When Bree's finance leaves her on her wedding day for the wedding coordinator, Bree is lost. Being with Ronald for seven years she doesn't know how do go on alone. She doesn't know what's next. Both her friends think she needs to get "back on the horse" and fixing her up on a blind date seems like just the way to help. Her first date is a disaster. The only saving grace is the alcohol, which she consumes way to much of. When the date ends on a sour note and she is in need of being rescued, a stranger steps in to save the day. After she can't get the handsome stranger off her mind, she agrees to another set up. Can this date help her move on from the nameless stranger?
M.S. Parker is becoming one of my favorite serial authors. I have been enjoying the short stories. I haven't found one yet that I don't devour. The plot and character execution is always spot on. Can't wait to see where following books in Casual Encounter go.

This story introduces Bree, recovering from being jilted by her fiancé. Her two best friends want to set her up, so that she can get back in the dating game. Not wanting to spoil the story line, suffice it to say that there are twists in the tale, which leave the reader wanting to know how that can possibly work out ... As always great writing from Ms Parker - she knows how to pitch the reader right into the action!
Aubree Gamble is trying to get her life back on track after being left by her fiance days before her wedding. Aubree's friends set her up on a blind date that goes wrong - she's saved by a handsome man whom she never expects to see again yet can't stop thinking about. Her best friend Adelle sets her up on another blind and when she arrives she finds none other than her mystery man. The date goes really well and when she calls to tell Adelle she gets a major shock... Great start to the series. Can't wait to read book 2!
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I always looked forward to M.S Parker's books and never disappointed. I like Bree and her friends and like them helping her move on and enter mystery guy Cade. Bree and Cade together even for one night was hot. Can't wait to see what happens next
Casual Encounter, is a little different than what I'm used to when reading M.S.Parker's books. The beginning starts a little slower than usual, but the storyline is hot. can't wait to see what happens next and where she will take me on this new journey.
This is the first installment of the Casual Encounter Story. Again, it is sold in parts of a book, not in a sequel type book. This book was included with the Blindfold Story, so I started reading it.
Aubree was suppose to get married, and then was left wondering where her groom went. She suffered from nightmares and basically PTSD like symptoms from being left at the alter. Adelle was her best friend. She had been married and the widowed a few months later. While meeting her bestie for the usual weekly dinner, Adelle tells her she needs to have a one-night-stand to get this asshole out of her mind for good. So her other friend Mindy says she should try dating this guy from her apartment building, like a blind date. She agrees and here we go......
I love the premise of this story....please don't let me down. Happy reading :)
Oh my freaking ........... this was sex laid out on a bed with all the bells and whistles. Aubree was a low key woman with sexual disappointment written all over her. Until Cade came along. He reeked expertise and satisfaction in all ways except for one......he doesn’t do emotional connections, especially not love. With that said, that’s all I will reveal. Unfortunately, only 5 Stars are allowed. I would have gladly given it 100 on the O Scale.
So short I feel bad ranking this as it's own book and not just doing the complete series. But oh well.
Interesting start. Bree has already been dumped and wallowed, has a horrible blind date and then a second with a guy that rescued her from the first who she couldn't stop thinking about. But alas, he's an escort.
There are writers who release their work volume by volume and M.S. Parker is of the few that do it very well, Casual Encounter being one of those works. Her gift isn't just within the crafting of the story itself but knowing exactly when to cut the scenes so the reader isn't left annoyed but rather, intrigued, at what will happen next.
Bree is a woman scorned, and hurt so badly she sees no hope for any love in her future. She'd been left at the altar at her long-planned wedding when the groom ran off with the wedding planner. Jilted and betrayed, she's sworn off anything to do with men, dating, and romance. Her two best friends don't see it that way and an attempt to get them to back off has her agreeing to a blind date that has disaster on the horizon. She is rescued by a virtual stranger, who turns out to be her next blind date!
Cade feels nothing for women except the good time he can give them. That good time comes at a price, though, one he charges a pretty penny for. Or a decadent dollar, since he's one of the top, highest paid escorts with benefits in the city. He's a "gift" for Bree, paid for by her best friend to get her out of her funk and he intends to be nothing more than that.
