Six weeks. That’s all the time I have before the summer rodeo run begins, and I need to stay focused.
My goal is simple—become a world champion bull rider. And I only have one rule—No girlfriends. No exceptions.
But when I agree to spend the spring shoeing horses in the Colorado mountains, the last thing I expect to find is Kacey Hart. She’s everything I wasn’t looking for but suddenly can’t resist—smart, independent, and heartbreakingly beautiful. She’s spent years guarding her heart, convinced men only want her for her family’s ranch. But I want her for so much more.
As I shamelessly flirt and slowly gain Kacey’s trust, desire sparks and lines get blurred. The closer the summer run gets, the more I need her, in my bed, in my heart, in my life.
And when my summer run gets turned upside down, I do the one thing I swore I never would—I ask her to come with me. Now, it’s not just a world title on the line, it’s my heart. The road to gold is brutal, but losing Kacey? That might just break me.
***
Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, my home, the Diamond Hart Ranch, has always been my sanctuary—my escape from the world and the heartbreak that comes with it. As the sole heir to Colorado’s most successful ranch, I’ve learned the hard way that men see me as a prize, not a person. Trusting someone, giving another man my heart, isn’t a mistake I’ll make again.
But when Knox Ward comes to the ranch, my world tilts on its axis. He’s everything I should avoid—not to mention he’s the hottest professional bull rider in pro rodeo. Yet beneath the confidence and charm, he’s patient, kind, and determined to earn my trust. My head knows falling for a cowboy like him is reckless. My heart? It’s already teetering on the edge.
With the summer rodeo run fast approaching and desire burning hot, I can’t bring myself to let him go. But when our dreams collide, I wonder if we will make it through the summer…
This was a fantastic debut novel from couple India and Trevor Reiste. While not about their life, you can tell that they wrote about what they know in the bull riding and ranching world. I loved their attention to detail and ensuring that said details were correct.
Professional bull rider Knox, travels to Colorado to help an old friend shoe horses while he is injured. While filling in, he meets cowgirl Kacey at her family’s ranch. Burned in the past, Kacey is content to work hard and continue running her family’s empire. They forge a relationship while breaking a horse that everyone has given up on. After a whirlwind couple weeks, they decide to give long distance a shot when Knox heads back to the rodeo circuit.
This book was both fun and heartfelt. I enjoyed their maturity in pursuing a relationship despite their hesitancies and the gentle and respectful way they handled bumps in the road. I devoured it in a day and I am so excited for the next book in the series!
Thank you to NetGalley and India Reiste for the advanced copy!
Cowboy romances have my heart. And a cowboy romance with main characters who actually communicate? Love to see it. Chefs kiss 😘 🤌🏻 I giggled throughout the whole book!
India and Trevor did such a fabulous job detailing the rodeo life, I appreciated all the detail!
✨Mountain Time by Trevor and India Reiste✨ My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~ARC review~
Mountain Time is a debut novel by Trevor and India Reiste and it was so good! Kacey is a hardworking FMC who lives and works on her family’s ranch. She has learned the hard way that some men only want you for your money. Knox is a professional bull rider that doesn’t have time for girlfriends while he’s chasing his dreams of a world championship title. I’ll always be a sucker for a cowboy romance and this one checked all the boxes for me. The pacing was great, the characters are so lovable, and I was giggling and kicking my feet through the whole thing. The writing is so well done for a debut novel! I’m very impressed! Knox Ward is top tier book boyfriend material 🤪
Reading a book written by a real life bull rider and his wife was what had me trying for an ARC and I’m so happy I read Mountain Time. This story is freaking amazing. It’s full of realness on this lifestyle , both being a traveling bull rider and a rancher. It’s a slowburn romance. It’s spicy! And swoony! It’s romantic. I loved it all.
