Jack Tickle's work is widely recognised - in 2005 'The Very Dizzy Dinosaur' won the Book Trust Early Years Award.

Jack Tickle likes listening to Radio 4 whilst working and eating chocolate biscuits. "Working in acrylic paint is good because you can wipe off any coffee you spill - or chocolate traces."

Jack Tickle is the pseudonym of award winning children's illustrator Jane Chapman, who has won many awards in her own right. She is married to fellow author / illustrator Tim Warnes.

This is a book that my 7 year old really enjoys, even tho it is a christmas book he picks it up all year round. (my son has helped me today so this review of the book is also from my son).

It has big letters so he can read it to me, it has pop up characters which make's it fun to look at too. It is written in a poem style but follows in a happy story.

It is about characters of christmas time. There is a happy reindeer, there are bunnies whoosing down the snow on the sledge and they are all happy. The robins are singing, (they peek a bo pop out) and words such as "chirp chirp" are in the back ground. There are snowman penguins are bears showing love happiness and care at christmas time.

The Very Smiley Snowman is a very engaging pop-up book that will particularly appeal to toddlers, although it can also be used for slightly older children. It is full of well-known winter characters, such as reindeers, robins and bears. With brightly coloured pictures, big bold letters and the use of rhymes, it will surely entice a varied audience.

Behind each page hides a pop-up creature that will magically come to life to the amazement of the child. It is funny and mesmerising, and toddlers often cheer with delight when the character pops up.

This is a traditional book full of Christmas spirit that can be used in the classroom during the winter months to get the Christmas juices flowing… oh, it is cold outside!

A very fun Christmas pop-up book, filled with all sorts of great animals and activites that remind you of Christmas. My kids love it, but you have to be careful with the pop-ups so they don't get torn.
