the Omega is largely virginal or rejected somehow by another pack or went through some sexual trauma and largely their sexual experience is from the lense of the Alpha. In this story and where I had reached so far in Game Over, Tara is in charge.

This was a snippet/introduction/peek your interest into Game Over and it was hot but dragged in the description of this item and that item leading up to Tara+Charlie fucking.

Now, for Game Over, I loved that we are still continuing with Tara being the Top of the eventual relationship. I am however calling it quits on that book at 40% because after the triggered heat: Tara+Charlie do not come clean to Jesse that they actually had met before at the Heat Hotel, Charlie+Jesse are attracted to one another but aren't (as at that point) open about it, the guys are dick measuring over Tara's attention like she's a toy they're fighting over and finally and this I know because of another reviewer Charlie is the anonymous big spender and it's so far written as an eventual a point of contention for the pack. Oh, and the one sided heat-induced bonding and you really need to be a gamer/streamer/stream watching person/into camming to enjoy the aspects of the gaming that is then heavily described.

So, this was okay. Game Over was a mixed bag.

The book was pretty spicy and kinky. They interact through a hole in the wall, and then eventually she lets him into the suite. Tara definitely has Dom tendencies and Charlie is on the opposite end of the power dynamic.

I feel like we are missing some context about Tara and why she never wanted an Alpha's touch before. Was there an actual reason?

The story ends abruptly, like this was just a teaser or it was an excerpt from a larger work. I am intrigued and will read more from this author!

This little spicy novella took me by surprise in the best way. Short, yes—but it packs so much heat. Like… nearly all spice. But hey, it’s an omegaverse story featuring an Omega in heat, what do you expect?

Let’s be clear: this isn’t the shifter kind of omegaverse. These are humans with altered physiology. (So if you're new to the genre, maybe give “knotting,” “heat,” and “slick” a quick Google—or actually, maybe don’t at work 😅).

We’ve got a more gentle, sweet Alpha—which is a breath of fresh air—and a kinky, well-run “heat hotel” for unbonded Omegas that’s such a fun premise I was instantly hooked.

So hooked, in fact, that I didn’t realize I was flying through the pages until—BAM—it ends. No cliffhanger. No big wrap-up. Just... ends. Cue the mini freakout. But fear not, because their story continues in Game Over, and you know that’s what I’m diving into next (also, MMF? YES PLEASE).

If you love fast-paced kink with a fun twist on tropes, definitely check this out.

This read like tge first few chapters from the novel rather than a short.

I enjoyed the fact he was an alpha who was "dominant" think service top so it was a nice break from the alphaholes. But I think it would have worked better if he was confident. It almost read like MMC was insecure, I didnt like that.

Now the FMC is a virgin cam girl 🤷🏾‍♀️ Why was this important? I think to maybe make the point that you can have sexual urges and solo play just fine. It just fell off the rails with the internal dialogue that she's not satisfied but she wants her first time to be "special". I definitely was oscillating if this was purity signaling. I dont have an answer bc spoiler they 👌🏾👈🏽 so was it special who knows. I'm not invested enough to keep reading.

Game On is a prequel novella and it delivers exactly as described. If you like omegaverse, it's a delightfully quick and dirty read. The couple have a fun dynamic and the makings for a sweet romance, and it’s enough to make me want to read the next book.

Unfortunately, it ends rather abruptly and while you're left knowing the couple is happy, we don't even get to follow Tara through her entire heat cycle experience with Charlie. On it's own, not a big fan of the sudden ending. but knowing it's a prequel to Game Over, I can only hope the author intends to expand on what happened at the end of Tara's and Charlie's time together.