Kacey Hart is the daughter of a well-off rancher owner at The Diamond Hart Ranch and busts her ass to prove she can handle this ranch when her father retires. With that comes huge responsibility and trust issues. After she realized her ex was dating her just to try to take over this ranch, she swore off men.
Knox Ward. A bull riding champion. He to swore off women after realizing his ex left him for a rider that placed better then him one year and couldn’t handle the life of a traveling boyfriend that led to him feeling always guilty.
But when Kacey’s usual farrier got hurt, the replacement farrier is Knox… who also can put shoes on a horse. 🐴
This is a slowburn romance where the good guy wins. I found these characters easy to love, especially all the side characters. I loved the world building and how real it felt. I felt like I was a part of the bull riding and ranching life. The ups and downs and the hardships.
No OW/OM drama and no third act breakup. It’s a swoony love story and I’m so ready for book two!
“I've never struggled with addiction-never needed a vice to get by. But now, I finally understand what it means to crave something, because Kacey has become my greatest obsession. The thought of losing her is unbearable.”
Mountain Time written by Trevor & India Reiste is a cowboy romance set in the rodeo world and on the Diamond Hart Ranch. The story explores both the rodeo and ranching lifestyle, highlighting the highs and lows that come with chasing your dreams.
Mountain Time is by far one of the best cowboy romances I’ve read and it kept me fully engaged with both the story and the characters from beginning to end. One of the standout elements of this book is the warmth of the family dynamic. The lovable banter between the characters truly drives home the strong family bond and adds so much heart and charm to the story. Every character is incredibly loveable, and throughout the book you’re introduced to many personalities that are easy to fall in love with. I can’t wait to follow their stories in future books, as this one left me wanting more.
I’d like to thank the authors for providing me with an eBook copy of Mountain Time, and I can’t wait to continue on with this series!
All I can say is I am soo mad I waited as long as I did to read this debut novel. I instantly clicked with Kacey, she is a true cowgirl through and through and is as tough as they come. Knox is a dreamy bull rider who is a sweet, tender hearted cowboy who actually can cowboy. The pacing and time lapses throughout the book are spectacular and are super easy to follow.
Kacey and Knox's relationship never feels rushed or forced, it flows naturally. As the reader you get to witness the love story build and see the 2 grow together as both individuals but as a couple as well.
If you are looking for your next cowboy/rodeo romance I highly suggest you give this a shot. It is a true insight to ranch/rodeo life. The authors having extensive personal experiences in this life style makes the book even better. PLUS now is the best time to add this to you TBR as the National Finals Rodeo; NFR, is very quickly approaching.
Mountain Time by India and Trevor Reiste ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️ 🌶️🌶️ ARC Read Kacey and Knox’s story is going to live rent free in my mind for the rest of the year. Holy smokes! This debut novel is absolutely amazing! I have never devoured a book like this so quickly to where I just want to reread it immediately. You will laugh. You will cry. You will swoon. It is just amazing in my opinion. Also the side characters were perfect. As someone who did rodeo and lives the western lifestyle as a female , they captured the struggles and how close knit the community is. Please take a chance on this debut novel because you won’t be disappointed.
I just want to start off by saying wow. Many times while reading this book, I forgot that I was reading a debut novel. The way this was written was phenomenal and I couldn’t put it down. This book is absolutely adorable! I devoured this book in 2 days!
I am an absolute sucker for cowboy romances, that being said, I’m very picky about how it’s executed. This book absolutely knocked my expectations out of the park. It was perfectly paced, the chemistry between the main characters was palpable from the get go, and their relationship was built at the perfect pace in my opinion. The fact that our authors were able to apply their own experiences with rodeo and ranch life made this story truly stand out.
I couldn’t help but fall in love with every character. The relationships and personalities were adorable. The banter was a 10/10 and I found myself laughing out loud many times, namely thanks to Trey and Jessie. Those two had me dying! The side characters added exactly what they needed to and I just loved each and every one of them and what they brought to the story. I absolutely love when books have me finding myself wishing I was a part of the family, and I think it’s an incredibly special gift to be able to invoke that feeling in readers. This book absolutely executed that found family feeling in me while reading, invite me to a family dinner night please!!
