There is no respite for BD, Deano and the others as the reanimating virus continues to spread.
They need to balance finding food, water, and other essential supplies with safety.
Today, their plans go up in smoke.
An outbreak, an enemy from the past, and a looming catastrophe strike a triple blow to the heart of their small community.
Death stalks them. He lurks in the shadows and around every corner. Before night falls, he’ll be carting fresh souls away; but they might be the lucky ones.
I was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, I moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and I have lived there ever since with my wife and dogs.
I write post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, dystopian and horror fiction. I’ve released fifty one books across six different series - Safe Haven, The End of Everything, Unsafe, Relentless, The Burning Tree and Scares in Scotland.
In addition, most of my titles are now available as audiobooks narrated by Kim Bretton, so if you’re one of the many people who struggle to find the time to read, you can listen on the go.

We're back with BD, Deano and the crew. We start off as they head out for supplies, where the reality of their situation and the people in it starts to sink in.
As hierarchies form, this inevitably fetches out the worst in some. Speedo at the school eventually finds out why sometimes it's important to listen to others and not try to dictate rules.
There's lots of action and a good amount of tension throughout as dark forces make their presence known. As with most apocalypse stories, it isn't always the zombies you need to fear.
I didn't really think this would be anything different when I picked it up, and it wasn't (let's face it this genre has been done to death). That said, this kept me reading for 3 books, and I'll come back if there's more as I quite enjoyed it!
I read a lot of books in the zombie apocalypse genre. My favorites are those written by Christopher Artinian and his latest book is no exception. This book is so much more than just zombies. The author has created a great group of characters that the reader comes to know and love (or hate as the case may be). There is plenty of zombie action and survival, but the true greatness of the book is the interactions between the characters as they face the horrors of what is happening.
The cast of characters includes gangsters/thugs/ex-cons, a former stripper, a retired actor and their family members and friends. You meet an out of shape middle-aged woman, a few pensioners, a teenager now on her own, and a man with early stage dementia. I loved the dialogue between characters and the author always manages to throw some humor into these encounters, no matter how dire the circumstances.
Along the way, there are some poignant deaths that will have you reaching for a tissue or two. There is plenty of emotion involved as loved ones succumb to the zombie horde. But, the addition of Derek, the retired actor, always brightens the mood with his great anecdotes and quips.
There is also a second storyline involving Prime Minister Beck and his family and staff that ties in well with the Safe Haven series. The true horrors that Beck has to face in the decisions he makes might make you appreciate the things that face those in charge during a crisis.
As always, the narrator, Kim Bretton, does a fantastic job and her performance makes an already amazing book even better. Her voices are so spot-on that you know who is talking just by their individual accents and inflections. This author's works are always the ones I suggest when someone is looking for the next great zombie book.
When this one started I was a little bit bored and I was sure I knew where it was heading...but then the halfway mark in the book hit and from there it was nonstop and it was awesome!
The suspense I felt through the pages was palpable, and it didn't let up for a good 150 pages or so until the prologue. I was so afraid of people dying as well as I have quite a few favourite characters in this series (Jiggy, Derek, Petal).
When Tank died I was very upset as he was quite a paramount main character and I wasn't expecting him to be gone just like that. Plus, killing an entire family is dark and I wasn't expecting that either.
Got to say, I loved the twists and turns, the surprise way that storyline has progressed, and I'm super excited for book 4 (which I'm going to start now).
p. s. The only thing I didn't like (and it's the same for the first two books) is the constant "he smiled, she smirked" throughout, no other major issues.
9/10!

The group at the scrapyard and the school are both realizing they are not as safe and secure as they thought and have to leave to find somewhere more secure. The scrapyard group are in deeper trouble as they have a very nasty, evil gang after them. Will either group move in time, will they go somewhere safer together and what will the cost be along the way? Artinian has once again given we the readers a character driven, emotionally charged tale that has you on the edge of your seat as more zombie battles happen.
Book 3 in the series and it’s the usual rollercoaster of never ending chaos. Not knowing which way things are going to go & whether anyone will survive! More new characters arrive . A few curve balls thrown in too which added to the mayhem. It’s a page turner. I found the author after reading the burning tree, the safe haven. & the end of everything. All incredible series that should be on the screen .
I loved the series, you got to know each and every character. It was full of action and you could see and feel every tense moment. I would recommend this series to all zombie story lovers. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I was a little disappointed with the end. I took the whole journey with the characters, then it just kinda ended. So, still asking the question, so what finally happened, where did they go and end up at?
Thank you Mr Artinian. You have written another brilliant book that I can immerse myself in and escape into another world. I love our group of characters and have become so invested in their daily battles to survive the Undead and a new enemy. Every chapter has me holding my breath. Looking forward to reading what happens next.
So glad Christopher Artinian managed to pen this third part of the saga. Good to hear what the Prime Minister and family got up to… or had perpetrated against them. The real stars were from the scrapyard and to a slightly lesser extent, the school. Can’t wait for the next installment!
A good ending to book 3, and I can not wait for book 4, There is lots of action in the pages of book 3,will the school be over ran in book 3,will,Deano,Bd,tiki,and jiggy live till book 4,read on in book 3 to see who makes it and who doesnt.come on with book 4 Christopher.
A fantastic third instalment of a superb series so far, exhilarating and fast paced and purely entertaining. Gallows humour and the language definitely captures the South East Londoner to a tee ( I should know I am one! lol ). Some great characters and the story is building nicely for the fourth book. Thanks Chris 👍
Book 3 was a perfect continuation of Christopher Artinian’s epic saga. As always tension stays high, the characters are well written and the story leaves, you satisfied, but wanting more.
Kim’s narration is one of the best out there hands down. I highly recommend doing a deep dive on Chris’s work. You won’t be disappointed.
This episode in the series is really intense. New horrors begin to crowd in for all of the groups in this story. This book is fast paced and nerve wracking. I read the whole thing in one sitting and now I feel like I've run a marathon. Excellent job.
I was holy to see book 3. A Lot has happened and some people didn't make it but everybody's still trying g to survive. I like how this story ended. They deserve a day after everytbing that's happened. I hope its a Book 4.
It was a good read. Very suspenseful parts and parts where they were so lucky. I only disliked one part and was upset as well, and I believe you know what I'm talking about. However, they carried on with great sadness. When is Book 5 out?
Sadness, laughter and anticipation. I experienced all the feels with this book. It amazes me how I continue to identify with these characters. I feel their losses and pain. Another great one!
The author does an outstanding job of keeping the action and the relationships moving. Never felt rushed nor does it drag. I only wish he could write faster.
Once again we as readers would like more books by this author. This series was excellent as were the other series. Hope we don’t have to wait too long.
Outdone himself again! Loved it! Action, humour, emotion and a touch of gore! Cannot wait to see how the characters progress and where the journey takes them!
I meant to save this till I went on holiday but like all Mr Artinian’s books I could not resist reading it. It’s a brilliant story that is a wonderful addition to the “End of Everything” and “safe haven” books. Loving that we have a glimpse into some old characters that we know well alongside the new. It’s exciting, scary and a little horrifying with a dash of bravery, selflessness and friendship. Definitely highly recommend 👍🏻