What follows is a woman's erotic journey of self discovery through her sensuality and passion as Cade pushes Bree farther and farther away from her safe zones to experience feelings and situations she'd never even imagined. Cade has only one rule: once an attraction forms beyond that of a business agreement, everything stops and they both walk away. Bree agrees but can she keep her part of the bargain? Will Cade?
At the very beginning, I found Cade to be an arrogant, pompous, piece of work who treated Bree superciliously despite his full knowledge of why they were both brought together. Slowly (VERY slowly) he turns into a person you would want to know as more of himself is revealed. I came to actually like him - not pity, Cade is too strong for that - and rooted for him at the end when Bree had a choice of who she could end up with.
On the other hand, Bree was always strong, despite being so very sadly insecure and lacking in self worth. Cade proved to be more than good for her, showing her exactly how attractive she truly is, negating those little voices that whisper she's worthless and undesirable. She completely aced his challenges and fought back for her beliefs, no matter what the consequences would be.
This is a beautifully fast-paced book that keeps you constantly on the edge, even during the inevitable happy ending. You would never know how things would turn out exactly which is something I truly enjoy. Add the pain that Cade has gone through to the sexual tension and hinted suspense throughout Casual Encounter, and you've got a truly sexy, hot read courtesy of M.S. Parker.
After being left just days before her wedding Aubree (Bree) Gamble is trying to get her life back together. Heartbroken and feeling lonely she takes her two best friends up on their offer to help her move forward. While out on a blind date, Bree is rescued by a mystery man who helps her out of a bad situation, leaving her wanting more from him. Can she find him and if she does will he be her white knight or will she be doomed to think all men are scum?
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
Bree Gamble is like most girls, she had been with the same man for seven years when they were to be married only to be betrayed by him and her wedding planner. You got to give her credit for the maturity she has shown over the whole situation. She takes thing in stride and tries to move on, which we all know it isn’t easy to do. Bree is a strong woman who is determine to do what she can to get her life back to normal, even though she has her moments where she just wants to crawl up and die. Meeting the very hot and sexy stranger who helps her out of a bad situation leaves her wondering if she could have more with this man than with her ex-fiancé. The feelings the mystery man has stirred up in her are nothing like she’s ever felt before. When going out on her second blind date she discovers it’s with her mystery man and she finds out more about herself with him in one night than she did with her ex in their seven years together. She thinks he may be the white knight she is looking for until her friend tells her who he really is.
Cade Shepard is a hot, sexy strong alpha male who has woman falling at his feet. He knows what women want from him and is willing to give them the whole experiences. After all it’s his job to please and pleasure them. He has a set of rules to keep these interactions business like. He never stays the night and stops their business relationship when the women want to take it further. Cade doesn’t apologies for his occupation and doesn’t care what other people think of him and his job as he helps the women he is with more than any doctor could in his mind.
This volume starts a series I’m looking forward to reading. Bree is a girl we can all relate to and feel for. No one wants to be dumped just days before their wedding. Cade comes of as the knight in shining armour and treats Bree likes she a queen while on their date. I have to say that I was totally shocked when Bree found out from her best friend Adelle what Cade does for a living and how Adelle set this up for her. That was a twist in the story I didn’t see coming and I definitely want to know how Bree deals with this news and what it does to her friendship with Adelle. This is another sexy hit from M. S. Parker and I can’t wait to read the next volumes in the series.
Bree’s fiancé left her standing at the alter to run off with the wedding planner. Perfect material for nightmares, though for Bree, it was a nightmare she would not wake from. It was her reality. Her two best friends were trying to get Bree back on the horse so to speak and both had different approaches. Mindy wanted to set Bree up on a real date with a nice single guy that she knew. Adelle wanted to set her up with a man that would get Bree some hot steamy action in the bedroom.
Bree was more traditional and decided to let Mindy set her up on a blind date. That turned into a nightmare. He only wanted to get her drunk and in his bed. When she tried to reject his advances, he would not take no for an answer and Bree was saved by a mystery man. After she got home and for the next few weeks, the mystery man invaded her every thought. She even tried to find him, but without a name or any other information, her attempts were futile.
After some time and consideration, Bree let Adelle set her up with a man of her choosing. Bree was ready to let go of her heart break and start anew. She was expecting a different kind of blind date knowing how Adelle was but what she wasn’t expecting was that her blind date was the very man she had been thinking about. Yup…the mystery man that saved her was sitting right there waiting for her.