As for our two main characters, Kacey & Knox, their relationship had me giggling and kicking my feet on more than one occasion and I felt like they truly built a relationship on top of the sparks that flew. Their communication skills were a breath of fresh air, and the fact that there was no third act break up? Thank you!! I adore these two!
Do yourself a favor and RUN to grab this book when it comes out!!
Side note, I cannot wait to watch this world build and I’m out of my mind already waiting for the second book with our next two lovebirds ;)
A special thank you to NetGalley and India and Trevor Reiste for allowing me the opportunity to read this book as an ARC. This was my first ever ARC read and boy did they set expectations high! Y’all have a true gift.
I think we all have certain sub-tropes/genres we gravitate towards an cowboy romances are a guilty pleasure of mine. I never knew we could add bull riding to the list but thanks to Knox and Kacey, here we are. I had the pleasure of reading this as a beta read and now again since the world has gotten to meet them. This has been one of the most unique, fun experiences, watching the book and its characters come to life from start to finish. As someone who reads a lot and gets tired of similar storylines done over and over, this was such a breath of fresh air to see something new and fresh. The authors used such time and care to bring the readers a great story but a realistic one. We got to understand the reality of relationships while being a part of the profession - not just the danger and chaos of the every day but the struggles of being able to commit to someone. I loved watching them overcome the distance and their past traumas/insecurities to find each other. This what’s the most incredible debut, but that does not surprise me as who else can bring a work of fiction to life than an avid reader themselves?! how do you spell incredible around? I am so glad these characters are available for the rest of the world to meet. I’m chomping at the bit for the next story, because I saw characters they were wonderful, but they are going to crush it as main characters with their hilarious, sassy attitudes.
- professional bull rider - rancher's daughter - he falls first - mid burn - cinnamon roll MMC - found family - rodeo lifestyle - quirky side characters - debut novel (first in series) - Trey (that's it, he's a whole trope. IYKYK)
First of all- this does NOT read like a debut novel! There is absolutely no way you can read this book and not have a smile on your face when you're done. A cowboy romance written by a professional bull rider?? Those other authors have NOTHING on the Reistes.
Mountain Time follows the story of Kacey - a rancher's daughter in Oklahoma, and Knox- a champion bull rider. A break in between rodeos gives Knox the chance to help a friend out, and he ends up meeting Kacey while out on Diamond Hart Ranch tending to some horses. The meet cute between these two is hilarious - "𝐻𝑒'𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑟𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑡 𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑜, 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛'𝑡 𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑒 ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝑑" - that should tell ya all you need to know 😉
The pacing is exactly what I'm looking for in a romance book- a nice mid burn where sparks ignite halfway through. The plot ramps up and makes the second half of the book fly by. And my God, Knox Ward! *Fans self*
The bull riding scenes were my favorites - the imagery and attention to detail were so technical and descriptive, I literally felt like I was there. These are the things that set this book apart from the rest - the reader truly feels like they are there, living in the moment. Living the best yeehaw life with Knox, Trey, and the terrifying bulls 😂
The glimpse the authors give into rodeo life doesn't focus on the glitz and the glam that you tend to see portrayed on social media. This gets into the nitty gritty of rodeo life, which is such a breath of fresh air. Sure, you can gloss over details, but adding actual substance over fluff added so much to the story.
I'll also say that there's a part in this book that made me cry, and I'm a brick wall so this is high praise. The emotional depth ingrained in these characters is top notch 👌🏼
Side note: I had the honor of beta reading this, and I could not be more proud with how everything turned out. Trevor and India stayed true to who they are at their core, while continuing to educate those (like me!) who know nothing about ranch life.
