What Kindle Reviewers write about her:
"Wow hot at every page. Heart stoping, fear raging, mind blowing wonderful."
"I'm a true fan of Ms. Cardello. I ran on to her first book a few years back and have been hooked ever since. I could go on and on about the story like of this book, but I'm not. All of her books are total page turners, unique, heart wrenching, and I love them all. There isn't two alike in the bunch and I feel like i know the characters personally. I personally read 97 authors books. And I buy every book they put out. This author is in my top 10. Great job and keep them coming."
"Love this series. Got me to start reading again. I look forward to the next book. Thank you for giving me the love of reading back."
Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York--then came full circle and moved back to New England. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather and international scene.
She was an educator for 20 years, the last 11 as a kindergarten teacher. When her school district began cutting jobs, Ruth turned a serious eye toward her second love- writing and has never been happier. When she's not writing, you can find her chasing her children around her small farm or connecting with her readers online.

My Thoughts I felt that their connection was a little fake and rushed. I couldn't feel the sincerity that I felt with the other books. Other than that it was a good read.
Maddy and Richard was the perfect couple that brought two worlds together. A secret, followed by a lie allowed the two to meet far from the borders of the US. Richard, a chef and restauranteur, felt affronted with this young woman, at first. However, soon he realized there was more under the skin of the young woman who lived in his house. He had some issues to overcome but Maddy quickly made him forget and accept what was once in his past. It is filled with family drama, romance, love and doing the right thing even if one had to be send away for the other to open their eyes. A short story that is part of the Ten Christmas Brides Box set. So far it was money well spend and a book I can recommend if you are in the mood for a quick Christmas read.
Final feeling: This one rubbed me the wrong way. It simply did not ring true to me. Maybe it was how quick Maddy was to lose her virginity to a stranger, maybe it was the way Richard flipped personalities. There's so much more to romance. It's disappointing when a writer has such promising ability but can't move past a shallow plot. 1.5 stars
I always look forward to Maddy's antics and what comes out of her mouth. In this sweet novella we see Maddy in her younger years. Maddy meets a man that can cook - what's not to love! A delicious story of love and growth
Maddy the matchmaker (in future books) meets her one true love, Richard. He is a renown chef in his French village. People flock to his restaurant. She was running away from a tragic secret her father let her know. Together they fell in love and built a new life together in New York.
The love story of Maddy and Richard. Maddy is mad with her family and she run away. She meet a woman who think She is run from a boyfriend and tell her she can stay at her brother's home. When Richard come home he find Maddy sleeping on his couch with his car and fall in love at first sight. Great love story.
This story is set before the Legacy and Andrade series. I've already read both but enjoyed this story anyway. Maddy runs from her family after learning a secret. She meets Richard and things heat up. The secret isn't resolved at the end of the story but that carries into the series. Maddy and Richard's story is resolved with an HEA.
I loved this cute and fun novella. Loved how quickly Richard and Maddie fall for each other. Loved wondering what went wrong, why her family lied to Stephan. Will she forgive her family? Didn’t expect the heartache at one point. But I loved their happy ever after. Glad Richard also loved her family.
Great story of Maddy and Richard, loved how she wound up in France, and in Richard's house, but he knew he would have to let get go so she could sort out her differences with her family.
Although I read this book after the Legacy Series it was just as amazing as the rest. A quick read but just as great a story as the series that follows.
I liked this Erotic romance but it was too Erotic for me to enjoy this. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 4* rating. It was an interesting story about not accepting family decisions and running. So much was sexual content, that this is not for the under 18 readers.
What a fun, sweet book! I am excited to read about the Andrade family! I know about them from the Corisi series. I am looking forward to reading this series.
The emotions that you feel when reading Ruth Cardello are phenomenal. I am reading through all her books starting from the "The Collection," and I am in love.
