Some love stories burn bright and never fade—others are lost to time, mistakes, and missed moments… until fate offers a second chance. In The Second Chance Club, love finds its way back through time, through trials, and through unexpected twists of fate. This heartwarming anthology brings together tales of rekindled romance, redemption, and the kind of love that refuses to be forgotten. From swoon-worthy historical romances to laugh-out-loud rom-coms, from high-stakes romantic suspense to the coziest of small-town love stories, these pages are filled with irresistible reunions, long-lost lovers, and love that gets better the second time around.
The best love stories don’t start at the beginning—they start when you’re given another chance.
Hi. I write books. I eat things. I kiss things. I believe in mermaids.
I'm also the author of the Storm Siren Trilogy, The Evaporation of Sofi Snow series, and the March 2019 release, To Best the Boys. When not working, I sing 80’s hairband songs to my three muggle children, and ogle my husband who looks strikingly like Wolverine. We live in California, which is perfect for stalking aging movie stars while wearing fanny packs and sweatpants.
For those who like to know such things (mainly my mom), Storm Siren was featured in the Scholastic Book Fair and my novels have been endorsed by such nice humans as Marissa Meyer, CJ Redwine, Shannon Messenger, and Jonathan Maberry (in fact, Marissa Meyer and I have a fun interview in the paperback of her book, CRESS). Also, Boba tea & sweatpants are life. {We can chat about life (in sweatpants over tea, obviously) in my Newsletter.
A wonderful collection of short stories surrounding second chances at love.
Perfect for curling up with a warm drink and believing in love all over again, The Second Chance Club is a heartfelt, uplifting read you’ll want to revisit whenever you need a reminder that the best love stories aren’t always about the beginning—they’re about the chance to begin again. 💖📚
I did a new for me thing where if I was annoyed with or just not into a story I skipped to the next one which probably improved my experience, even though I only did it like... three times? in the full anthology, which is a pretty good rate of stories that did not cause me to want to put an anthology down overall. Like there is a huge variety of vibes and styles and settings and what not in here. You'd have to be SUPER easy to please if you liked all of them, but I think if you like romance at all, you'll at least find a few you enjoy.
The ones I remember as being my favorite (writing this review a couple months after I actually read it) are Cricket Closure, Waiting on that Feeling, and Dresses, Hearts, and Other Stolen Things