I actually don’t like to write reviews. I read a ton; right at 200 books this year. I don’t think I’ve written a review about any of them. However, these authors are a part of a world that builds on the advice and help of others so I know every review is something they’ll take and build from. So it’s worth it to me to offer a few thoughts I had from my own reading experience.
I was born into the rodeo industry and lightly tapped into it for a few of my younger years. Although I moved out of the competitive side, you don’t ever really stop being a part of it in some way. Typically I avoid reading any fiction that takes place in the rodeo, ranching, western scene. I can’t stand to read the terminology authors use that haven’t been in this life and just did a quick google search. A tip for fellow readers, if the author writes something along the lines of “grabbed my lasso” you can assume what they are writing is nowhere in the vicinity of accurate.
This book was so refreshing to read. Had you not known the authors were writing from experience, you’d quickly figure it out based on terminology alone. It was a pleasure to read from that standpoint.
As far as writing style goes, I think there was a lot to be desired. It did tend to drag out and went into overly descriptive detail that started to feel a little clinical. I understand that was the author’s goal a little bit too. So that people who knew nothing of this life could understand what was being referred to. One example is the scene at the fundraiser rodeo. Knox and Kacey’s scenes together felt repetitive and I found myself skimming ahead to get past it. I see missed opportunity to add more depth to the characters to make us fall more in love with who they are. I did enjoy their soft love story as a whole though. I think the story line itself was fantastic. I’m excited for the character introductions as well, and will absolutely read future books by these authors. I have not written the authors off yet, and am anxious to see how their writing style improves.
Mountain Time completely lassoed my heart and didn’t let go. This book is everything I want in a cowboy romance: emotional, sexy, funny, and full of real heart. Trevor and India Reiste didn’t just write a love story—they built a whole world, and I felt like I lived in it right alongside Knox, Kacey, and the entire rodeo crew.
When Knox Ward shows up at the Diamond Hart Ranch to fill in for the farrier, he has one rule: no distractions. He’s here to work, ride, and win. He’s sworn off women after his last girlfriend walked away without looking back, and rodeo is the only thing he’s willing to risk it all for. But Kacey Hart is not a distraction. She’s a storm.
Kacey’s fiery, sharp, and hellbent on keeping cowboys out of her heart and off her ranch. Still grieving her mom’s death and reeling from betrayal, she’s focused on her horses, her family, and keeping her walls up. Knox doesn’t mean to care. He doesn’t mean to stay. But the tension between them turns into something deeper, something tender, something real.
Watching these two fall for each other is like watching a slow burn spark into wildfire. Every sarcastic exchange, every stolen glance, every moment of raw vulnerability—it all builds into a romance that feels like life. Messy, sweet, hard earned, and full of longing.
The rodeo world is written with so much heart and authenticity. You can tell the authors know this life inside and out. From dusty arenas to Capri campers in parking lots, from the adrenaline of a ride to the quiet aftercare that follows. Mountain Time doesn’t romanticize the cowboy lifestyle, it honours it.
This book is a love letter to the grit, the glory, and the complicated people who call this life home. I wasn’t ready to leave when it ended, and luckily, I don’t have to. I’ll just be counting the days until book two drops. See you back in Mountain Time 🥹♥️
I absolutely loved this cowboy/bull rider romance! Getting an inside look of the behind-the-scenes rodeo lifestyle brought this read to the next level.
She has sworn off dating to protect her heart and he has a strict “no relationships” rule. Kacey Hart’s family runs the most successful ranch in Colorado but after a devastating betrayal and heart break, she keeps her heart guarded and locked away. So when Knox Ward, a swoony, kind, and confident bull rider shows up to help on her family’s ranch, she’s surprised when she can’t seem to stop thinking about his flirtatious charm that makes her heart race and her knees weak. But as soon as she begins to trust opening her heart again, it’s time for Knox to head out for the summer rodeo season.