Now that she has her mystery man, what will happen? He has a secret that may destroy Bree.
I am in love with MS Parker’s stories. They are hot, sexy, addictive and full of intrigue. I could not put this book down and had to 1-click attack the second volume in this series! Mystery man AKA Cade is as yummy as a hot fudge sundae! I cannot wait to see where MS Parker takes us on this ride. The book was well written and kept me hooked from the beginning. Go grab a copy today!
Bree thought that she would be living a happily married life after seven years of being with Ronald but when he leaves her at the alter on their wedding day Bree couldn't be more hurt, and when she learns that he's ran off with their wedding planner she feels like she's had a blow to the stomach.
It's pretty much been nearly two weeks since she was left at the alter and all her friends want to do is help her get back out into the dating world and just have fun. Soon after agreeing to go out with her friend Mindy's neighbour she couldn't have been more bored as the whole time he either spent talking about himself or supplying her with drinks just to get her drunk so that he could get into her pants and take advantage of her. Bree honestly thought something bad was going to happen if she staying with this guy but all of a sudden a handsome stranger helped her and managed to get her home in one piece.
After kissing him once she arrived at home Bree had no clue if she would ever see him again and after coming up with the conclusion if she can find him and thank him then she would agree that there are still some decent and kind men out there. Will Bree ever find that handsome stranger or is her search a waste of time. How will her date go when her best friend Adelle sets her up on one. This story has kept me on the edge, I did feel sorry for Bree as even though I haven't been through it myself but it's not exactly the nicest feeling in the world to learn the day of your wedding the guy you were supposed to be spending the rest of your life with to just leave you for another women. Honestly for those of you that love a suspense adventure romance novel then I suggest you pick this series up and hopefully you fall in love with it as much as I have.
5/5 stars for M.S. Parker's "Casual Encounter Vol. 1"
Bree is in he mid-twenty's & newly single (after her fiancé walked out before she walked down the isle) now she has well meaning friends looking to get her "back in the saddle" and out on a date! Bree is hesitant, after all she was with her fiancé for 7 years, he was her one and only lover, hell she had only kissed 5 people in her life ... She had no idea what to do on a date and was afraid she would let any man down she tried to hook up with.
Then she see's him, as she is attempting to get away from a blind date gone bad, a tall, dark, and handsome stranger helps her get home safely and she helps herself to an impromptu kiss!
Now obsessed with finding her mystery helper, she stalks the bar where she saw him last...no luck though. Her friend convinces her to go on another blind date, and since she can't find her knight who saved her...she agrees.
As she arrives at the swanky hotel/restaurant and the hostess is seating her....she never expected her blind date to be... Yep, you guessed it...it's her hot as hell knight, Cade, waiting for her at the table ready to wine & dine her.
Fate? Luck? Too good to be true? As things progress and the night gets hot .. Chemistry is through the roof, that is until the deed is done. Then Cade becomes detached and Bree wonders why...but doesn't want to appear needy -- after all it WAS JUST their FIRST DATE!
Bree is about to get the shock of her life when she tells her friend how the date went.....
Check this book out -- All of M.S. Parker's series are worth the cliffhangers, twists and turns, and WTF moments...you won't be disappointed!
I enjoyed this series. To me, it was very different than any of her other series. The storyline... the plot... everything was different. I have to admit that I absolutely loved this author and will one click her books without even really looking because I know she is that good and I know what to expect. And this book hit that mark.
This book was really good. It was sweet, sexy, naughty, suspenseful, and left me totally satisfied at the end (though each book does have a cliffhanger until the final volume). This book really did a good job showing the strength and perseverance a woman can have when life gives her a hand of sh!t. This book flowed well and had me turning the pages quickly wanting to get to the end.
This is Bree and Cade's story. In the first installment of this series, we meet Bree. She was jilted at the altar and has had a hard time recovering. Trying to move on at her friends insistence, she goes on blind dates. When she runs into trouble on night, a man comes to the rescue. Just when Bree thins she will never see him again, Cade returns. What does the future hold for these two?
