Scarlet Ballew spots the cowboy across the crowded bar and though she doesn't get involved with rodeo men who are here today and gone tomorrow, she can't resist his swagger and the rugged air he wears like a second skin. Dying to dance, living to forget the pain of heartbreak, she heads his way knowing it's probably a big mistake. She doesn't DO temporary men but...hot damn!Rodeo rider, Nash Logan, makes it a hard and fast rule to never get involved with the locals. He made that mistake once before and swore, never again but, damn if the leggy brunette isn't a major temptation. She's just the kind of woman to make a lonely man want to settle down for good. He should avoid her like the plague but...hot damn!
Regina Carlysle is an award winning, multi-published author. She likes writing that is hot, edgy, and often humorous, and puts this trademark stamp on all of her stories. Regina lives in west Texas with her husband of 25 years and counting and is a doting, fawning, and over-indulgent mother to her two kids. When she's not penning steamy erotic tales or hot contemporary stories, she's indulging in long chats with friends who help her stay sane and keep her laughing.
This was a very enjoyable but short story with a love-at-first-sight theme.
Scarlet works in a bank in the small town she grew up in. Scarlet was engaged a year ago until she walked in on him cheating on her. Since then, she's sworn off men.
Nash is a rodeo rider that travels from town to town competing in the rodeo and has for 8 years. Nash has been saving his winnings to buy his own ranch. He grew up in foster care and his dream is to find himself a home.
This is a short story so I can't give many details or I'll spoil it. I will say that I liked both Scarlet and Nash and their story was quite engaging...I couldn't help rooting for them to end up together. Obviously there's a bit of drama because of their situation but it ends well with Scarlet and Nash together and working on a HEA.
This was a very enjoyable story. I liked both Scarlet and Nash and thought they suited each other well. Things happen within a matter of days so you have to suspend disbelief a bit but it's a sweet story that makes me wish for love that strong and fast. Overall, this was a very good story with characters I liked so I thought it was worth the read. :D
And I am hooked. More than slightly irreverent, they reach in and grab you by that feeling place you keep hidden. There are a few typos, and I am a copy editor, so they hurt, but unlike other books, they don't hurt enough to make me stop reading! Kudos!
Scarlet is with her girlfriends at the bar Hot Damn. She hasn't been out much in the last year since, Cole cheated on her and broke their engagement. She loves to dance and that is what she intends to do. She spots a handsome cowboy at the bar and goes to ask him to dance. His name is Nash Logan and he is with the rodeo that is in town for the next couple of days. Neither one of them believe in one night stands, but they are really attracted to each other. Nash feels like the little town of Sweetwater even feels like home. This is a short story but it does contain sexual scenes.
Scarlett was looking for a way to forget her broken engagement last year. Her friends and her own mother told her it was time she just had some fun. When her eyes locked with one sexy cowboy at the Hot Dam saloon, she was hooked. Nash was at the bar just having a good time until he saw one sexy gal and felt like he had just come home.
I am always happy when I find a new author, especially one that writes as well as this one does. This is sexy romance. A lot of times authors tend to concentrate more on love scenes than the actual story. This author does both and wonderfully.