Knox’s “no girlfriend” rule is tested the moment he sets eyes on the rancher’s gorgeous and strong daughter. While he should only be focused on winning a world championship, Knox finds his thoughts constantly wandering to Kasey. So now that he’s getting ready to leave to chase his bull riding dream, he begins to wonder if his heart can make room for another dream.
I absolutely loved this heartfelt story that explored the intricacies of loss, healing, and taking a step outside your comfort zone to give yourself a second chance at love. It made me laugh, cry, and believe in the magic of fighting for a love that sets your heart on fire. This one also made me want to immediately book a plane ticket to go watch some bull riding! Mountain Time reminds us that home isn’t always a place, sometimes it’s a person.
Tropes: - Cowboy romance - Bull rider MMC - He falls first - Slow burn - Healing after loss - Second chance at love - He breaks his “no relationship” rule for her
I could not put this down. It has been a minute since I've finished a novel, that wasn't a short story, in just two days. At first the beginning of the novel gave me a little bit (just a tiny bit) of a struggle but after a I kept going, I was hooked and couldn't put down the book. Even when I was laying down for bed.
In this novel, I like that things in the PBR world are explained that may need a little bit of an explanation, and you aren't questioning what does this mean. Or have to look it up to understand what the authors are trying to say. The relationship that Kacey and Knox have is a nice healthy relationship. I liked that he was not pushy/forcing Kacey to do things she either wasn't ready to do or make her do something she probably didn't want to do.
Knox really is a chivalrous man. I knew that from the first time he took Kacey home. 🤭
The minor characters in this novel, Gran especially, were hilarious. I feel like you can see hints towards who the next books will be as you read just by how they interact with the other characters. (I cannot wait for these next books by the way.)
- - NOTE - - Thank you to NetGalley, and to India and Trevor Reiste, for allowing me to read this novel before the release date. Making this my first ARC review. I love that you had put what you both are passionate about, and stuff you have experienced, into a book and made it something great, that will probably get a lot of people watching PBR now.
This one was a full on rodeo of emotions and yes, I mean that literally.
Knox Ward is exactly the kind of cowboy hero I can’t resist: confident, relentless, cocky in all the right ways, and somehow still patient enough to win Kacey Hart over without steamrolling her.
I loved how this book leaned into that tension…smart, independent FMC meets heart stoppingly hot professional bull rider, and sparks fly faster than a bronco out of the chute.
Kacey is everything I wanted in a FMC: grounded, guarded, and so real. She’s been hurt, she’s got a legacy to protect, and she doesn’t give her heart away easily. Watching her slowly let Knox in through small gestures, teasing banter, and that simmering attraction that refuses to quit had me swooning hard.
The romance is slow burn perfection. You can feel the heat in every look, every brush of a hand, every shared laugh in the barn. And the backdrop? The Colorado Rockies. Gorgeous, rugged, full of horses, open skies, and that sense of freedom that makes the emotional stakes even higher.
It’s sexy, emotional, and heart tugging without ever feeling over the top. The rodeo tension keeps you invested the whole way. I was rooting for them to figure out how to chase dreams together, not just survive the summer.
If you’re looking for a steamy, emotional cowboy romance with mountains, horses, rodeos, and a stubbornly swoon worthy pair, Mountain Time hits all the marks. I loved every minute.
I live for a good cowboy romance, and Mountain Time absolutely didn't disappoint. I couldn't put it down!
The tension, build up, everything between Kacey and Knox was perfect. The trust built and the support shown between these two while both were still jaded from past heartbreak was everything I hoped it would be. The progression of the relationship actually felt realistic (not the case in a lot of books and it drives me insane), and there's NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP 🎉 - major plus in my opinion.