I liked Bree and Cade enough. I had a hard time connecting with both of them at times and that really was hard for me though I loved the storyline. Cade was an as$ at times and I wanted to smack Bree quite a bunch. But by the end, they had won me over. Her friends... questionable at best sometimes. But in the end, I loved their happy ending and I am sure with time the author will give us more in the future!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the spin on this series of serials !! MS Parker really knows how to write volume by volume !! The number of series I have read by her in a short time is crazy and I am shocked that she can still manage to put such differences ,some slight and some major, in these stories. I am so curious to see how this goes !! Yes we are left wondering and it is a major WOW moment !!
This is the start of Bree's new journey !! Recently left at the altar by her longtime boyfriend and heartbroken. Bree's 2 very annoying , sorry but they were horrible , friends Mindy and Adele are trying their hardest to get to hook up with anyone really and have a good time. While I get their reasoning I just thought they were too pushy and very meddling I mean I know as adults we still have friends we share everything with but man these 2 chicks need to get their own lives !! The blind date Mindy sets her up on is a total failure and could have ended badly if the super hot stranger didn't step in and save Bree. Only problem is now Bree is hooked on this guy and has no clue where or how to find him !! Much to her dismay she accepts another blind date offer this time from Adelle. HOLY WOW this date seems to go much better and could this be the guy for her !! He could be the guy for me !! Super hot and mind blowing in the bedroom !! Bree finally has something worth sharing !! Cade rocked her world and she is so happy but leave it to Adele to ruin that with her big news.....
Love this what a great start cannot wait for me LUCKY ME I HAVE ALL 5 !!!!!
Casual Encounters is my first read from M.S. Parker. I know I have a few of her books on my TBR, and after reading this serial I will be bumping them up to the top of my list.
Casual Encounter is about Bree. She's about to walk down the isle only to find out that her groom has ran off with the wedding planner... after years of being a couple. She sinks into a massive depression and her friends try to help cheer her up and get her back into the dating pool by setting her up with blind dates that don't end up so well. One of those times, she's saved from her creepy date by a sexy, handsome and mysterious man that she's named her Knight in Shining Armor. Low and behold... one of her blind dates turns out to be Mr. "Knight".
Things go well and Bree's decided it's written in the stars for them, but her best friend tells her that he's not just some ordinary guy. What she reveals to Bree not only crushes her spirit and but also puts their relationship in VERY troubled waters. She's ready to completely give up dating and her best friend over this, but Adell (the friend) really want to make it up to her and does nothing but apologize for her part in everything.
This was definitely a GREAT start to this series.
*a copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Which is more humiliating? Being stood up at the alter by your fiancee (for your wedding planner), or having your best friend set you up on a date and tell you after you've had mind-blowing great sex that he is a paid escort? This is what Bree faces when she is left at the alter by her fiancee of 7 years Ronald, and her friends, in their efforts to cheer her up, set her up on dates. The first date Bree goes on, the man proceeds to get her drunk, and then after he has finished telling her that he is basically better than Superman in everything, tries to take advantage of her. Another, hotter man comes to her rescue and gets her home. Bree spends the next week trying to find her hero from the bar, and stupidly agrees to go on another date suggested by her best friend. When the second date turns out to be the hero in question, Bree is beyond ecstatic. When things go from good to great, she's overjoyed. Until her best friend tells her that Cade, her hotter than lava date is a professional. Yeah. So that is the start of a series of short books about how these two are supposedly star crossed lovers, but because of past baggage, which they both need to overcome, are meant to be together. I'm good with reading this one, and probably won't be reading any more of this story. A shame, since it looked so promising.
Bree Gramble has dated the same man for the last 7 years. They were supposed to get married. She had planned the perfect wedding. Then her groom left her at the alter to be with their wedding planner. Now her friends want her to get back out there and try again. They say she just needs a casual encounter to get over her horrible ex. When a stranger comes to her rescue from the horrible guy her friend has set her up with she wants to get to know him better. However she has no name just a description of what he looks like. Is he the knight he thinks he is or is he something different? I liked this book. Bree doesn’t think she is ready to try again and doesn’t do one night stands. For her there has to be a connection. She dated her ex for 7 years since she was a freshman in college. Now she has to figure out how to get over him and move on. Her friends tell her she needs to get laid and that will help. When she finally meets someone she thinks can help her move on she doesn’t even have a name. Then when her other friend sets her up there he is. But, is he the person she thinks he is, or is he someone different? Will that matter to her? I was given this book in return for an honest review
I am a big fan of MS Parker and have loved everything I have read by her. I like the beginning of this series but did find that this book started a little slower than previous books I have read. As always the writing is tight and Bree is a well developed character. Cade isn't as developed yet but I fully expect him to be in the future books. The sex is sizzling and the tension between Bree and Cade is electric.