I have been a fan of Cardello's since Dom's book, and from the beginning when we first were introduced to Maddy and Richard I did wonder how their start was and now we finally get to see it, and I loved it. Richard is so completely different in this book before Maddy from how he is in let's see...Nicole and Stephan's book? Which I think is the first book we see them in together (I'm not to sure though...pretty sure Maddy is in Dom's book but Richard I don't remember being in it). Also Allesandro (sp?) we see later as fun loving and an all around loving parent...but in here we see just how protective papa bear really is, and just how much family means to not only the Andrade's but also to Richard as well. The family togetherness is one thing that I really loved about the Legacy Collection so to see it continue into this series and bring the two series together like it does...I loved even more.
Even though this book was free when I got it off Amazon it would be worth paying for because it was a great story even with it being a short novella it still stood on it's own next to her others which are full length novels.
We finally get Richard and Maddie's story and ir's charming. Trying to outrun family lies, Maddy escapes to a small village in the south of France. Fate steps in when she decides to elude her bodyguard. She's aided by Richard's sister, Alyssa, who takes her to stay at Richard's house. Richard is not happy believing that Maddy has escaped a bad love affair only to find out it couldn't be farther from the truth. The problem is he is enchanted by the seemingly innocent Maddy. After refusing to return home with her parents, Maddy and Richard fall in love and though he wants to marry her he realizes that until she resolves the issues that sent her to France in the first place she will never truly be happy. It takes being around her family again to really realize how important they are to her. Once she lets Richard no that as much as she loves him she can never leave her family he knows that his life will be in America at Maddy's side.
This is book is a prequel in Ruth Cardello's The Andrades series
Way before Abby met Dominic. Before Nicole and Stephan worked out their problems and go back together. Newly confessed secrets drove Madison Andrade away from her family. Madison ran into the arms of an arrogant, lusty Frenchman called Richard. All Madison wants for Christmas is a place to hide out. Madison cooks up much more than she or Richard ever thought in their short time together.
Richard D’Argenson is forever gaining fame for his creative talents in the kitchen. Richard’s missing the one most important ingredient to any recipe which love.
Will Richard and Madison find it in the steamy night they spend together. Can Richard and Madison work out what they want to share survive an crazy but fantastic Andrade Christmas invasion?
I read this book in the Christmas brides boxed set. I have to say this book has a surprised ending. I never thought it would end the way it did. But then again I should not be by the name of the box set. I know was upset that she acted like a child and walked away from her parents and then pretended to be happy with him. He knew she missed her family so he sends her home. It took awhile for her to realized that he did love her and wants what best. Even though it will make up mad at times it still a great book to read for the holidays. I know I will read more book from this author.
Wow what a great read I loved Maddy in the Legacy series and she is even more loved in this book, she is very serious and angry at first and I know now that she and her dad Allesserio is fighting and arguing and it's about family secrets as always lol Richard is nothing what I expected in this he is funny but sexy and I know why Maddy fell in love with him they are so good together. I wanted more from Maddy story, it sucked it's a novella but I loved it great read and can't wait for more from RuthCardello she is a brilliant writer
This is the second book I read by Ruth Cardello. I didn't like Maddy or Richard. I thought Maddy came off too "easy" in this story. I thought Richard was too mean in this story. The only thing I liked about this story is the Christmas theme. This story could have been good if it had more of a romantic feel to it.
If you are fan of Ruth's Andrade family then you really need to read this wonderful addition to this family's story. I spent an wonderful afternoon enjoying this delicious story Do yourself a favor and whip out a few hours for one of Ruth's creations
Still debating how much I liked this book. I think I need to read it again, when I am not so busy. I had to stop for awhile and then start it again. But I was not impressed with it so far. Still out on this one...
Now I see this was the first book I should have read before the Andrade Series. I really enjoyed reading this story. I now know why Maddy feels like she has to fix things and be there for her family. This is a book that I know others will enjoy.
Another amazing book I really enjoyed reading . After reading it I found that it should have been read before I read the 5 Andrade books but that's ok it was still another good book . Must read
I have read this series many years ago and sort of remember it. Entertaining read though I did find Maddy a bit of a spoiled princess. Richard was his usual self but I didn't understand why he kept up a relationship with his self absorbed mother. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