The spice was woven in so perfectly that it didn't feel like that was the entire plot but also enough for it to be sooo good. Plus the mouth on Knox 🥵🥵🥵
As someone that competes and works with rodeo athletes that spend their summers on the road, Mountain Time was one of the few cowboy romances I've read (especially when rodeo is involved) that I wasn't distracted from the plot because of all the inaccuracies with the rodeo events, the terminology used, and the way the season is described 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I've never been drawn to wanting to get an ARC or reviewing a book until I came across India & Trevor's TT promoting Mountain Time. Cowboy romance written by people that are actually part of this world? Sign me up immediately.
Mountain Time is a beautiful read that captures both the grit and the grace of rodeo and ranch life. The setting is written with such love and attention to detail that you can almost smell the dust in the arena and feel the quiet calm of wide open pastures. The authors clearly know this world inside and out, and that intimacy comes through on every page.
What I loved most was how central horse training is to the story. It is not just a side detail but the heartbeat that carries through the narrative. The way the training process is described, patient and challenging but rewarding, mirrors the themes of resilience and trust that run throughout the book.
The rodeo scenes are equally compelling. They bring excitement and tension, but they also reveal the sacrifices and dedication behind the sport. I appreciated how the story balanced the thrill of competition with the quieter everyday realities of life on a ranch.
Where the book fell short for me was in the characters. They did not feel fully fleshed out and often leaned on familiar tropes rather than surprising or nuanced development. The final arc of the story also struggled to land. It was not built up as strongly as it could have been, which left the conclusion feeling rushed and flat compared to the vivid groundwork laid earlier.
I had no expectations going in to this book after receiving a NetGalley arc. However Knox & Kacey’s story really surprised me & in the end I was left wanting more of their story!
One of my favourite things in a book with any type of sport or speciality - is when you can TELL the authors know what they’re talking about. I’m a rodeo girl who loves putting my boots on for an event & this was super informative about all of the things that go on in the background of bull riding 🥹
This has one of the best tropes ever and that’s a man with a no girlfriend rule, who breaks his rule as soon as he meets her. There’s something so good about a cowboy with a 🌶️ mouth, who knows what he wants & has the patience to get it.
I can not wait for Trey & Jessie’s book and you can now consider me a big fan of this husband & wife writing duo 🥰
Also Gran was hilarious and one of my favourite characters!
Read this if you love: ♡ small town ♡ cowboy bullrider x ranchers daughter ♡ slow burn ♡ he falls first ♡ golden retriever mmc
This was my first ever ARC read and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity.
Firstly, I have to make an important announcement, drum roll please……. 🥁
NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP!!!!
This is a biggie for me, I despise a third act breakup so I was so happy to see this didn’t have one.
I really enjoyed this book, cowboy romances hold a special place in my heart so I’m always looking for a good new book series to read.
I found that this book was so special with the writers having personal experience ranching and rodeoing. They obviously have a lot of knowledge on both fronts and it shows throughout the book.
This book had my giggling and kicking my feet throughout, Knox!!!! The man you are!!!! I liked all of the side characters, Trey and Jessie in particular had me howling with laughter. I really appreciated the communication skills throughout this book, it felt like a very healthy romance, I didn’t detect a single red flag throughout.
All this being said, I can’t wait to see what’s next with this series, I’m looking forward to being along for the ride.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me an ARC for this book.
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
4 big juicy stars 🤩
I basically ate this book up within 24 hours. It scratched my cowboy romance itch I currently have. This story had so much substance it has you NEEDING to flip the pages, you can’t put it down. Our golden retriever MMC and our fiercely independent and smart FMC are definitely one of the most swooniest main character stories I’ve read about in a long time, I love them both so much.
The banter in this was INCREDIBLE I was constantly giggling, this was such a beautifully wholesome read and I absolutely advise you to read it!
On a serious note: Fortunately I’m a retired horsewoman and understood the terminology used in this novel, however this would be pretty difficult for someone who doesn’t have a background in understanding the horse/cattle world. There was also a lot of American based references that as an Australian had me needing to google lots of different references (especially to clothes 😩), despite this it would have been a 5 star read for me.
I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, it can’t come soon enough.