Poor Bree just can't catch a break. To say she's had a bad month would be an understatement. First she is stood up before her wedding, then she is set up on a disastrous blind date. Luckily a knight in shining armor comes to her rescue. Little does she know that he will change her life very soon. Bree has two wonderful friends that don't quite get why she withdraws when things in her life go to pot. I love the chemistry between the friends and am looking forward to seeing more in the rest of the series. But Cade is the character I most want to see. The ending of the book threw me, making me wonder just how Ms. Parker is going to rectify this situation. I can hardly wait to read book two.
Casual Encounters Vol I starts a new series by M.S. Parker. I must admit that I am becoming rather addicted to her series!
Here we lead off with Bree unceremoniously being dumped at the altar by her fiancée who in a rather douche bag manner runs off with the wedding planner. Feeling lost and adrift, even after copious amounts of ice cream, her best friends insist that a Casual Encounter will help her get back in the saddle again. Bree ends up agreeing and meeting her friend’s choice at a bar where she has drinks with a good looking, self-absorbed and boring man and proceeds to drink herself into oblivion. At the end of the evening as he gets well, handsy she is rescued by a mystery man. Will Bree’s mystery man turn out to be a white knight riding to her rescue or something else altogether?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Bree is a very likable character who I could easily relate to. I liked watching her relationship with her friends and seeing her push her limits with herself as she tried to bounce back from the wedding that didn’t happen. I am eager to see what awaits in Vol II.
I received a complimentary copy, in exchange for an honest review
MS Parker has me officially intrigued and hooked on this series with the first installment! To say Bree has had an awful time in the past few weeks would be a serious understatement. Her fiance left her at the altar to run off with the wedding planner- good grief!
After wallowing in tears for a bit, her 2 besties Mindy and Adelle try to get her to go out on a date. Attempt 1 set up by Mindy is an epic fail but it leads to Bree being rescued by a really hot guy who is also gentleman enough to see her home without trying to take advantage of Bree's drunken state. She doesn't get a name and spends all her free time in the next week or two trying to find him again. Having no luck, she finally caves to Adelle and agrees to meet Cade Shepard for date attempt #2. Any guesses who Cade is ladies?
Yup cue the jaw drop when Bree sees Mystery Man waiting for her at the restaurant. They have an interesting and heated encounter to say the least, but it's the bombshell Adelle drops the next day that really got my attention! I can't wait to see how this one plays out ;-)
Bree has always believed in true love and happily ever after, until her romantic bubble is popped in the worst way imaginable. Cade is more of a cynic, while he believes in all of the other emotions we can experience love is the one he scoffs at. After the last month of epic fails with men Bree is ready to swear them off. Her friends have a different idea. Both set her up on a blind date. One a failure of massive proportions that ends up with her having to be saved by a “knight in shining armor”. The other a surprise that leaves Bree with mixed emotions. Can anyone make Bree not only believe again in love but also like a woman again? Is great sex really the cure to all her problems? Can Bree loosen up enough to actually experience the benefits of a causal encounter? M.S. Parker has managed to once again leave me with my jaw hanging on the floor and eagerly anticipating the next installment!
I loved sinful desires by M.S. Parker so I knew I would love this and I did!
There is something about her style of writing that I just love and she makes me really connect with the characters.
Vol 1 sees us meeting Bree, who is recently single after splitting from her fiancè right before the wedding and her friends Adelle and Mindy, who are trying to convince her to get on the dating wagon again.
Whilst they mean well - the first date they set her up on ends in disaster with Bree being rescued by a mysterious man, who afterwards she can't stop thinking about.
Adelle then sets her up on a blind date and when she walks into the hotel/restaurant it is her mystery man she is meeting.... The date goes well, so well that she can't wait to tell Adelle all the nitty gritty and when she does, boy does Bree get the shock of her life... and if honest you may do as well.
This is a great first book and the ending... Well you just need to read book 2 to find out ;)