Come for the cowboy, stay for the emotional whiplash and hay-scented heartbreak.
Thank you India Reiste for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own
Well, buckle up, buttercup—this book is a wild ride through the Colorado dust and desire. Kacey Hart is no damsel in distress; she’s a ranch-owning powerhouse with trust issues thicker than a bull’s skull. And Knox Ward? He’s the kind of cowboy who makes you want to break every rule you’ve ever written in lipstick on your bathroom mirror.
Their chemistry? Hotter than a July rodeo. I mean, sparks fly, walls crumble, and suddenly we’re neck-deep in feelings neither of them signed up for. I loved watching Kacey hold her ground while Knox tried (and failed) to keep his heart in lockdown. The banter was sharp, the tension delicious, and the emotional payoff? Worth every page.
Why not five stars? A few plot twists felt like they’d been roped in from the romance ranch next door. But honestly, I didn’t mind—I was too busy swooning and yelling “JUST KISS ALREADY” at my Kindle.
If you like your love stories with grit, heat, and a whole lotta sass, saddle up. This one delivers.
I loved Knox and Kasey’s story so much! These two just get each other in a way that made my heart do little flips the whole time. And can we get a hallelujah for a couple that actually communicates instead of dramatically blowing everything up? Watching them finally give in and fall for each other was such a swoony delight. Their love grew through the sweet moments and the tough ones, and the way their story wrapped up felt like pure perfection.
And don’t even get me started on the setup for Jessie and Trey in book two—I am DYING to get my hands on their story next. Hurry up March!!!
As a self-proclaimed audiobook girly, I rarely eyeball-read anything these days. The last book I read physically took me over two months to finish…but I devoured Mountain Time in about a week. I was completely sucked in and so invested in these characters that picking up my Kindle actually felt exciting again. And now I need a trophy physical copy for my bookshelf because I loved it that much.
For a debut novel from this author duo? Absolutely phenomenal. I’m already counting down until we get more from them!
Kasey has lived her life in the saddle and has established herself well on her father’s ranch.
Knox has spent his life on the back of a bull and is chasing after the world championship after finishing 4th last year. When a friend asks him for some help over his summer break, he winds up finding something more than a job.
This was more of an insta love, friends to lover which can be hard to get into the romance if not done right. For two people with such guarded hearts, they gave in to each other relatively easily.
I think for a first publish, this was a great start for India and Trevor. I’ve been so excited to see where this journey takes them and I think they will have a great series on their hand.
One issue I had was that while they’re both so knowledgeable on the rodeo and ranch life, this book could easily go over the head of people who don’t know anything about riding and ranches. If I also didn’t spend my life with horses I would’ve been doing a looooot of googling.
At first, the writing style in Mountain Time felt a little on the juvenile side, but once I pushed past the 20% mark, I was absolutely hooked. The story follows world-famous bull rider Knox Ward and Kacey Hart, from one of the most successful ranching families, as they find love even though neither of them was looking for it.
I especially loved the dual POV format—it made the romance so much sweeter because we always knew what each character was thinking. No endless guessing games, just two hearts slowly colliding. The imagery was so vivid that I felt like I was right there: sitting in the stands watching the bull riding or standing beside the horses on the ranch.
The love story between Kacey and Knox was tender and genuine, and the side characters brought so much humor. They were hilarious, and I cannot wait to read their books when the time comes! While there were a few moments where my attention dipped, overall, I found this to be a fantastic cowboy romance. Fans of bull riding, ranch life, and sweet love stories are going to devour this one.
Knox & Kacey’s story was EVERYTHING I want in a cowboy romance 🤠🔥 the tension, the buildup, the chemistry—it was all there and had me hooked start to finish.
Six weeks before the summer rodeo run and this man swore he had one rule—no girlfriends, no distractions. Yeah… enter Kacey Hart and suddenly that rule did not stand a chance. The way Knox wore her down with that shameless cowboy charm? I was kicking my feet, giggling, and fanning myself all at once.🥵
The pacing? Perfection. Not rushed, not forced, just mid-burn goodness that made every moment hit even harder!
AND the best part… NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP 🙌🏼🎉 my stress levels thank you.
Do yourself a favor and grab this one the second it drops—you won’t regret it!
Also… if Trey & Jessie aren’t next I will actually cry 😭 because I need their story ASAP.
Huge thank you to Trevor & India Reiste for letting me read and review this beauty 💕
Tropes 🤠 Bull Rider X Ranchers Daughter 🐂 Cinnamon Roll MMC 🤠 He Falls First 🐂 Found Family
Cowboy romances have my attention right now. Mountain Time is a twist on cowboy romance, but it delivered all the requirements for a 5 star read. Even though I have been reading a lot of great books I am sad I waited to read this book. The cover caught my attention right away!
This book is very different from the very beginning for the fact that it was written by a wife and husband. Indie and Trevor brought so much detail in the book from his career and lifestyle. The bull riding details in the book had so many details that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to read as fast as possible. The side characters were just as fun and interesting, especially Gran!
If Jess recommends it, I will read it. Tbh when I first started this, it didn’t hook me right away. I was lost in what was happening but I wanted to keep reading it because I knew Jess wouldn’t steer me wrong. And thankfully I listened to my intuition because after the second chapter I was hooked! I really loved how authentic it was to the sport of bull riding and just being a rancher. I love the relationship between Knox and Kacey but also I loved the banter between Kacey and her friends (Carson and Jessie). I ate this book up and finished it in a little over a day. Such a fun cowboy read, and just easy to get through. I definitely cannot wait until the next one!!
This was absolutely perfect and I can not believe this was their debut!! The attention to every single detail was incredible and I could image every scene that was written! If you are a fan of cowboy/rodeo romances please, please, PLEASE add this one to your TBR!! It was so good!
It doesn't get any better than Knox Ward!! That man came out of nowhere and knocked Kacey on her butt! Both have a past that doesn't allow relationships to get serious but the connection they share in the short time together was undeniable. The communication between Knox and Kacey was so mature and refreshing! I loved them! And Knox and his mouth??? Yes ma'am!! The chemistry was amazing and there was just the right amount of spice for my liking! I fell in love with all the side characters and found myself giggling and smiling at all the banter! I absolutely devoured this book and can't wait for book two!

Mountain Time is warm, charming, and full of heart. The kind of romance that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and get lost in its pages. The mountain setting is vivid and atmospheric, adding a sense of both coziness and adventure that perfectly frames the love story.
The chemistry between Kacey and Knox feels natural and steady, building in a way that’s sweet but still has plenty of sparks. I loved how their relationship developed; it’s not rushed, but layered with trust, humour, and that kind of comfort you only get when two people truly fit together. The small-town/mountain lifestyle details also added depth and authenticity, making the whole story feel lived-in and real.
While it leans into familiar romance beats, the sincerity of the writing and the tenderness between the characters make it feel fresh. It’s a heartfelt, uplifting read that’s perfect for anyone who loves slow-burn connection and a rugged, outdoorsy backdrop.
i LOVED this! i could probably find something about this book i didn’t like, but why would i? this book was everything i wanted and more. it was something every southern girl needs to read.
i grew up around horses and i went through a “studying” them phase where i knew everything about them, the accuracy was unmatched. every other “cowboy” book ive ever read either skirts around the facts and descriptions or get them all wrong, but this one was so factually accurate i was squealing when i read something like that.
and OMG the bull riding povs, i was hooked from the first one! i felt like i was really on the bull with Knox and it felt like i was there riding with him. seriously the writing style was 👩🍳💋 i was devouring it.
let’s not even get started on the emotional rollercoaster the last 20% took me on , you’ll have to read that one yourselves 😅
